Hey everyone,
Just had a noob question I wanted to get some feedback on. I am very interested in doing some DIY mixes but have not even one before. I have read quite a bit of information, but still have a few things I need to get clarified.

Mainly, I'm curious with the base, is it better to buy PG, VG, and Nicotine seperately? Or can I get the same results buying like a 20%PG 80%VG 6MG nicotine unflavored, then just add flavoring to that?

I am trying to make the juice for dripping, and I the the 20/80 6 nic is what I am going for.

All feedback and all other tips are welcomed! THANK YOU!

I think for your first time out the gate that buying a small unflavored pre-mix is a perfect way to taste a vendor's nicotine to see if you like it. Measure a working portion into a smaller bottle, flavor and go. Capella flavorings are pretty easy to work with.

while you're happily vaping away your homebrew, take some time to go thru the 'forum suppliers' (link up at the top) do some price/windowshopping, collect a few recipies and opinions on vendors and then jump in the pool! plenty of lifeguards here to help you out.

Have fun and vape safe!

Another tid bit you might want to put in the back of your mind. Testing mixes for flavors that you like with nicquid can get expensive if you are testing and do not like what you mix up. Many DIYers mix with plain PG/VG in minute quantities to test with before trying the mix with their nicquid. With the nicquid will change the flavor some, but not to much and will save you some money instead of pouring a lot of bad mixes down the drain...

Also it is cheaper to mix from lets say 60mg down than to start with 8mg nicquid... (or 10mg as the above poster hints toward)...

here's some recommended reading. Pay particular attention to my blogs expecially where bases are concerned. It will tell you all you need to know.

My blogs will give insight into all aspects of DYI, from steeping to what supplies to have on hand to a basic walk through mixing your first E-juice.

Then read hoosier's blogs. These blogs concentrate on fine tuning your mix and give insight on additives.

Then read Boletus's blog's. These blogs concentrate on formulation of nicotine bases regarding proper calculations methods for figuring Nicotine concentration as well as safety.

Then read Ginger's book "E-Cigarettes 102: DIY E-Liquid". It is a book which I've contributed to that delivers an in depth easy to follow guide in the art of DYI.

I recommend viewing VPLive Vape Team Episode #82: DIY Safety and bookmark it for future reference. It explains safety in all aspects of DYI.

then read the stickies at the top of the page.

this will explain a lot of the how's and why's.
