The only reason I could see getting the 30 watt I-Stick over the 50 watt is physical size the 30 is smaller but only has half the battery capacity of the 50 watt and truthfully the 50 isn't that much larger and is still a 3rd the size of my sigelei box. Here's the advantages of the 50 tho, way more battery life, 20 more watts of headroom for more advanced atomizer's down the road like a rebuild able drip atomizer. Now here's a device nobody mentioned but the IPV mini 70 watt which will allow for replacing batteries but will need a couple high drain 18650 20 amp minimum batteries and a intelli-charger.

Thank you very much to everyone who has responded. All the information has been a tremendous help and was much more than I was originally expecting to receive.

There were a couple posts with concerns about me doing the research for someone else – they are motivated to attempt the switch over to vaping, and I am just conducting most of the research to pass onto them as I’m a lot savvier when it comes to navigating around looking for this stuff on the internet.

After reading all the information, I had a few follow up questions:

1) I saw a couple posts recommending the iStick 30W over the 50W. What’s the difference between the two when it comes to the difference in wattage? Is it just the length of the battery of the two, or is there something more to the increase in wattage?

2) I saw a post or two about different coil sizes. How do you go about determining which coil size to use? Or is this something I shouldn’t be worrying about when new to all this?

3) I saw about having a backup battery. Does this just refer to having a backup iStick or is there an actually replaceable battery inside of it?

4) After reading through the posts, I was considering purchasing the iStick 30W or 50W, along with probably the nautilus mini. So, to complete my setup, what do I all need with my purchase? I would have to purchase the iStick, the Nautilus Mini, the juice, and I’m not sure what else, such as if I need replacement coils or any other parts.

Also, if there’s any other pieces of information that would aid me, feel free to let me know. I may be overlooking some things or getting in too much over my head as a beginner.

Thank you in advance for any answers.

1: ....
2: regular coils are like 1.5 to 2.5 ohm on clearos. Lower than 1 ohm is called 'subohm'.
You shouldn't have to worry too much about it; just look for regular coils.
3: the istick is a good device for somebody starting; it does not have a replaceable battery.
You just use it, and you plug in to charge.
Once you get settled in to vaping, you then upgrade to a replaceable battery mod, like a vamo, e-lvt, svd, zmax, provari, tesla etc; in which case you have to buy batteries - at least 2 (I have 6 - two fairly new, 2 middle aged, and 2 that are on their way out [about a year old]; I started with 2);
plus you need a charger for the batteries (I have two).

Whatever you do you want to have a backup plan, otherwise if and when you vape stops working you might end up going back to cigarettes.
