I would strongly second picking up a disposable. You can use them for emergency backups when your G6 arrives. njoy Kings and White Cloud Flings are other brands I see suggested fairly often. The number of cigarettes they claim to replace is more like 5 to 8 rather than what is claimed on the package so keep that in mind.

I also agree that it is a good idea to wait to prioritize quitting completely until you are feeling satisfied with the vape you are getting from your gear and juice. Associating nic cravings and feelings of deprivation with a behavior you wish to reinforce such as vaping is counterproductive.

What nicotine strength did you order?
Also, what flavor(s) did you get?

I was never a menthol smoker, but I really like Halo Mystic.
My favorite though has been Tribeca for quite some time now.

You don't often run into people that DON'T like Tribeca.
:)

I got the 18mg menthol X and a 5 pack of sub zero menthol, 18 mgi also apparently got the liquid menthol with an order over 20 bux lol.

SubZero?
That stuff is hardcore.

Since you're a menthol smoker, you can probably handle it.
But I don't think it would be a bad idea to get a 12mg pack of Mystic to go along with it.
:)

correction. I ended up getting a trial liquid of menthol X but the 5 pack that came with my starter kit was the menthol Ice. I also decided to try the sub zero, didn't think it was THAT strong. hope I don't regret it lol.

anyways, the package arrived an hour ago and now im letting the battery charge. dang it, I want to try it lol

They say to let the battery charge for 8 hours. I find, and found, that to be slightly ridiculous. With all of the batteries I got from Halo I did let them charge for a few hours, after the light on the charger turned blue. But I certainly did not let them charge for the full 8 hours.

I have not found any of my batteries to die quicker than any other. In fact now that they are all about 5+ weeks old and been charged multiple time, some times for that 8 hours if I put a couple on the chargers before I go to bed, they seem to last a lot longer than they did fresh out of the box.

I did kind of follow the other instruction to use them for about 20 minutes then recharge them but I didn't let them set for an extra hour after the light turned blue. That was easier to do with the second and third set I got as I already had some to use. Vaping on one right now.

So if you need to, once it is charged start vaping. What can happen? If they die you can get new ones either through the warranty or by buying them.

welcome Ichihax, :toast:

- Kanger Evod Starter Kit

- Kanger Evod Starter Kit - Mt Baker Vapor - Electronic Cigarettes
- Kanger eVod Starter Kit by KangerTech

blu is underpowered
halo is proprietary

both seem fine and have following, but EVOD is the best, cheapest and COMPLETE KIT , IMO

just add juice

then as you learn and want/need to take the next step
EVOD kit is a wonderful back up
I still use mine and WISH I would have found it first...

:)

Halo is an 808 and not proprietary.

I was surprised by the way to charge the g6. sorta of cheap as in you connect the bat to a usb and then usb to adapter. no cord. oh well.

Actually I like that, No Cord. Most every charger I have for removable batteries has a cord. They just get in the way. With the larger batteries, eGo's, they are just to heavy to hang off a wall outlet.
You can Add a cord if you like. Any USB male to USB Female cord would make the part the battery screws into a remote device, IE away from the wall wart.

You can also plug that USB charger into your computer or most any USB female port that supplies power.

well I know that's cool, especially since the restaurant I got to has power outlets with usb at the bar.

Hi all,

thanks for having a wonderful forums where ive been reading these past few hours. I finally decided to switch after having someone let me try their blu e-cig. I liked it and I figured I would switch from analog smokes as a way to help me quit. I've been reading reviews on both and plenty of folks seem to dislike blu and praise halo g6 for us noobs. I would like some feedback from folks who might have tried both.

also:

When it comes to smoking analogs( as you guys call it) I vary. I smoke anywhere from a few a day to an entire pack(when out drinking). I can make a pack last me 2-3 days, but then theres a few days I got 1.5 a day (again when im drinking). When I was surfing the halos website, I was confused on the different mgs they have listed. I don't want to be more addicted, as that's my last goal. Ive been trying to figure out where to begin and would also appreciate feedback on this as well.

Thank you for your time folks

You liked it.
That's all that's important.

Just stick to Blu for a few weeks to get to cigarette out of your system.

Once you have Blu as an established fallback position, it means if you try something else and don't like it, you can fall back to Blu and NOT that burning smoke stuff; when you find yourself getting rid of ashtrays you'll be smiling.

Thanks for the response. I feel that while still new, I sorta want to do the prefilled types first and give it a shot. I was debating between going e-cig and nicoderm TBH. I don't want to spend too much money and hassle of learning to do setups, fills, worrying about ruining a refillable, etc.

One thing to keep in mind is the 510/eGo interface.

Halo does not use a compatible interface to the now industry standard of 510/eGo.
I'm not sure about blue.

I used a cigalike called Southbeach Smoke for a little while and I liked it, and would have liked to be able to keep that as a backup, but it's not 510 compatible; and the damn adapters to fix these problems are a pain to get.

Electronic Cigarette Compatibility Guide

The list below contains some of the most popular brands of electronic cigarettes and the model types they are compatible with. The most important aspect of compatibility is the connection between the atomizer/cartomizer and the battery. Each of the following types refer to a particular design of that screw-on attachment.

The vast majority of electronic cigarettes on the market now have either 510 or KR808D-1 threads, but are marketed as a brand name with no reference to the standardized connection. Sticking with one of these two makes it very easy to interchange parts and upgrade batteries or accessories. It is probably a good idea to steer clear of any electronic cigarette that does not use one of those standards.

510
Threads on battery are female, threads on atomizer/cartomizer are male.
Most eGo/Riva/VGo models have 510 threads, but with outer threads for a cone or larger cartomizer.
Also compatible with 306 models.
Brands: Volcano
Joye
Blu
Eluma

KR808D-1/E-8
Threads on battery are male, threads on atomizer/cartomizer are female.
Brands: V2 Cigs
Bloog
Vapornine
Volt / Smokeless Image
Vapor 4 Life (V4L)
E-Smoke
Premium
Halo G6
E-Smoker Online
South Beach
Bull Smoke
Mistic
LeCig D-1
Eonsmoke
Magic Mist
Eversmoke

KR808D-2/E9
Threads on battery are female, threads on atomizer/cartomizer are male. Smoke 51 Duo Model
E-Smoke
Green Smoke

DSE-901
Somewhat compatible with KR808D-1. Same threads, but may not make connection or draw correctly.
Threads on battery are female, threads on atomizer/cartomizer are male.
Brands Choice 7

RN4081

An older style atomizer and cartridge configuration
Threads on battery are female, threads on atomizer/cartomizer are male. Brands:
NJOY
Smoke 51 Trio
Safe Cig
Smokeless Delite

The above list is far from complete and will be added to over time.

All the cigalikes are a total waste of money with Blu being the worst of the lot , do some research here and get you a Spinner or Ego twist topped with an Aspire tank and some good juice , probably in the 18 mg range for starting out with , whatever you decide on get at least two of everything , it pays to have backups .

+1 here. I started with Njoy disposables and moved on to Blus. Take retic1959's advice and get the Aspire Nautilus and save yourself some time, money and headaches.

There are adapter to go from the Halo female threads on the cartomizers to 510 and to go from 510 to the to the male threads on the Halo batteries. you can't use the Auto batteries with one of them but if you have the manual batteries you can. I've actually run one of my Kayfun Lite +'s off a Halo G6 manual battery.

yup adapters certainly do *exist*.

can be a pita to get it though.

case in point
adapter to go from the Halo female threads on the cartomizers to 510
you yourself didn't even mention the halo interface whether it is kr808d1 or kr808d2 or whatever it is.
so the first problem is to figure out he name of the interface; then you got to figure out gender issues.

its a pita for people just trying to quit smoking.

half the time you're going to end up with the wrong one.

b&m's would do well to keep lots of adapters available to help customers get usage out of their devices.

im also looking at this menthol x liquid and im a bit sad that I cant try it until I get a refillable tank.
You don't need a refillable tank to try other flavors.
The cartomizers that come with your G6 are refillable.

There's a lot of information around here about how to do that.
And lots of videos floating around out there as well.
