New to rebuilding

I start my mech mod journey tomorrow when I get home. I got the following:
  • hcigar Nemesis Clone with Magnets for switch
  • Igo-W
  • kayfun Lite Clone
  • Silica & Ekowool wick
  • 32 & 28ga kanthal
  • Have a multimeter but still got an atomizer ohm meter.
  • an Evolv Kick
  • 2 Sony VTC4 18650 30A
  • Nitecore I2 charger
I think I have most everything I could possibly need as a beginner. I'm comfortable with ohm's law(2 years top of my class electronic engineering at a vocational school in highschool), using a multimeter, and have been watching a lot of coil building videos & reading everything I can find about mech mod/battery safety. I know I do still need a few common tools like some good needlenose tweezers/pliers, a drill bit set for my cordless drill(any certain type of drill bits?), and a butane torch, I'll grab all this at Lowe's or home depot tomorrow, but is there anything else that would be handy to get? Any tips, tricks, or handy gear/tool suggestions would be appreciated.

So, you're, like, the poster boy for how to get into rebuildables. You know that, right?

Very good gear selection you've got there - I love me a kayfun on a nemi, and good to see finally see someone going for the 30A batts straight away.

I would suggest that you investigate microcoils with cotton wicking - plenty of vids on YT about this as well as lots of info in this forum. It's a great wicking material, plus it's the go-to way to stuff a micro.

You've got a kick in the mix, so using that pretty much means coils >1 ohm (a good thing, IMHO), and you can't beat a good 28 gauge micro for vapor and flavour. If going subohm (and not using the kick), I'm going to go out on a limb and assume you're good with safety knowledge.

Glad to hear I'm on a good path so far. When I started researching mech mods and RBAs the first thing I read about was cloud chasing and needing to know a good plastic surgeon. This frightened me to the point of almost avoiding mech mods all together, but I want the best vape I can get and this seems to be the way to do it so I read for hours every day until I found a general consensus on good gear to start with. I've watched a ton of videos, including a bunch of Rip Tripper's(took me a while to tolerate his shtick) coil guides so I'm getting familiar with microcoils. Now all that's left is to get home(truck driver so this has been a long week knowing all my new gear is at home) and start building. Thinking about starting with the Igo-W so I can do several builds and change them easily without having a full Kayfun tank. Once I get a few successful builds on that then I'll move on to the KFL.

Though not the OP on this I'd like to say thanks to super_X_drifter. His YT vids are great but I love the chart & fact sheet. The reference "mold/jig/mandrel" leads me to infer that they're his personal handiwork. Where can the originals be found, and are they 'stickied'?
TIA

Thanks :)
Yeah I used to just call it a mold but I adapted it to include terminology others were using. The original chart I made was also noted by others that there were some discrepancies between needle ga an the conversion in mm. That's why I made the new chart :)

Here's a link to the thread that gave birth to the micro coil. We've come along way in a year :)

This NEEDS to be a sticky and should be a banner and a mandatory terms of services signed agreement for anyone on ECF. Awesome job as usual.
