I ordered a mini yesterday (silver/purple or purple/silver, can't remember which is the box and which is the door), and have a few questions. I have never used a drip tip, any favorites? Preference between metal and other materials for drip tips? How about batteries, I didn't think to order any, can I get them at Radio Shack, or other brick and mortar stores locally? I see several people are using cartomizers, what is the advantage? Are drip tips necessary or can I use an empty cart instead and would it dull the flavor or change things in some way? Thanks for your advise! Jeni:unsure:

Hi Jeni. Welcome!

You will need a few things:

14500 batteries (nope, can't get them at Radio Shack). I prefer AW IMR 14500, and that is what Rob recommends. You will need 3 or 4 of them (I am showing lighthound because they are in stock, but there are other excellent vendors)
AW IMR 14500 LiMN Rechargeable Lithium Battery
and a charger Ultrafire WF-139 Charger for 14500 / 17500 / 18500 / 18650 / RCR123 3.7 volt Lithium Battery Charger
Throw in one or two of these (very handy) Ballistic Nylon Battery Case with Keyring

Then, you will need atomizers or cartomizers with 510 threading (or 306, same as 510). All attys are shipped with an empty cart or something that covers the atty and you can vape through, but a drip tip is preferred. Any 510 drip tip will work on 510 attys or cartos. If you go with 306 attys, they require a special drip tip that fits over the entire atomizer.

Lots of people like cartomizers on their REO http://www.e-cigarette-forum.com/forum/reos-mods/161209-reo-grand-mini-can-run-cartomizers-too.html I used cartos on my eGo, and the flavor with an atomizers seems cleaner to me, more like dripping.

If you prefer low resistence, I like the Cisco (avidvaper) 2.0 ohm 510's LR510 Low Resistance Atomizer 2.0 ohm (Cisco Spec) - Avid Vaper or 1.5 ohm 306 Cisco LR306 1.5 ohm Atomizer + Drip Tip Special - Avid Vaper. See http://www.e-cigarette-forum.com/forum/reos-mods/161153-what-atomizers-do-you-like-reo.html Carries drip tips too.

There is no advantage to anything but plastic for drip tips, other than aesthetics, transferring too much heat/cold, and possibly chipping a tooth..

Lighthound is good for batts, you can also try Oveready.com

Cartos are ok but not necessary, all they do on the Reo is allow you to squonk your bottle less frequently. I prefer Cisco 2ohm 510 and 306 from Avidvaper. The 1.5 ohm are good too but a little hot for sweet juice, and they consume more juice as well. THE best all around atty is the 2ohm 510 imo.
