Hey my name is Kaylor. I'm 23 and started smoking cigarettes at 14 I've been a pack-a-day smoker since I was 17ish. I decided to make a change, currently two weeks without a cigarette and using a borrowed vape pen in that time.

I plan on buying a vape pen for myself next week. And input for good batteries/clearos and such are welcome. Basically has to be portable and has to work good. That is for any advice in advance and hello to everyone!

P.s. I picked this forum to join because every search I've done has lead to an answer here. Seems like a great place with a ton of info.

Hello and welcome to the forum. Glad to have you here!:)

If you are interested in learning more about e-cigarettes (and all the parts and pieces) below are some blog posts by ECF member Baditude that I highly recommend for someone new to vaping and/or looking to upgrade.

1. A Good Starter's Setup for a Beginning Vapor
2. Advancing Up the Vaping Ladder with Egos and Mods
3. Proper terminology - Is it a carto, a tank, or what? A Guide to Juice Attachments.
4. Something Safe for Cinnamon and Citrus Flavors

Now for some possible options for you to consider:

1. JoyeTech Ego-C Twist
2. Vision Spinner
3. Innokin iTaste vv v3
4. Innokin iTaste MVP v2

The first 3 are fall into the "ego style" category of battery. They range in size from 600mah to 1300mah. The higher the mah the longer the battery will last between charging. The 4th one is a step up from an "ego style" battery in that it is a smaller box mod with a very big battery (2600mah). It will last many vapers a whole day before it needs recharging. It is probably one of the most popular batteries for someone upgrading from an "ego style" battery. Some vapers choose to buy one "ego style" battery as a backup and also purchase the MVP for their main battery.

You will need to purchase a tank (the juice attachment) with the first three on the above list. The mini Nautillus, mini Aerotank or regular size Aerotank (all made of glass) are very popular. The MVP comes with a tank but it is not glass.

Read all the links, google some of the batteries, and once you have narrowed down the field, we will be able to give you recommendations for websites where you can purchase products (if you don't have a vape shop nearby).

Hi Sharpie, and welcome to the forum. You're right about the info on this board. I've been visiting here for a few months now, and I've only scratched the surface for all the info this site provides. So much great info to help you navigate through the world of vaping. Congrats on taking the first steps for kicking the habit.

Ok, it was a lot (but I appreciate every word) to read. I got the basics of it down, I'm not interested in a mod at this time. Being a mechanic it wouldn't survive a week with me lol. I Definitely think going for the "ego style" pen would be a better fit for me. A couple batteries a couple tanks and attys and I should be good. Trustable websites would be great as there are very limited shops here and prices are ridiculous.

I'd recommend the mvp2 best bang for the buck, but for a pen style, look for the itaste vv v3 instead.
