Hi,

Im fairly new to the vaping scene and I have questions. I started with a Aspire CF sub and a Kanger subtank mini. Everything was perfect on it besides having hard pulls though the tank which puzzled me. Does anyone know what could be causing it to get clogged up.

Recently I switched to the kbox and at the vape shop told me both were compatible. It worked out great, bought a new box of .5 coils and went on my way.

Now the next question is, Anything higher than 25W on my tank/k9 box taste burnt, or alteast I think so. I get a bitter taste and a small burning in my throat. Ive tried going back to the Aspire and it indeed does not have the burnt taste.

So the question is, what is wrong with my box/coil/tank? Anyone have any ideas? Im sure this is a fairly common issue. Thanks in advance.

Hello and welcome to the forum Jaite. Glad to have you here!:)

Do you have your airflow wide open on your mini Subtank?
What's the PG/VG of your juice?
Who makes your K9 box mod? Have not found any info on it.

On the mini I always have it on the biggest airflow available. Seems to be what draws best.

Im not sure where I can find the VG/PG of my juice but its Brew city Blue Razz. I also have a few others but they also dont tell me anything about the VG/PG levels on the bottle.

The box is called the Kbox, sorry the k9 was a typo. Its also made from kangertech. A friend told me before to use Kanger Subtank Nickel OCC coils, perhaps thats causing the burnt taste.

Nickel coils are made for use with a DNA40 temperature control mod. I've never tried using nickel coils in a non-temperature control mod.

Your CF Sub-ohm battery is not variable v/w. On a fully charged battery your 0.5Ω coil will output ~35watts. As the battery drains your wattage will too. When the light is blue you will be getting between 24-34 watts. When the light is orange you will be getting between 20-24 watts.

Your KBox is a variable wattage mod. You set the wattage and it will give you that until the battery needs to be recharged.

That is why your mini Subtank performs differently on each of your mods.
