Hey guys!

Just wanted to introduce myself! I've been vaping for a little over a year now, I quit the analogs after 7 years of smoking. Like almost everyone, I started on the eGo Twist's with EVOD tanks, rebuilding the coils in those after learning from a friend that you could. This helped transition me into buying my first mechanical mod, a Smoktech Magneto and a Kayfun Lite clone.

Today, I just picked up my new ADV setup - a Hana Modz V4d DNA40 box with a Hobo RDA. I also built a standard nickel coil - 10 wraps on a 2.4mm screwdriver, .09 ohm rest-read. I build coils in my free time, trying different twisted setups and I've just recently begun building Claptons (though they are a huge pain in the .....!).

Let me know what you guys think!

Welcome mate!

You've definitely got a nice setup, and I have a feeling you'd enjoy this thread:
http://www.e-cigarette-forum.com/forum/coil-builds/613433-dna-40-nr-nickel-builds-39.html

Since you need 5 posts to start posting in that thread instead of reading, how was working with nickel? And yes, claptons are a bit of work, but building one brings back that first-coil feeling. Hrm, I wonder if I could talk InvisibleHandy into trying a titanium clapton build...

hmm, don't know what I'd do with only 40 watts of power, hmm, probably end up selling or giving it away from lack of use :D Not into the temp control line of vape, more of a watt and total vape satisfaction kind of guy. Dial it in by taste, usually ends up at 50-70 watts, adjust as needed.

Have done may twisted style builds, but find a simple tension wrapped coil tends to be the money maker in me vape house.

vape long and Prosper.!!!!

Or....you could just throw that nickel wire in the trash (it's what I did with mine lol) and rock the DNA40 with titanium!!!! SO much EASIER to work with than ni200 crap (although bear in mind it DOES reqiure a spreadsheet to recalculate your temp settings)View attachment DNA40 Nickel Titanium sheet - Table(1).pdf

Alot actually...My initial collection was cloud blowing RDA's with high wattage regulated device's or mech mods and having the vapor flask DNA40 with some nice rebuildable tanks is VERY satisfying to me at 40 watts (I even run some at around 31 watts just cause it is better flavor)

a buddy of mine has the dna 40 and a hobo v2. He did a twisted 32 guage build with nickel wire and spaces the wraps and says its the best build yet on his works like a charm

I find the allen "grubs" on the hobo AMAZINGLY annoying, and with nickel (regardless of what RIP says lol) I myself hate trying to use any kind of screws and especially grubs for trapping poor little delicate dinky nickel wire...just IMO
