I don't often post to these forums but it seems this is where the creator of the GGTS is most easily contactable. I attempted to post a reply to the current thread about this same topic but got knocked back due to not having enough posts. I've been vaping since October 2009 and active in many ways in the vaping community.. just not here.
In any case, over the last week I have been looking at buying a GGTS. They are quite expensive but I believe that they are worth the expense because of the solid design and manufacture. I already own an SD MkII, 2 SD MkI's and a collection of other devices and passthroughs, so the GGTS would be (hopefully) my final purchase ever as it does basically everything and can be fully repaired and maintained by the user.
The only problem I have with it is the new engraving. I've read through that other thread and I understand the reasoning behind the addition of the "TO MY FRIEND" engraving but it is something that is ensuring that I don't purchase this device. I can understand a limit batch of these being done, for the reasons outlined in that other thread but I just don't want it on there.
Is there any chance that this will be removed in later editions of the GGTS? Or will it be forever a device I will not get because of a well intended and heart-felt gesture from the manufacturer that does not sit right with me?
I really, really want one of these.. just not with "TO MY FRIEND", or anything else other than what was on there before, on the side.
