Hi guys

I've got myself a BSB, got it about a couple of years ago. I only vape it at 6v. At 3.7v, the vapor isn't warm enough for my liking.

What I'm wondering is, is it time for me to replace my old SB? Or will a change in batteries do the trick?

I'm also looking at getting myself an EZ tank, since it looks so convenient.

But I'm very lost with LR atomizers! The tank needs cartomizers.

How/ where do I start?!

Currently I use e-liquid at 24mg strength, along with the standard 510 attys.

Help please!

This comes with everything you would need:

AltSmoke.com | Dual Coil 510 Cartomizer Tank XL - Tanks

It comes with:
1x Tank
1x Cartomizer
1x Drip Tip

I personally use the Dual Coil Tank on my SB, provides a great throat hit. Though we don't recommend people using 6v in the SB, I personally use 6v with the DC Tank.

Why! Whats wrong with the 6v vaping guys?! I absolutely love it!

I see your site doesn't encourage/ endorse it anymore?

Right. So the tank mod:

What is the carto life like? For the 510 attys, they last about 2-4 weeks each.

There's this mod called the 'EZ Tank'. You don't recommend that?

Appreciate it Halo!

P.s: I need to get myself one of those LR new coils you guys have.

P.p.s: Under good maintenance and care, how long should a SB last me for? A range? a year and a half to 3 years maybe?

For me, Carto Life is about 6-8 days is when I toss them out. Just because I feel they don't perform right or what not. A few of the guys have been running them longer. Atties I normally go about 1-2 months with dripping, but constantly flood the thing :)

The EZ Tank is still a good tank :)

As far as how long does a silver bullet last, it just depends. But we've recently had a few of the actual original ones (Yes they were numbered) come back for repair in the last month or two. :)

Great!

Still a little undecided as yet. I only vape at 6v. Did get the 3.7v batteries, but for some reason, the warmth and vapor was a lot weaker than what I'd get off a regular 510 bat. Maybe a bad batch of batteries? Not sure.

I'll keep going on this SB for a while; till I can have someone bring me a new one from the U.S.

I'm pretty much a constant dripper myself.

You guys don't encourage 6v dripping anymore?

Any particular reason?

I'd say a LR coil might help with the 3.7v vaping.

Man and I thought I had an Original SB, but mine isn't numbered. I've had it for about 2 years now and only ever used it at 3.7v. Currently using a Magma Tank with a 3.0Ω carto, but I like a cool vape.

FYI:

I just picked up one of these and it came in the mail today along with a new SB I ordered. I am using (x2) 3v Tenergy RCR 123A's which are brand new batteries I bought two weeks ago from BatteryJunction. The new SB works with a normal 510 atomizer and these batteries. I then tried this tank setup & atomizer on the new SB and it would not heat. I tried several sets of batteries, and still nothing. I tried it on my old SB, and nothing. At this point I figured I had a bad unit but gave it a shot on my Omega using the same batteries I had in the SB. It finally worked, but very minimally. I then tried it on my USB-BB and it was night/day; plumbs of vapor. I went back and tried it with the new SB w/ a single 18650; low and behold it fires up no problem. Strangely, I am getting the same amount of vapor with this setup and an 18650 then I would get if I was using (x2) 123A's [IE: High Voltage] and a normal 510 atomizer. It blows my mind and makes going back to vaping with 3.7v possible. If your like me and used to high voltage vaping, you probably thought it was not possible to go back to 3.7v; you would be wrong. Using this with the USB-BB is actually too much for my liking, something I have not thought possible now that I have been vaping for so long. Reminds me of trying to vape 50+ MG liquid only meant for mixing.

Anyway, I got the same results with the old SB & the 18650. I have tried a bunch of times in the old SB with the Tenergy, silver 123A's blue strip on the bottom, which are the new ones vs the old style Tenergy 123A's that are all baby blue color. If I replace the tank atomizer setup with a normal 510 atomizer, it works great but will not work with the tank setup. Yes all three sets of 123A's I have tried are fully charged, and again new batteries. Why it refuses to work with the 123A's but will work with 18650 is beyond me. Even stranger, I tried those old Tenergy's I mentioned (Baby Blue color) which have been through hell and back, now barely charge and probably should be thrown out before they explode and catch the house on fire; guess what? The tank worked great. Go figure. Maybe an amperage thing with the new Tenergy's, maybe its just the batch I got; who knows.

If you run into a problem, you might want to try a different kind of battery. I am not complaining, don't worry that will come in my review of Altsmoke later on tonight or tomorrow. Now that I have almost $500 worth of their products, and have been using them for almost two years, I think its time for an honest review. As I said, this tank setup however works beyond my expectations, (becides a little leaking) its just odd the tank atomizer is so fussy about which batteries feeds the beast.

If I come across any further anomalies, I will post them in this thread.

Hope this helps.

Sounds like you're using the protected 900mAh RCR123A's. The Cartomizers are Dual Coil 1.5ohm, it's more than likely tripping the PCB on the protected RCR123A's. Higher Resistance Dual Coil Tank Replacement Cartomizers may assist in that :p We'll be getting some in the near future for them, but the throat hit on those @ 6v is pretty intense...well with the 1.5ohm ones anyways :) I recently started using the AW 3100 18650's due to changing out the RCR123A so much with the DC Tanks.
