Hello!
I'm new to this forum, so be nice.

I've been vaping for 2 years now and right now I use a RX200s together with an Avocado 24, and as a more portable I use a istick Pico with a Kanger subtank mini.

Now, the thing is that i'm starting to get interested in a squonking. I have no experiance of mech mods or hybrids because i've always been using regulated mods. I've read about both the Pico squeeze and the Coppervape BF and I think that one of them would be a good start for me. From what I can read, the Pico is safer for such a beginner in this area then the Coppervape. But I wounder to what degree is it safer? I mean, is eather of them a huge step for me to take? Or is it just me that is a bit scared when I think about leting go of all the security features om by regualted mods?

Kind reguards,
Ek

Hi Elk Lofan.

I have both the Pico Squeeze and the Coopervape BF Mod. Both are Very Nice Mods.

The Pico Squeeze does have some Built In Safety/Protection features. It would also be More portable if you want to carry it than the Coppervape.

As for a Huge Step? If you are Building your own Coils Now and have an Understand the Relationship between the Ohms of a Build and the Amp Draw placed on the Battery then it doesn't sound like a Huge Step for you.

Hi & welcome Ek.
I bought a Kanger Dripbox 60 and was not impressed. That's as far as I've ventured into squonking. I've heard others praise the Dripbox 160 and I think that's a full VW & regulated mod. After buying the 60 I don't think I'll be investing in any more Kanger products but that's just me and my opinion. Lots of other folks would disagree I'm sure.

If you only used/tried the BF RDA that came in the DripBox 60w Kit, then I would Agree with you. Because the SubDrip RDA (or whatever Kanger calls it) is So-So at best.

Really Like the DripBox 60w Mod. The included BF RDA, Not so much.

BTW - The BF RDA that comes in the Pico Squeeze Kit has some "2nd Generation" Improvements. And it is Not that bad. But there are Better BF RDA's out there.

In fairness. If 60w is enough and you change the RDA for something better then there's nothing wrong with it. It was a cheap introduction kit and left too many boxes unticked really i.m.o.

The big change really is that both of those are 1-battery mechanicals, as far as the "hit" goes.
You'll need to build a coil that gives you a vape you enjoy, using the batteries natural voltage - which will range from 4.2 when fresh to maybe 3.8 when you swap it out because it's getting weak. That could be a few hours to a day, depending on the rest of your setup.

Personally, it's my preferred vape. I have tried, more than once, and I just don't like
- tanks
- regulated mods

But that's me! I also don't like anything lower than 0.4 ohms, or claptons, or SS. Or menthol. Or bluegrass.

Anyway - either mod is a good deal for a starter squonker.
Either mod, I'd recommend also getting a better atomizer than the "kit" might include. Which one might depend on your preferences - but perhaps a clone Narda, or Hadalay, or even just a Velocity...

I was an Atomic RDA person for a long time and moved to the NarDa which I believe is the perfect squonking RDA. After building and using the Hadaly the NarDa may just have a run for it's money. The Hadley is so easy to build and the flavor is outstanding.

But this is coming from someone that prefers single coil builds.

there's nothing wrong with the kanger 60w mod, paying 30-40 for a decent semi-mech(it has safeties) squonk mod is nothing, just buy a better atty, same with the pico and their coral atty(same concept, slightly more expensive)... now regulated are a little harder to find lately. finding a dual bat.. even harder. I did find one for $127,000.00 ... yeah, you read that right, it's made of platinum. at least the 160w is avail.

I assume you mean hard to find in Canada?

I see the Dripbox 160 available from a number of locations.

I think I will pass on that Mod.

I think if you spend $127,482.84 for a Mod that you should At Least get Free Shipping.

talking about any other than the 160w... I did say the 160w is avail.

I just read the
"now regulated are a little harder to find lately. finding a dual bat.. even harder."

Which isn't hard at all. There are a number of Regulated single batteries sqounkers instock at many e-tailers.

The only dual batt I see available in most cases is the Dripbox 160, but they certainly aren't hard to find.
