The card board would catch fire. You are talking about an explosive decompression of a battery at high heat. A metal case is good because it can stop both.
I think covering them with pieces of cardboard will do. At least the impact of the explosion is minimized. It's just a way of anticipating where the shrapnels would travel and stop them on their tracks.

That's the safest measure to take if you can bother. That's why I suggested also that you still have to attend them if you're using card boards. Card boards are not some kerosene or something that would easily catch fire. Would you rather risk being hurt by flying shrapnels or take the alternative mentioned?

I agree with you. Now where can I find an empty computer case?

The reports ive seen on the sacks are mixed. They dont recomend more than one or two batts at a time or one battery causeing another to go off can overcome the bag and set the whole thing on fire.

No, only one at a time on each outlet. But I have someone's KR808, a couple egos, an echo, a 510 all with different chargers in different rooms. That's why I thought the sac might be good. No?

SCARY!!!! Was the battery over charged at 3 1/2 hrs? Something I do is charge my batts for no more than 2 hrs. I write down the time they are ready from the time I plug them in. I check them periodically to see if lights have changed colors and if ready take them off early. I have a phobia about over charging! bnrk
