Wife uses a vamo v5

Steal one of her batteries for the time being :p Until you're able to pick up some better genuine batteries. Good rule of thumb as somebody else said... Never trust "fire" batteries... because that's what you get.

I have those same 18650's and when I switched to the purple 30amp from Efest I found that they hit much harder than the red ones. Something to think about. I've had great luck w/ the Sony VTC4 and the purple 30amp Efest 18650's, you should get harder hits w/ those without having to building lower resistance coils.

I use Sony VTC5's and VTC4. My Pegasus clone has a sony vtc5 in it. Thing lasts a short while for me (vaping at 0.38 ohms) Basically I can work all day and vape when I need to and charge the battery when I get home from work. Highest mah rating out of any 18650. By far the best. And with those 30 amp efests you're using... those are just Sony VTC4 (if they are the 2100 mah). If they are the 35 amp they are actually the LG HE2 batteries with a max continuous amp of 20 amps.

@Tinnerman Glad we could help :D

They are the 30 amp version. I heard that they were re-wrapped Sony's but I didn't want to pull off the wrap to verify myself. I got both Sony and Efest to see if I could detect any diff and I can't.

I mostly run a .7ohm kayfun and can get a mostly full day out of them though I usually rotate 4 batteries in total, so I throw them on the charger when the vape starts to go down so they are never over-discharged. I have a .4ohm in my Quasar, but thats usually only used in the evening so I have no idea how long the battery lasts w/ that set-up. But w/ 4 batteries running in 1 or 2 mods it doesn't really matter at this point.

By the way. The Stillare is a nice RDA. Produces great clouds and decent flavor. If you're looking for more flavor than clouds try out the magma. Now a little tip to figure out the amps your battery needs to be for your mod to work with your coil will be this... Max Voltage(4.2)/Resistance(0.5)=8.4 amps. The Efest is rated for 10 amps so the lowest you SHOULD go is 0.42 for safety reasons.

Also to make more clouds yes lowering the resistance helps. Moving the airflow directly line up with the coil is the biggest thing, make sure you do this! Before you go venturing into the lower side of sub-ohming do some research on battery safety and learn about ohms law. Baditude has a nice little blog about battery safety. (I'm actually kinda surprised he didn't show up here).

More wraps increases the resistance thus decreasing the wattage. Remember, your mod can only put out a certain number of volts and thus increasing the resistance will decrease the wattage that is put out.

say its a fresh battery and 0 voltage drop... to figure out wattage its (4.2x4.2)/0.5(resistance)=35.28 watts

I use 26 gauge kanthal at 5 wraps dual coil to get a .38 ohm coil. So on a fresh 4.2 battery (again 0 voltage drop) I get 51 watts. The lower the ohms the hotter the vape, the denser the vape, and the flavors do change a bit.

Ok so batteries I understand for the moment. Lol. Currently my coils are 28ga Kanthal and I am doing 4 wraps on a 5/64 bit. Should I be doing more wraps???

I think you should experiment with 1 coil; once you get 1 coil done and find the sweet spot, you just add the other coil.

For 28 ga kanthal, I'm sure people know the ohms that work best ; I think it's about 1 ohm per coil like 0.8 to 1.2 around there.

Man you guys are great. I just knew that this was a group of folks that wouldn't turn their nose up at a newbie and it is greatly appreciated. Moved my air holes to line up with coils, opened the airflow all the way up and BAM... Huge cloud.

Isn't it funny how we know exactly what the problem is? It's like we're peaking into your window watching you...
