Everyone has been so helpful and friendly although I am struggling with some of the terminology being so new lol x
If you are interested in learning more about e-cigarettes (and all the parts and pieces) below are some blog posts by ECF member @Baditude that I highly recommend for someone new to vaping.
Here are a few more links from New Members Information <= Link covers many topics. Here are two of them:

Sub tank!!! That is what I want to get they are just so expensive!!!

They are a bit on the costly side, but they can be had for a good price with coupon codes and sales. I rarely pay full price for anything.

I check this site first, before doing my shopping, Vapecrawler

Thank you for such a warm welcome ;-) no I live in the UK or I would have bitten your arm off for spares!!! Thank you for the very kind offer. Everyone has been so helpful and friendly although I am struggling with some of the terminology being so new lol x

I would definitely suggest then, watching the new members forum for prize contest announcements. MANY generous manufacturers have given away literally over a thousand devices in just the last 4 months or so.

Also, there is a sub-forum for retailer give-away's, and while those are usually anywhere from 1 to 20 devices at a time, STILL very worthwhile participating in. SOME people have won SEVERAL devices here.. ;)

There is also a PIF forum, exactly for people such as yourself. New vapers on a budget who are in need of backup devices or more effective devices.

I myself have the exact same issue. I can only do straight lung hits, and they're long lung hits--I'll often time out my device. I've tried doing mouth-to-lung, but usually only succeed in choking myself.

Unfortunately our style of vaping does lead to the leakage issue. As others mentioned previously, the answer to that problem is airflow. But balancing airflow and vapor can be a lot of trial and error.

And trial and error can get expensive.

BUT! Look at it this way: What you'd spend on a decent starter kit would be about the equivalent of two weeks worth of cigarettes (at least where I live). And the kit could last years. In the end, it is definitely worth it.

As an alternative, do you have friends or family who vape? If so, chances are they have spare goodies that they'd be more than willing to let you try.

Don't get discouraged. It can be frustrating at times, I know. But once you find something that works well for you, you'll never look back.

Hi @Sweet chaos

You have to be careful with Vapouriz I'm afraid.

The "Pro" Variable wattage battery is OK (maybe even good), but the tank it comes with is only average.
Most of the seemingly cheap stuff they sell is rubbish. To escape the low quality stuff, you need to get a better tank system. You don't want to be buying that from Vapouriz.
Everything is much too expensive. They are full of hot air.
PLEASE shop elsewhere for tanks, liquids and accessories.

The 'clearomiser' they charge £6.99 for is a £2.99 unit. You can actually buy from China for £1.09.

Like many 'brand' stores, they take other people's products, have China put nice artwork on them and charge double.
That's not such a difference on a £34.00 kit, but as the range increases in price so does the extra they charge you.

I'll revisit this thread tomorrow.

:)

Thank you, I got the battery in the sale so it was only £15 but I wouldn't buy it at full price. My local vape shop seems quite expensive on some things. I tried one that was called a cross fire or something fire and the difference in the amount of vape I got was astounding and so much more enjoyable but they said a basic set up I am looking at about £60. Thank you for your response :)

I have to inhale too - I can't do the mouth-nose thing. AND I get sore throats. I try to help this by taking shallow sips, rather than big inhales. It does help a bit.

I also practice not inhaling sometimes, hoping it will become more comfortable. :)

Good luck!
I am trying the shallow sips but doesn't feel right lol. Thank you for your reply ;-)

I to choke myself when I try and smoke it like a cigarette, straight to lung is the only way it works for me. Thank you for your response :)

I'll add in, once you dole out the extra quid for good gear, you save more long haul. It truly does teeter itself right out as rain. Do not fear looking at off name brands though. You may get pleasantly surprised over how well some is made. I recently got stoked over a nice little 30 Watt mod with an off brand name. It is built solid, nearly is a 20mm grenade tube. Hehehe.

Now I'm telling the boss lady last night, "oh, oooooh aaaahhh they gots a 60 Wat model of that one out now. I ma gunna gits it, woe man am ye ain't stopping me."

To which she flatly replied, "that's nice dear".

Sometimes, I have to wonder about this boss lady ...

Interesting. Glad to hear you only paid £15.
Local Vape shops can be expensive, depends what you buy.
£60 buys a lot of hardware these days. My current favourite set up is an eVic mini VTC (that's the mod) with something called a Kayfun Monster.
The eVic was £37, the Monster £10 and the IMR battery (LG) about £5. I make that £52. I would happily have paid £70-£80 for that in a shop, no problem.

Things are much better than they used to be. Ages ago, lots of us all bought something called an Innokin MVP version 2 for £29.99. (Don't buy one now!!)
I saw them in shops for £79.99 and on the internet for an astonishing £109.99. The 'brands' that used to rip people off like this just kept getting away with it.

Vapouriz were like this a year or two ago. They came on a forum and advertised their "his and hers Christmas special kit" for £59.99 saying it was reduced in price from £89.99.
I started an argument with them, as I knew exactly what every component of that kit was, and it came to £42 (that's with profit, not wholesale). They told me I was lying about the where their products came from (Kanger, in China)... actually, they just got themselves banned from one of the top UK forums for e-cigarettes.

I visit Vape shops. I buy stuff. You have to judge things on merit.

If money matters to you, just ask and we'll do our best. Nearly everything being sold is available elsewhere for less or more money. Mostly it doesn't matter, but as the kit gets more expensive, getting over-charged is common. I know someone who bought a mod this week for £99.99.
I could have got it in the UK for about £35.

Sad really that the industry is like this. Nobody would charge £200 for a smart phone you can buy in Asda for £70.

Money is a concern, I have five children and have switched from smoking roll ups which was costing £10 a fortnight so this is a bit more expensive and money is stretched as it is and the thought of forking out more is not possible. My mum had very kindly been getting my bits for me so far but I can't ask her to spend that kind of money on top. She is just pleased I am off cigarettes!! I have not found many giveaways but have registered with the ones I have found lol. Thank you for your reply :)

Yes, I can see the issue. I smoked roll-ups and vaping is costing me more. BUT, there is light at the end of the tunnel.
The cheapest way to vape is rebuilding the atomizers and buying inexpensive liquid. I vape a lot of inexpensive stuff (during the day)... but have some medium priced and posh liquids too.
If you want to keep it simple, try to find a nice liquid vendor; I use LT e-cigs where you can get 30ml for £5.50... some people use LiQuid, but I find I only like the tobacco ones.

Yes... it seems difficult. There are different levels of making a coil and wick.
I wasn't saying you should do it, only it's the cheapest option.
What you need is a little tank that consistently delivers and you replace the atomizers once a week for about £1.50, ideally.
It can be done. Might involve some research.
Eleaf GS Air tank? £10 on the internet. Don't know if you can get cheap coils (atomizers) but even at £9 for a 5 pack, you might keep it cheap. :)

Would this one work ok?

I probably wouldn't choose that, no. The iStick 30w is a nice fixed battery mod, but the subtank that comes with it might well be fake.
Do you want a subtank anyway?
I don't know. I tried the cool fire in my local shop and really liked that one bit I don't know what if it is a sub tank? Sorry I am very stupid when it comes to all this, need to find the time to do some research. I really do appreciate all your help.
