New to Dripping.

I am new to the idea of dripping but I understand it to some degree and would like to have that option rather than going with my tank. I have a feeling I am not using the right set up to get the most of it.
Mainly I would like to use a dripping tank for testing and sampling however, the one I purchased this weekend gives most of a burnt or just not full flavor.
Can those seasoned vapers provide me with what would be the best setup to purchase.

For sampling falvors there is nothing cheaper and more simple than a simple 510 dripping atomizer.

510 Bridgeless Atomizer - Stainless - 1.8 ohm

To really enjoy dripping on a regular basis getting something like the igo-l is a great way to go. I have one and love it. I use it every chance I get and fill the rest of the time with tanks.

There are many options to choose from ok and looking at your photo the atty there is too small.

Dripping to me is a very hit or miss type of thing.......you will get some great drags but you will also get some bad dry hits too ...maybe i've just not mastered it properly. I know among the drippers here, a popular option is the igo-L. I've heard it is somewhat easy to rebuild on and so on.

I recently bought two bottom feeding devices and its great...like dripping without all the inconveniece ...

As vape nerd said, bottom feeders are great. Best of both worlds for sure. I want an reo when I'm ready to drop the change on it. If you go the regular dripping way like an igo-l or similar, make sure it has a decent drip cup. I can put 10+ drops in my igo and it vapes for quite a while before needing more.

thanks for the fast! feedback. I think I will look into purchasing that one of those. (are the atomizers on the igo able to purchase or are those strictly rebuilds?) - found my answer.

@the_vape_nerd - totally agree on the taste on the small one. that is kinda what is happening and turning me off. As for the wood mod, it was a piece made for the cheap ego-like (cheap lava battery) to slide into...well more like glued in now. lol - thanks!

Most people dont use the 510s you have in the picture, they use rebuildables. The burnt taste usually comes from needing to be cleaned or dry burning. Just take your 510s and put them in boiling water for 2 min and stir it or run it under very hot water for a few min as well.

I got my igo clone from fasttech for $8 or something like that. The really nice ones are sold by kindeypuncher.com. I wasn't sure I would go all in so I went the cheap route. I also have a k100 mech mod but I mostly use my igo on my SID. I don't go low resistance so i don't need the mech as much as I though. One thing I don't like about the mech is the drop in performance. It's especially annoying when using a small battery like an 18350. Regulated devices like vamos/SIDs/SVDs always have good output but won't fire a low resistance coil. I've found a 1.8 ohm coil to be more than enough vapor with the watts cranked up to 8 or so.

All good drippers are rebuildable. A good micro coil build with cotton wick can last a month though. Just pull the wick, burn the gunk, insert a new wick and it's good as new.

I'm looking forward to becoming a proficient coil builder. It's not hard but requires practice for sure.

A rebuildable drip atty is waht works best and there are many to choose from. Iuse a IGO-L and feel thatit works great , is inexpensive, easy to coil and wick ,clean ,dry burn etc..

Rebuildable Atomizer Systems

IGO-L comes with enough wire and wick for one setup so buy extra. Manyare using 2 ga.Kanthal wire and cotton wick. I am using 35 ga. Kanthal wire (5 turns) and 3mm silica wickas thatis what I had on hand that I use for my Evods. Next rebuild I will double the32 g. twist it together and try cotton.

I just bought a dozen or so cheapo clearance 510 drip atomizers for .50 cents each, but generally speaking I stick to higher quality disposables for flavor testing (Custom HH .357 from Avid & Ikenvape 510 Canon from Ikenvape), and for evening drip relaxing, I use rebuildable drip atomizers (SS A6 & Trident clone).

I've had really good results with the Custom HH .357, but it is expensive; I hope that I get the longevity out of it that makes it cheaper in the long run, but I haven't had it long enough yet.

The 510 Canon from Ikenvape is a solid disposable drip atomizer. My only "complaint" is the "whistle" style drip tip that came with it and not being able to use stock 510 drip tips with it. However, in terms of performance, I'm very satisfied with it.

The Stainless Steel A6 is a decent first RDA in my opinion. It's easy to rebuild and the stock air hole is good enough.

The Trident clone was my step up from the A6, and its adjustable airholes are a big plus, though finding the right size can take some figuring out. It's big enough to run dual coils (quad, if you want, but I wouldn't bother with that), but it'll also do fine with a single micro-coil, too.

I'm considering getting an IGO-L because it's big and well liked.

Typically I use 32 gauge Kanthal and 2.5mm silica wicks, but I just ordered 32 gauge equivalent flat Kanthal and Ekowool wicks. The next time that I rebuild all of my Protank atomizer heads, getting slightly off subject, I'm going to experiment with micro-coils and organic cotton since cotton seems like a viable option on bottom feeders. To bring it back on topic, slightly, I wouldn't have had the confidence to rebuild Protank atomizer heads if I hadn't had the experience rebuilding RDA's. My next step will be Genesis style RBA's, but I'm not that confident yet...

I agree that PT rebuilds are a natural step from doing a few RDA coils. I love my rebuilt PT heads. I'm thinking of picking up an A6 from a local shop because it's cheap and comes with a drip tip vs the Igo-L/S which do not. I find that 32ga Kanthal breaks off in the little post holes of my Igo-W so I just wrap the coil legs around the post screws as if the holes aren't there. No big deal for me. I'm used to improvising with all my vape stuff. Cheers!

Thanks again everyone for the feedback!! I will be heading back down to a local (35 miles or so, it's not that local) vape shop. Will update once that I have it as to which one it is. I am going to guess it is similar to the igo setups.

They seem to last a long time. I've been using the same one for months and it still works fine and I have a couple brand new still in plastic.

Just rinse with hot water, burn it a bit, and insert new flavor. It's a pretty warm/dry vape so I wouldn't use it for extended dripping sessions but sure comes in handy with vapemail or when trying to decide what you're in the mood for without loading a tank first. I have zero complaints with my cheapies.

When I was there the other day, I was talking with the girl (gotta get her name...) we were going over some of the different ones. I choose this one mainly cause I didn't want to have to do the wicks/coils and I know she mentioned you get some better flavors from this one but I am just not feeling it and now I am not feeling so intimidated by the wicks/coils anymore either...
guess I will just have to go back up and bug Wlad some more. lol.

I had the first generation VMOD and liked it but tossed it when it started leaking buckets and I couldn't get it to stop. I got a v2 recently and forgot how much I love this thing! Next time that they have a big sale, I am going to pick up the XL, too.

I'm also interested in the Vision Aurora BFTs, but they are hard to get your hands on right now.

I like the Igo-l from fasteck especially for testing flavs
Its cheep easy to rebuild
vapes like a champ flav is great

And all that is x 10 now that I've done my first micro coil with cotton
All I have to do now when changing Flav is pull cotton out and put new in
without recoiling

And the flav cant be beat
