Hello,

This is my first post, I hope its a good one.

I have been vaping on and off for about 6 months. My first eCig was an Joye 510-T which I bought on the advice of a friend. I enjoyed the device but the relatively frequent charging was problematic because even with a charger in the car, I would sometimes find myself out of luck and with no vape without access to my charger. Also, I found filling the tank to be a bit of a mess, considering how often you need to fill it and the occasional leak or spill just was too much of a mess for me.

After a month or so of vaping, I relapsed back into classic analog cigs. But, after the holidays I began to think seriously about vaping again. I picked up a Blu disposable, and enjoyed it, so I went back to the store where I bought it and got the PCC kit.

I like the PCC set up and the no-fuss convenience of the cartomizers. Unfortunately I have begun to experience a problem with a burnt taste in my last 3 cartomizers. I don't know whats up with it, and it wasn't a problem until now. My tongue also feels like maybe I burned it a bit.

So the taste of the ejuice is almost non-existant between the burnt carto and the burnt tongue. I've changed the carto and taken easier steady drags from my blucig and still in the first 10 puffs I got a burnt flavor.

I have been storing the cartos in my PCC upside down from what the pictures on the Blu website show. By this I mean with the plastic cap on the "battery" end up and the part that comes in contact with my lips down. I do this because the little caps on the "battery" end tend to get stuck in carto storage holes of my PCC.

I only use pre-filled BluCig Cartos.
I was wondering if storing them upside down like that would cause my problems, or cause them to prematurely burn out.

Thanks in advance,

-Melk

PS I have a eGo with a DCHV Mega Carto in the mail which will be for home use (in case you are thinking "Just use a better product than Blu") but I will still want to use the Blu PCC for work and leaving the house to be social.

Hello and welcome to ECF! Unfortunately, I have not heard too many good reviews of the Blu. There are other slim ecigs, if that is what you want, that get positive reviews on the forum though. You could check out Smokelessimage Volt, or Vapor 4 Life. I'll give you some links to look at. Both have the option of a pcc to charge your batteries. :)

The burnt taste generally means it's an empty carto. It's very possible the cartos were not completely filled from the manufacturer (obviously if you've been using 1 for a while, it is probably out of juice so i won't make that a huge part of this post).

A properly filled carto should be able to be stored at any angle and the juice will be almost uniform throughout due to the science of capillary action! The juice fills the carto eventually because it wicks throughout the filling much like holding a paper towel vertically in water, the water will rise up the paper towel against gravity.

If they have been sitting at the store for a while, the juice may have "dried up" PG has a long shelf life but doesn't last forever. Unlike buying direct from the website, product in stores can sit and expire due to not being sold in a timely manner.

Solution: contact The brands customer service and tell them, they will probably give you credit to order off their website.

Thanks for the reply Retriever!

The Volt is a branded 510 isn't it. I was thinking about getting a PCC for the 510s I already have and just start buying cartos for them.

But, I already have all this product and I'd rather not throw it away if its an error with me and not the BluCig itself. Even if I gave it away to a friend to help them stop smoking I'd like to tell the person I give it to some tricks to getting the best experience out of it, ya know?

I was thinking this also might be the problem. The first 5 were in the case with the Kit, the next 5 were bought at another location, they might just be old.

Thanks for the advice Brandontrjn, I will call Blu about this and see what they think.

Lottsa complaints about pre filled cartos. It depends on the PG/ VG mixture but it sounds like the juice is running to the mouth end and of the cartos you're getting nicotine burns on your mouth and lips from the un vaporized juice being sucked into the mouth. Store with the batt end down. Also if the cartos are emptying the juice because they're stored upside down the filler is prolly getting burned. Best to buy blank cartos and fill yourself IMO.

Be careful which PCC you get to recharge. Hopefully Dormouse comes along shortly and can give some compatibility advice. It's my understanding the the Blu's use a reverse polarity (or something DORMOUSE WHERE ARE YOU!).

Get a PCC that goes with the brand you buy. Check out PCC Starter Kit. Their kit is similar to the Blu but a better LCD in my opinion.

If you mix the wrong charger and battery you'll destroy one or the other (and possibly worse "venting with fire" aka battery explosion).

Thanks for the heads up.

My 510s are Joye 510 Ts so if i did get a pcc i would probably get the Joye pcc. They are way too big to fit in the Blu pcc even if i wanted too!
