Hello Everyone!

My husband and I are semi-new to vaping, but learning a lot via these forums and the internet itself. As far as a bit of background, we started vaping around November/December last year with Joyetech 510 automatic mini e-cigs. We tried to use the atomizer set-up, but we decided that it is easier to use cartomizers and clearomizers. We both were medium to heavy smokers, and can proudly say that we have been analog cigarette free since January thanks to vaping.

We attended Vapefest in Rosemont, Illinois this year and learned a lot from everyone there. I purchased a manual Ego battery to try it out, and love the battery life, but hate the push-button. My husband hates the push button as well. We both have heard how much better it is to use manual batteries since there is more control of the vape, but we really love the ease and convenience of the automatics. At Vapefest, we were looking for a larger automatic battery, and came upon a great deal on the Joyetech 510 Megas, which are closer to what we were looking for, but not quite. We were hoping to find something like that, but in the size of an EGO. We came upon a very nice gentleman from CigNot said he some some auto-Egos in stock online. After I went home, I ordered one, loved it, but ended up killing it a few weeks later when one of the clearomizers leaked liquid into it. I am very sad as I really did like the battery life.

I came across some of these forums and saw mention of a Janty Neo that was automatic. I like the concept, but I wonder if it will have the same problem as the Ego Automatic I liked so much-mainly, if I end up getting a leak that it will die. Does anyone have any experience with the Janty Neo Automatic? Before we plop down $85-$100 on a kit, I would love to see if someone has had some experience with Janty first.

Thanks for reading this long post!

Welcome to ECF.

I cannot answer your main question as I've never had a Janty Neo Auto, but noticed you found one of the general weakness of auto batteries on your own.

Air flow activated switches have the drawback that juice can get in there and gum it up.
Sound activated switches have the drawback that noisey enviroments can cause them to go off from the external sound.

I got used to pressing the button pretty quickly and the only auto I tried had a horrible draw. (But it was a REALLY cheap auto.)

Good luck with your search.

I never tried this PV, but first off - there is a manual version of it as well: Janty electronic cigarettes, e-liquids and carts - Janty NEO Airflow Manual Silver Battery . If you have issues with autos, why not just consider the manual version. Auto batteries sound good in theory, but manuals are easy to use and more versatile across the board.

That said, the Neo Classic was quite hyped when it first came, so much so that I really wanted to get one, but then I just couldn't figure out what it has going for it except the looks. Look around for reviews. And here are a lot of positive comments: www.e-cigarette-forum.com/forum/jantyworld/256975-janty-neo-classic-new-product-back-basics.html

At the end of the day, it's an Ego-like battery (650 mAh, PWM @3.7V, I don't know what it puts under load) using a proprietary CE2-like clearo.

I assume you can get the same (or more likely better) results with an Ego-style higher mAh battery, true 3.7V, and using the one of the newer iterations of the clearomizer concept (such as the CE4+ or the likes).

I don't mean to bash the Neo Classic specifically, I just don't get what it is that it has to offer. I'm actually looking forward for opinions from actual owners.

Thanks for the suggestions and comments! I am checking out the thread you linked me to elfstone and I am working my way through it since there is a really good discussion about the Janty. I actually like the automatics, which is why I am looking for one, although I am doing alright with my manual battery Ego right now, I just would like an auto.

My husband and I have been using Joye 510-T Mega automatics with Joyetech branding, which have been redesigned to not go off with noise or air flow, and we love them. Of course, the battery life is shorter than I would like them to be, and we have to have a stock of them on hand for when they run down, which is why I am looking for an auto that is longer lasting. I am hoping that something has been developed similar to the Megas we are using, but in an Ego size, as I said, the newly designed automatics don't have the problems of going off in your pocket or with noise, so we do like them, but the battery life is still not great since they are so skinny and small.

Right now, I am using an Ego-T 1100 manual with the Stardust/Vision clearomizers. I love that the battery life is so long- I think I can go about 12 hours of straight vaping without a recharge (and this is the one that can hook up via USB and you can vape while it recharges and once recharged, pull the cord off and carry it with you). My main reason I love to have an auto is that I type for a living and I would like to have something automatic since both my hands are moving at all times- then I start to get an urge for a vape, and my rhythm gets all thrown off as I reach for the manual, press the button and have to kind of sit back and not be able to get back into that typing rhythm again until I am done vaping. It may sound silly or strange, but for me, how fast I type is how fast I get paid- hence my desire for an automatic with a long battery life.

Thank you both for responding! I look forward to reading more information on the forum and hopefully can contribute some information myself one day.

P.S. Just finished reading the thread that Elfstone provided- seems like people like the Janty and also the Janty autos, but the puromizers are the problem. I like using the Vision/Stardust clearomizers, so maybe I will get the Janty auto after all and use it with what I have already (510 carts/clearos). If I do, I will post a review of it :)

Thanks for the welcomes! Talked to my husband, and now he says he might want to do the manual e-cigs as he was using my ego-t and liked how it warmed up the juice before vaping. In retrospect, I can always use the mini cigs for when I am working, and probably save some money by not purchasing the Janty (manual or auto). Still in the decision phase, but no matter what we eventually use as our main PV, it sure beats smoking a real cigarette :)

Well... yes, as long as you are sure to have a main vape and some backups. Really, it's important to have something that you know works every time you reach for it, and something in the drawer to go to should the unthinkable happen. And something in the glove compartment if you forget your PV.

Good luck and happy vapes :)

I haven't personally used a Janty Neo automatic battery, but I did watch a review of it on YouTube, so you might hop over there and do a search.

I say if you prefer an automatic battery, go for it! Thanks to the informative posts of Charlz, txtumbleweed et.al., I just acquired an automatic Echo (the 650mAh version with 808-threading) and rather enjoy its simple operation while I'm driving with the Janty Kuwako attachment. The draw is a bit on the airy side, but the version I ordered from cropduster901 has a sealed connection, which has advantages and disadvantages. The upside is that there's no danger of juice leaking into the battery and ruining the device, but it also means that it probably won't work properly with a 510 adapter if I want to use a cartomizer that's threaded with a 510 connection.

The main criticism that people have with the Janty Neo seems to be the price, but if that doesnt bother you, I don't see a reason to agonize over the purchase. If you decide to order one from Janty, you may consider trying out their RY4 e-liquid. It's supposedly really excellent.

The draw does tighten up over time. You can pack the filler down a little in the carto for a tigher draw. You can still get juice in protected auto bats, just the airflow hole has been moved to the side instead of directly underneath the connector. I did put this to the test yesterday on accident. I put a ce2 in my pocket intending to be careful. but broke it while squating to pick something up. I didn't notice until my leg started itching. Everything in my pocket was soaked. My phone didn't make it but my battery still fires.

I've been on the lookout but so far haven't found a big auto 510 battery worth using. I just don't thing the demand is there. Even I prefer to button push when I'm using a 510 as all the hardware I use on 510s works better with manual batteries. The Janty neo has had few reviews and not a lot of good ones yet. Unless you go their own subforum where things tend to be a little one sided. Their Kuwako is awesome, even if it's only cosmetic. Makes an auto battery easier to grip and changes the way you think about vaping. And it's actually reasonably priced for Janty.
