I was hoping for one with a replaceable battery something I will only half to buy once

We'll need more info on your expectations.

How big of a device? Do you want something that will last all day w/o changing the battery? Or do you mind carrying an extra battery to exchange with a smaller mod?

Tube-shaped mod or box-shaped mod?

Single voltage or variable voltage?

Cost limitations?

...Priceless ;)

Thing is there are so many different types of ecigs out there, I've seen people spend well over $500 for a nice mod with nice accessories to go with it of coarse.

I've also seen kits go as low as $25. This is why it would really be helpful to know what your price range is... Post back

I'm new to the forum, but have been vaping for over 2 years. I started with Green Smoke (shudder) and then shortly after used nothing but the ProVari and love it. The ProVari is a variable voltage unit. Those "run of the mill" e-cigs that look like cigarettes are stuck at a certain voltage, usually 3.7V, and as the cartridges wear, the vapor output gets weaker. What happens to a lazy horse if you want to go fast and it's stuck at the same speed? You whip it. (Sounds horrible, I know, but hear me out for analogy's sake.) The ProVari counters this because you can "amp up" the voltage all the way up to 6.0V as your cartridges wear. Amp it up too high, and there's a burnt taste about it; too low, and it's just not enough vapor. Each cartridge is different and you have to find the "sweet spot" but it beats throwing out cartridges after only a couple of refills just because it's not producing the desired amount of vapor.

James,

I have been vaping for a little over a year now and I'll just let you know my journey of finally finding a setup I am happy with, but there are many options out there so I would try to find a local vapemeet where you can try out different things to see what you like best.

I started with the cigarette looking deals from the mall that are WAYYYY overpriced and while they were fine while I was by myself as soon as I got around a cigarette I would put it away and it was back to the cowboy killers. After a few months I got an eGo 1000mAh battery with a passthrough usb charger and a cartomizer tank which effectively got me off of the cigs (or commonly referred to on the forum as analogues). I dabbled with clearomizers and drip atomizers but have come back to the good ole carto tank. I now use a vv L-Rider epic Storm mini that I got from vaporcigzz.com with 2 batteries, a charger, and a tank for about $90. I like it because it is easy to carry the small extra battery in my briefcase to quickly be able to switch it out when the battery starts to die. I recommend the mini sub tank from mom and pop vapor shop as it is easy to use, doesn't leak, and only costs about $10.

If you want something you can buy and just be 'done with it' I would recommend a ProVari Mini and a Phiniac pyrex tank. You'll spend a little but more for these, but they're both American made and you'll never have to worry about them.

Hope that helps. I know there is A LOT to learn about this stuff.

WOW... You aren't kidding....

This is what I just got for 39.99 and I have heard a lot of good things about this product
http://www.vaporbeast.com/product_p/sk17.htm

There are also nicer one for a little about twice that amount here
AltSmoke.com | Personal Vaporizers | Electronic Cigarette | Ecigs | Silver Bullet - Silver Bullet - Starter Kits these devices are a little bit higher quality than the one above.

Now if you want to get any crazier and you want to get into VV, (variable Voltage) this mod is the "king" of all ecigs. check it out
ProVari Variable Voltage Electronic Cigarette

There are other ecigs out there that cost well over 250$ just for the unit but IMO that is over kill... Post back

I'm in this for the long hall and so I would be willing to go $500.00 or even more if it's a worth wile device

Just saw this. Grab this set up and you'll be set.

ProVari Mini ProVari Mini Variable Voltage Ecig: Best Variable Voltage E Cig Available!

grab the mini with the extended cap (available in matching color to the ProVari) ProVari Mini Extended End Cap for 18650 Battery

and

AW IMR Battery: 18500/18490: AW IMR Batteries: Ecigarette Batteries, ECig Batteries, Battery 18500

You'll have to try out the different delivery methods until you find what you like. There are drip atomizers, clearomizers, and cartomizers.

If you decide you like cartomizers grab a cartomizer tank from Phiniac here: Phiniac Rugged Pyrex Glass Tanks

Phiniac makes their tanks from pyrex glass that you really don't have to worry about breaking. (Some tanks will crack with juice flavors like banana and cinnamon as well as from dropping.)

something with a battery that will last all day not sure on the shape in you all experience what's the easiest to dial with price what's the going rate for a good one

The Altsmoke Silver Bullet mentioned above is a tank of a mod, time-tested for durability - $85. It was my first mod. It's an older but still popular mod that many vapors have had in their collection at some point. The 18650 battery will last all day.

Should you decide to try variable voltage later on, you can get the extender sleeve for $25 and get a Kick ($40) to add to your battery area which will allow you to adjust the voltage to adjust the vapor/flavor/ect to each flavor you vape.

A cheaper alternative to the Phiniac tanks (which are great by the way) are the IBTanks IBTanked - Get Tanked With Us! and Triple V Luxury Tanks Triple V Pyrex 7ml Premium Tank
