Hi
I am new to vaping and me and my husband are liking it. I was looking to find out more about it. There is so much to learn and the flavors lol. My biggest concern right now is getting of the cigarettes. I do have some questions though. Like nicotine poisoning? This is supposed to be a healthier choice helping us to get off the smokes but dont want to make ourselves sick doing to much.

I was never one to chain smoke. Near the end of my life as a smoker I would sometimes quickly power drag half of a cigarette and then put out the rest if I felt satiated or started to feel sick. I enjoy vaping more than I did smoking and sometimes I do have to put down my PV if I start to feel a little ill. It passes quickly and I have no worries about serious poising as I only vape 6mg juice. If you find that you start to feel sick before you'd like to stop vaping that's a good sign that you might want to reduce the strength if your e-liquid. I have some 100mg flavorless nicotine in the freezer to mix DIY in case of vaping Armageddon that would certainly pose a health risk if handled improperly, but I don't have any concerns about my handling or vaping reasonable concentrations of nicotine that we buy to vape.

I have seen something on mixing your own don't think we are quite ready for that. I got to say though hubby first thought he wouldn't like vaping. Then it was ok lets just do it til we get off the nicotine then stop that too. Now he is like ok lets order a new pen. I was the one going oh look how cool you can get.........now he is like ok lets get this and that and oh look...

Welcome!
Also, welcome to the Wide Wide World of Vaping!
You have found the right place here, people here are very friendly, knowledgeable and have all been in the same spot you are now. You can always lower your nicotine level of your juices and step down your milligrams. Getting off ciggys you will have all kinds of things happen.
When I started vaping I used 2 main flavors, Cinnamon Red Hot and Ripe Banana flavors. They were 18mg nicotine and they were strong. I went through having a sore throat, canker sores, bleeding gums, and Vaper's tongue. I couldn't taste any of my juices or anything for a while. I smoked 2 PAD for the better part of 30 years. Most of the symptoms are because your body is getting rid of the nicotine. Drink lots of water. It does get better in a couple weeks. Hang in there!

There's all kinds of shiny devices out there.
Go slow, it's hard I know, ask lots of questions.
There are no stupid questions.
A few things I can tell you from my personal journey are...
1. Find a juice or juices you like.
2. Have backups of everything, tanks & batteries if your serious about giving up smoking it usually takes more than one device to help you quit.
3. Make vaping easier than going to the corner store to buy a pack of cigs.
4. Don't think your going to save money in the beginning by quitting yet, I used my cigarette money to buy my juices, tanks and batteries.
5. Ask lots of questions and read lots of threads.
6. Be sure to have fun!
Good Luck to you and your husband! You can do it!

Well I started gaping 24mg and now I'm down to 18mg. There is a lot to learn and plenty of stuff to buy. I'm satisfied with what I'm using but my husband get shiny-itis all of the time. I have limited him to one new item a week. The best advice I can give is have back ups for everything (coils, tanks, batteries) and find juice you like.

When I first started I bought 1 tank, 2 batteries, a charger, and several juices; all from my local brick and mortar store. Within a day or two I had purchased another tank, another battery or two even, and another charger. This all ensured I had a charged battery at all times, a charger at home, a charger in my work vehicle, and enough juice on hand in the case I couldn't make it to the store for a day or three.

Hello, welcome to the forums. Yes there is a lot to learn about vaping but it is worth it! As for nicotine poisoning, as long as you don't drink the ejuice you should be ok. And you could always use ejuice with no nicotine at all if you like. Otherwise, there are a few different levels of nicotine ejuice available. 3mg,6mg,12mg,18mg,24mg nicotine ejuice are the basic ones. Most people start in the upper end and go down over time. I started at 24mg and am now down to 6mg. I suggest lurking for a while and absorbing the material available for newbies. Good luck with quitting!
