Hello Everyone,

I been trying to kick the smoking habit for several years now on and off. There was one period I stopped for 1 year 9 months only to jump back on due to life changes, stress, etc. I have been smoking since 15 and now I am 38.

Over the weekend I met up with some friends and a couple were vaping. One told me it has helped him stay away from cigerettes and asked me if I wanted to give it a try. I took a few breaths and it was pretty smooth and liked it.

Yesterday I decided to give it a try and purchased the Apollo SS Vtube Mini kit from Apollo Cigs since they have a 30% off and 4 things of E juice. I decided on Marlboro menthol 12mg since I smoke menthol lights now and a couple other 12mg flavors to try out.

After placing my order I found this forum and been reading since! :)

I haven't even received my kit yet and I'm already reading about a backup unit. I would hate to ween myself of cigerettes to have something go wrong with the unit and buy smokes again. So I have some noob questions for those who can help.

-How long does the juice last versus how much should I have? I haven't seen any sold locally so I would be ordering online.
-What are some of the more popular places online to order from that ship pretty fast with good customer service?
-What are the more common parts I would want to have spare in case of failure? I would think some spare batteries as well?
-What is a good spare unit to have that is not expensive as well as cheap as in funtionality. I saw the Ego twist was pretty preferred unit but wanted to ask.

Thanks!

-Mike

Smokeless Image has a lot of accessories. Orders over $50 ship free, under $50 ship for about $3. 15% off coupon code - YOURVOLT00 - is always good! Ordered my starter kit on a Tuesday and received on that Thursday with free shipping!!! They do sell juice too... Any problems? Customer service has responded back to me 3 different times (no problems with their products, just noob questions) in under an hour!

Welcome to ECF . Most people vape between 3 to 5 ml. a day . So a 30 ml bottle will last 10 to 15 days , depending on how much you vape . Some people vape more than they smoked . THere is a forum approved vendors list , at the main page . Alot of good vendors for both juice , and devices . And the Ego twist is nice , but also look at the VV Kgo battery . Has a largerrange of voltages , and an led screen , and costs about the same . Both good choices . Good luck .

Thanks HOPS! I'll look at the site. :)

Good to know a starting point and it will give me an idea of how much the juice will last. I will check out the vendor list tonight.

The VV Kgo battery looks like a nice unit. Would I be able to use the cartomizer from my VTUBE for it? Also, how long does a cartomizer generally last? Are there some brands that are better than others?

Thanks!

i would be careful with the average of 3-5 mls a day as i was a 2pad marb lights guy and 12mg didn't cut it for me. i went up to 16-24mg and have been happy with that for the better part of 2 years. I even upped the amount i vape as well, currently I use about 10ml's a day which is on the high end of the spectrum. everyone is different. you may only require 1 or 2 ml's a day to be happy and successful.

best advice buy more then you will need. e-juice generally has a 1 year shelf life so if it takes some time to get rid of everything its still better then running out and going to the nearest store.

Best scenario for a backup unit would be able to share the same batteries and vaping attachments. The Apollo is a 510 threaded device. The Smokeless Image line uses 808 threaded devices. So, the threadings are not compatible unless you get a 510-to-808 adaptor for around $3-5.

I'd get a couple more batteries. Should you get lazy and not keep up with recharging your dead batteries, you could be out of luck. No charged battery = no vaping. If I were you I'd get the IMR or high drain batteries over the IC or higher mah protected batteries. These work better in VV devices like yours. Also, I'd recommend getting only AW brand; buying cheaper batteries can get you into trouble. AW's may be more expensive initially but more economical for the long haul. RTD Vapor is a great place to get batteries. Same goes for juice; always have more on hand than you think you will need.

At first I'd try a couple of clearomizers and a pack of ce3's and cartomizers until you know which fit your style. We all have our own preferences.

When getting different flavors of juice, avoid buying the bigger bottles unless you know you like that flavor. Get trial sizes or sample packs first, then order larger bottles of the ones your really like. Get ideas from reading the two juice forums here at ECF.

I'm about 1 pack 1 1/2 - 2 days currently so I'll see how fast I go though 10ml. I got the 12mg bottles. I hope there are instructions on voltage settings.

Okay, extra batteries is a good idea! I think the VTUBE kit may only come with one. So I'll look into the AW cells from the site listed along with some catomizers and sample packs.

I agree with all of the above, the only thing I would add is to get a backup battery charger and a multimeter.

Oops, almost forgot the important part. WELCOME!

Thanks! :)

Its been 3 weeks! If it weren't for my buddies and ECF getting me all the info into vaping I don't think it would have been this easy to quit smoking cigarettes. I have not even thought about the lighter at all and actually threw out the remainder of my Marlboro's tonight.

For some reason the first time I tried to stop with Chantix the pills must have messed with my senses. It was hard for me to taste and smell. (Not to mention wierd dreams!) But now when I'm sitting in a room or commute train I can smell a smoker walking in. Aw damn, I used to smell like that! Sheesh!

I haven't lost my mind did I??? :vapor::vapor::vapor::vapor::vapor:
