hey all, new to ECF, any one know how to improve these chinese modthreads? IE Vamo. They are driving me crazy.
I've heard some people use silicon tape, or perhaps a lubricant?

Noalox is good for aluminum connections, but I wonder if one of the DeOxit products might be useful?
Then there are the flashlight enthusiasts who use non-conducting silicone on the threads...Nyogel 760 and Superlube grease seem popular according to a poll on the candlepower forum.
I haven't used anything yet, but should probably do so soon since I take PVs and flashlights out on the salt water fairly often.
ETA: I mean useful for our brass/chrome and stainless steel PVs.

I use a Vamo and don't have the problem you described. I am careful however when I attached my carto. But to ease your mind, you could use an adapter like this:
