Hi everyone!

I am new to vaping. A couple years ago I purchased a set up from V2cigs but just couldn't keep up with it. They would always go dead on me at the most inopportune time. Over the past few months a guy I work with would walk through the office vaping and some of them smelled wonderful so I'd force him to share with me and began to enjoy it. Two weeks ago he helped me purchase the same set up he had. I wasn't going to mess around with the unknown.

From VaporBeast I purchased:
MVP20W
Aspire Nautilus
Aspire Nautilus Replacement BVC Atomizers
VaporBeast Awesome Chai Tea Latte 15L at 18mg nicotine
VaporBeast Mad Monkey Banana Nut Muffin 15ml at 18mg nicotine

When my set up first came I immediately set it up with the banana nut muffin because.. hello? Banana nut muffin.. I choked a couple times, messed around with the settings with the help from the guy at work and finally found a happy spot. It tasted a little chemically at first but guy from work said that happens sometimes when its a new juice. Two days in I was doing just great. Apparently I don't vape as much as he does. He says he goes through 5ml every day but it took me a week to get down to 3ml. By the end of the week my juice had turned almost black and it tasted absolutely horrible. I was trying to stick it out because I didn't want to waste juice but in the end I just couldnt.

So on Monday I dumped it out. Cleaned everything out the way he taught me, loaded everything back up with a new atomizer and the Chai Tea. The WORST taste I have ever had in my mouth! There really isn't even a way to describe it. I let guy from work taste and he thought the same. Again, I was going to try and suck it up but just couldnt so last night I dumped it all and switched out to a new atomizer then loaded more banana nut muffin.

It is absolutely horrible. It has zero flavor. Again, there just is no lady like way to describe it. Guy from work checked over everything to make sure I didn't screw anything up. Tested it as well and all he could say was, "Man, I am feeling so sorry for you right now." as I am forcing myself to vape this thing.

He has never ordered juice from VaporBeast before. I only ordered from there in the smaller bottles to try it out because I was ordering the other items. I've placed an order for some other sample bottles from a place he uses and in flavors I have vaped on his set up but those won't arrive for a few days.

Why is this banana nut muffin tasting so god awful now? It's from the same bottle I used last week.

I am so frustrated. I was still smoking cigarettes but I think it was more mental than my actual need for nicotine. I went from smoking a pack a day to smoking two packs the entire week. I actually went and bought a pack today because I just can't handle this awful taste and it's killing my throat not to mention after I try to vape I feel like my dog is sitting on my chest. I don't understand what is going on as it is the same exact set up he has.

Any tips? I did really enjoy vaping for two-three days after the chemically taste went away and before the major yuck came in when the juice went black on me.

What wattage setting are you at?
If you are running the 1.8 ohm coils I suggest 7.5-8.5 watts.
Also make sure you are on the most open airflow setting on your nautilus.
It sounds to me like you are scorching your juice.

Oh and welcome to ECF!!

I was thinking the same thing, I have a higher VG juice I mixed myself in my P3 Nautilus hit it at 9.6 on my provari and it hits like an absolute dream.

I'm on 7.5, that was where I was when we found the happy spot before. We've tried it at all of the air flow options and all have the same taste results. I normally leave it on one of the medium settings because it's been absolutely killing my throat but I'll try to force myself to leave it at the largest setting if you think that will help.

Juice over time will cook in a tank, it happens to just about everyone. When I use tanks anymore I tend to go for small ones preferring to refill more often than deal with the other.

I don't know about Vapor Beasts juice, I do know for equipment they are a good shop, but I have noticed it seems to be either equipment or juice very rare for one to have both that I find good.

If your juice turns black in just a couple of days....It needs to be kept relatively cool (room temp) not next to a heater or vent and usually out of direct sunlight. That said, find out where your friend at work gets their juice and see if it's any better. Some places just have nasty juice and some are truly remarkable. It's not always an easy task to find someone with great juice. I might try to borrow some and buy them a new bottle when your new shipment comes in, you might run down to your local B&M and see if they've got something that tickles your fancy.

Thinking the same thing too, has to be the juice, there are many vendors out there that sell super high quality juice and that's the ticket here.

The juice was the only conclusion he could come up with too. I am just baffled that it was fine the first round but not the second.

My new juice, ordered from the same place he orders his juice will be here in a couple days so I'll just suck it up until then. The juices I got were never really "enjoyable" they were just.. eh, okay I can force myself to like this enough to not smoke.

He did educate me about making sure I kept the juice out of sunlight and away from heat so that has never been an issue.

Thank you for all the welcomes and for the input. I appreciate it greatly!

The way i read it, the darkening happened to the juice that was inside the tank, which is not uncommon if vaping a high flavor % juice on the same coil/head for a week, the dark color is coil gunk bleeding back into the tank/juice.

The only thing i can think of with the juice changing flavor is that the new coil didn't get quite primed properly and got a bit of burnt flavor imparted that, once its there, likely wont go away.

Best of luck!

Ooops, wrong thread!

I'll add something while I'm here. When I first started vaping one of my ADVs was a Banana Nut Bread from MBV. Despite the extreme steep times, I really enjoyed it. What I didn't like was that my coils were lasting 3 days tops, even with dry burning. I was replacing coils so often with multiple tanks that I forced myself to learn to rebuild them. Great learning experience.

My friend has a Nautilus and his coils are all dying prematurely. Could be older stock, as the Nauti coils were flawed in the first couple of batches, but he hates his nautilus despite it's popularity.

Oh yeah, and yes Banana Nut Bread and Chai Tea I'm sure are both dark flavors, and won't last as long as something a little clearer. It comes with the territory. Fruity flavors are lighter in color and the coils last longer.

Also, if you're running higher VG juice it's gonna gum up the coils faster.
