New to e-Cigs

Hello, everybody.

I've been a moderate smoker for the past 7 or 8 years and I've decided to switch exclusively to e-cigarettes. After a bit of searching around, I ended up ordering an eGo-T starter kit. After finding this forum and a bit more searching, I started to realize that many consider the system junk, so I also ordered a eGo Vision CE4 clearo to go on top of it. I've had everything here for 2 days now, and things seem to be working satisfactorily enough.

To get me started, I ordered a bottle of tobacco-flavored juice meant to emulate the Camels I've been smoking , but the taste was nothing like a real cig, it was incredibly harsh in the CE4 (perhaps I burned it before the atty was properly primed), and it made me wheeze. Thankfully, they threw in a sample of a peppermint-chocolate type flavor which I have been really enjoying. I'm going to be out of juice soon, though, so it's time to stock up.

Are tobaccos always this harsh and non-cigarette-like or did I just get a bad one?

I've got the "little bit of everything" from AiV on the way as well as a tobacco sampler from Mountain Oak Vapors, but they may still be a couple of days out. I still have half a pack of analogs, but I'd much prefer to throw them out and continue vaping. Do local smoke shops normally carry juices so I can pick something up to get me by in the mean time?

Thanks for the input, and I look forward to being part of the community!

Hi there welcome to the forums. In my experience there are very few tabaco flavors that taste like cigs i was a camel smoker as well but i find that vaping fryit flavors does better for me then trying to emulate tabaco. Fruit flavors are pretty tasty depending where you are brick and mortor shops have been popping up alot lately they carry juices and most let u try them. In my are in the last 6 months 5 newvshops have popped up

In my experience tobacco flavors will never taste like the cigarettes you used to smoke. I actually do not like any tobacco flavors I have tried. Don't limit yourself to 1 flavor. One of the best things about vaping is the ability to have so many different flavors. As time goes on and your taste buds heal up you will find a whole new world of flavor out there. Don't be afraid to try fruit flavors and any of the other flavors out there. There are hundreds of them.

Hi and welcome to ECF. You don't say what part of Pennsylvania you're from, but there are some shops which may be close to you. If you're in the central or eastern region Litecig USA has a couple of B'n M's which would probably be within driving distance. Just use their contact page to ask for the locations and they'll get back with you pretty quick. Likewise, If you live in the western region Altsmoke in New Philadelphia, OH shouldn't be too far away. You may be able to find juice at a local mall, but the prices and quality aren't usually very good.

I loathed every tobacco flavor I tried, even when combined with mint or menthol. Something about it seemed kind of foul and stinky, actually, and I didn't enjoy them.

Everybody differs. My cousin adored RY4, I thought it tasted like boiled sock water. Not that I know what boiled sock water tastes like, but you get the idea.

My go-to vape turned out to be menthol with cinnamon and a touch of chocolate (which I make myself). Mints and menthols seem popular in the crowd I converted over to e-cigs, but fruit flavors also have a considerable audience. I myself like pomegranate.

Hello. If you do run out of juice before your next supply arrives check smoke shops since some carry juice, disposable ecigs and starter kits. Also in Chicago and west Michigan Walgreens stores are now carrying disposable ecigs too (usually behind the counter at the cash register). They may not taste quite as good as you'd like but hopefully they will be good enough to keep you off the logs in a pinch. Good luck and happy vaping! Oh, I've also read here that some gas stations sell disposable ecigs.

I guess I should have added the city to my location info =) I'm from the Scranton area. There's a couple of tobacco shops on the ride home, so I'll stop in a place or two after work and try my luck. I've been getting the impression elsewhere as well that the mass-distributed liquid (what I'd expect to find at any of these places) is not so good while the boutique made-to-order stuff on the web is where it's at.

MorpheusPA, As far as cinnamon goes, I'll bet I'd like it but I hear it destroys polycarbonate tanks like my Vision. I wouldn't be afraid to throw it in the eGo-T Tank as they're pretty much disposable anyway. What do you prefer to vape it in? Are there any glass or metal tank systems out there? (forgive my ignorance. I'm still very new at this...) I like being able to fill up in the morning and not have to worry about it...

I still can't post in the main section so I suppose I'll do it here. Anyone have any experience with the Kanger T3 Bottom-coil Clearos? I bought one with a metal outer tube (MT-3) and after a shipping mix-up also ended up with a regular plastic clear one. The plastic has been working well enough but the metal one has been giving me tons of trouble with flooding, gurgling, and juice in my mouth.

I made the mistake of disconnecting my battery and trying to blow it out from the mouthpiece end. That is a BAD idea with these, and I lost about half of my tiny sample bottle of AiV Zombie Apocalypse out the bottom hole. I also made a mess of the battery connection in the process, with juice in tiny crevices that not even a q-tip can easily reach to clean it out.

I pulled the coil end out and saw that the wick was coming apart and partially falling out... Explains how so much juice was getting in. So without the knowledge, patience, or materials to re-wick, that went in the trash and I ended up putting the coil end from my plastic into the metal tank. We're back in business for now, anyway... What a nightmare...

I'm kind of afraid of this thing now... I have a real bad feeling I'm going to have a bad leak when I'm out and about and wind up with a mess and nothing to vape.

In happier news, the long-wick Vision V3 I've been using has been great! I'll have to get a couple more for backup...

I used to have the Ego-T and It wasn't bad at all, it did get gunked up and taste horrible after awhile but not to shabby of a piece. Anyway I also was a camel smoker but Ive pretty much given up on any tobacco flavor juice....It just isn't the same. I'm looking for a good RY4 but for now I've been vaping fruity flavors. If your looking for a good tank Ive been using the 510 U-DCTank and its working great, you'll just have to widen the holes a bit to get better juice absorption.
