Wow, Kat! I'm so happy for you! It looks like it's working! Doesn't it seem somehow like an alternate reality, I mean comparing to what you thought you knew about quitting smoking just from "mainstream" knowledge? And all the vendors with old fashioned pre-Romney capitalism small business philosphy, and all the people out there doing it successfully that you never hear or read about... That's how it feels for me. I'm still afraid the rift between dimensions will close and vaping will be inaccessible from our side of the universe I'm rambling...

I thought of keeping one of the rubber tips that comes on the carto on when my Volt is in my pocket, to keep the carto clean and keep pocket lint out of it. Is this a good idea, or would it be dangerous if the batt were to be accidently activated while it's in my pocket?

The e-cig must have an automatic cut-off, I don't know for the Volt... 10 seconds maybe? But it's still advisable to carry it in such a way that it won't activate - it could heat up and burn you or damage stuff around it, although unlikely. Larger batts have 'pocket friendly' on-off features. A poorly protected large mod can do a lot of damage if it activates like that, but I'm not so sure about your Volt...

Sometimes you can revive a carto by soaking in vodka then allowing to dry. High VG also tends to ruin them.

Yeah, I finally tossed one today. The vapor and flavor were fine, but while I had just topped it off it was a hard draw and I wasn't getting the hit I normally get. I pulled the filling out and it was looking kinda gunky at the bottom. Vodka's a good idea, but I live in a dry household... no alcohol allowed :'(

I keep everything out my son's reach, but he never knew I smoked and neither my mother nor I want him to. I don't particularly like keeping secrets from him, but my mom calls the shots and there are certain things that he just doesn't understand as well as he should. He's got some mental/physical handicaps that we have to work around. So I don't vape around him because I'm not sure he'd understand the difference or why I'm doing it.
