Hey everyone, just wanted to say hello and talk a little but my experience so far. It sounds like I've been pretty lucky given what I've been reading here. Anyhow, I was forced to quit smoking by my employer so I wanted an alternative. Patches, gum and such have never worked so I started looking for alternatives and stumbled upon vaping.
First experience was with store bought disposable. It didn't taste very good, not really any throat hit to speak of and after the first few hits you never really got ANY kind a decent hit. It certainly was no incentive to quit. I did some research (that means I googled e-cigs) and came across a couple of reviews stating that the V2 brand was a good starter, so I went with their express kit.
The V2 provided the flavor (Sahara) I wanted and the throat hit I was looking for and finally made me think this would work. I smoked my last cigarette 2 and 1/2 weeks ago and haven't looked back.
Very early in the into the last 2 1/2 weeks I learned that just because they SAY one cartridge is equivalent to 2 packs of cigarettes, doesn't mean it's so (false advertising is shocking I know). I ran through my first pack of 5 cartridges in just under 5 days when I realized that if the battery is not pretty much fully charged, you're not getting a good hit. Great discovery because it allowed me to go almost 2 days on one cartridge however, I pretty much have to leave it on the charger when I 'm not using it, highly inconvenient in my line of work. I was trying figure a better option when I was with one my customers and he pulled out what I assumed was the most high tech crack pipe I had ever seen. I politely asked,"What the hell is that?" and he told me it was his e-cig. No kidding.
That's how I found the Volcano brand Inferno. It's an eGo type model and it is everything that I wanted from the gate. Full flavor, full hits, all day long. Although I can't recommend their Pure Tobacco juice, once I filled it with the Sahara I'm used too, it's been smooth sailing.
Maybe it's all relative, but after reading through this forum I feel super lucky because I feel like I got the set up I need and I don't feel like I've had to spend a ton of money to get there. All in, from the first disposables to the last bottle of juice I bought, I'm only down about $200. Subtract the cost of the cigarettes I HAVEN'T been buying, and it's down to like $100. On top of that, looking at how long this juice is lasting, I probably won't have to put any more money out for at least 2-3 weeks, so I'm feeling pretty good about the money aspect right now.
Well, that's my tale in a nutshell. Looking forward to getting some good info on vaping from this forum. Happy Thursday everyone!
