New to ECF

Hello all,
Doing my mandatory new member post. Long time cig smoker of about 33 years. Wanted to quit so many times and always tried cold turkey.
Finally purchased a cheapo e-cig from an online company with a "starter" kit. From the first day I received it, I made the commitment to quit cigs for good and go full on vaping. The crappy e-cigs actually helped me to achieve this goal. I vaped that way for almost a year when I found a local vape shop.
I was quite amazed to find all of the mods available and the crazy things some vapers were doing, like dripping
Purchased my first actual tank and battery and loved vaping even more.
Now it's been close to 2 years analog smoke free, and vaping all the way
Just purchased the kangertech Subtank Mini last week with a iStick 50W. Raised my vaping to a whole new level. Absolutely loving it and I'm amazed at how long the iStick 50W lasts me (at least 3 days without a charge).
So I'm getting there with vaping and learning more all the time by talking to people in the vape shop and surfing youtube videos.
I'll never go back to cigs again now that vaping has entered my life.

Welcome Bill ! I'm still new too, but your post caught my attention because I just got the iStick 50 and Protank Mini two days ago - and it's the best setup I've had so far (I've only been vaping almost 7 weeks, but I know there's no turning back now! LOL)

Hi KattMamma from Texas! I got the Subtank Mini because I wanted to sub-ohm and it has a RBA (rebuildable) so I can make my own coils and tweak things out a bit.
So far so good,
Were you a cig smoker before vaping?

Cool on the same setup. Question: are you using the RBA .5ohm? What watts are you using? What PG/VG are you using?
Asking because I'm still trying to tweak all of the above for the best vaping experience.

Yes I smoked for over 30 years. And I would never have been able to quit successfully without vaping - I know that without a doubt (tried).

BTW I am running 80% VG in my Protank Mini - the only problem I've had so far was caused by user error. For some reason the shape and weight of the iStick mini was causing me to raise it up (like I was chugging a beer). I didn't realize I was doing it until I got 2 nasty dry hits while driving home last night. Told the hubby and he figured it out LOL

Well - one other prob - blowing through juice! But I'm sure that's because I keep hitting it like there's no tomorrow

I also have an Atlantis, and it was ok (after I got OCC coils) but I didn't love it. There was always a slight "warm metal" taste. (I'm a "super-taster" so I taste EVERYTHING.) The Protank tip gets hotter than I like (I'll probably buy a different tip for it) but no "metal" taste. I LOVE THIS THING!

Try the Delrin drip tips, I replaced all the metal, these work nicely.
