Welcome!!

BTW if you are using slim ecig cartomizers (the juice part of a 2-piece ecig setup) or tanks, I recommend the 80PG/20VG (fairly thin) option of Virgin Vapor juices. Thick juices can be difficult to use in cartomizers and tanks and may wick too slowly to prevent singeing. but I've heard their juices are great. If you bought thicker you could always thin them with a few drops of distilled water if necessary.

Some of my favorite places for juices - Vapor4Life (I use a couple of their WOW juices in cartomizers), Juicy Vapor, FreedomSmokeUSA (though their Specialties and Samples are all 50PG/50VG - I like a couple of those and drip them on an atomizer on a sealed manual battery, and I like a few of their Flavor range juices and tobaccos - those have selectable PG/VG), Purevapes, Velvet Vapor (their Raspberry Gingerale is very good). Gourmet Vapor - sign up there and shop during sales - sort of a crapshoot since many are customer creations but they have very good sales.

Welcome to ECF, Msjynx, and the wide, wonderful (and slightly wacky) world of vaping.
:vapor:

Most former 'lights' smokers seem to start with liquid in the 18-24mg range. The important thing to keep in mind is that the nicotine is absorbed at a much lower rate with a vaporizer - some have suggested that nicotine absorption from regular cigarettes is due to 'added ingredients' in the tobacco.

The degree of 'strength' that you get from a liquid - usually known as 'throat hit' - is due to many things. The ratio of PG to VG in the liquid, its nicotine content and the operating temperature of the atomizer or cartomizer can all play a very significant part.

My advice would be to start at 12mg and move up or down according to what controls your cravings and satisfies.

Good vendors for well-made, flavorful and well priced liquids include Madvapes - one of my personal favorites.

Enjoy!

Congrats on switching to vapor, Msjynx! I smoked ultra lights for about 20 years, 2 PAD. I tried 11mg at first but I found I was always craving. So, when I got my starter kit, it came with a free 5ml bottle and I chose 24mg. It made me a little woozy! So I went back and got 18mg and that seems just right for me. If I am especially stressed or having trouble falling asleep, I'll drip a couple drops of the 24mg.

So, I would suggest getting small bottles of a couple different strengths in flavors you enjoy. I think how much you smoked may be as important as the strength of cigarette that you used when choosing the strength you vape.

smb2886, I've seen beer flavor somewhere. I'll see if I can find it again and post the link. :)

Also have another question about nicotine mg. If you smoked ultra light cigarettes, what do you think the right nic concentration would be. When I puchased my Ecig, I received e liquid with that and it was 8mg, I was thinking it may be a little strong!!

There are too many variables involved to make more than a wild guess.

My wife and I both smoked the same cigs, the same number of them per day. They were DoubleDiamond full flavor menthol. We chose them because they were horrible, and we figured it was easier to be strong once at the time of purchase than it was to be strong 30 times a day. It had worked fro us in the past to quit, so we tried it again.

We started at 12mg. It wasn't quite doing it for me in the beginning so I moved up to 24mg. She, on the other hand, had to immediately drop down to 6mg. Different people, different smoking technique.

I sometimes chain-vape 24mg with no noticeable effect. Yesterday, I tried a new vaping technique. New to me that is. I was using my familiar juice, but in a weaker 18mg strength. OK, it kicked my ..... I had to set the PV down. Vaping style - yet another variable.

When I vape my wife's 6mg, i'ts like flavored air to me. Anything is possible, but I don't think 8mg would be too strong. Have you had any problems with it so far? Over-nic symptoms I mean?

msjynx welcome to the forum. :) I wish I could help you with any advice on flavors but I have only tried one, choco mint and its really minty! I have cherry, vanilla, and chocolate coming that I ordered so I'll let you know about those. I got mine from litecigusa for $4.25 for a 10ml bottle they are dekang liquids. Don't really care for the choco mint but am hoping the others will taste good! I smoked 1 1/2 ppd and get mine in 16mg bottles!
