Thank you everyone very, very much for the wonderful welcome and your awesome help! Hopefully I'll receive my kit in the next day or two. I'll be sure to post my initial impressions right away.

Per your suggestions, I just also ordered a few sampler packs, another box of wowboy carts, as well as an XL battery (in blue!). Can't wait!!! :)

Welcome CanadianProf :)
Looks like you have a great start. Everyone here is very helpful and they are right on it if anyone needs a little help or advice.
Can I ask how did you pick your mg, was that what you were using on the other pv? Just wondering cause I'm an ex MUL smoker too. Everyone is different but, I started at 11mg, then 18mg, now 24mg and happy at 24mg. I still vape the 11's and 18's at night cause I can't seem to put the darn thing down :).

Everyone here is really helpful, and if you have any problems, V4L's customer service is top notch. Get a hold of them through their support ticket system, and they'll have you smilin' again in no time. XL's are fantastic, I like the extra oomph they give in vapor... and they last almost all day for me! Refilling is easy, and you'll save tons of money refilling the wowboy carts you've purchased. Just keep it wet until the flavor starts to change or vapor production cuts out, pitch it and start a new one. Drip tips are great too, I like having a contoured mouthpiece and it's too easy to pop off for refilling.

And flavors will change as your tastebuds change. If you don't like something now, cap it back up and try it again in a week or two. And just because it doesn't sound like something you'd want to vape, you might be surprised. I never thought I'd like the fruit flavors, but I have quite a few in rotation that I really enjoy. Wow Mango is tasty, reminds me of those gummy candy peach rings. I like to throw it into rotation between my regular all-day Premium Smilin' Special Menthol and Wow Peppermint. I love both of those! :vapor:

I completely guessed for my mg level. What I have now is a Fuma with 'ultralight' cartridges; it doesn't list the mg level. (Eeek!) Based on the comments thus far, it seems like I may have underestimated the mg level with my V4L orders; I'll just have to wait and see when my orders arrive. If worse comes to worse, I can always save the 11mg for night time (as you do), and then promptly order some more with higher mgs.

And I can't say it enough: thanks very much to everyone for making me feel so welcome. I sincerely appreciate it.

Everyone is different with the nic levels. I was smoking Marlboro Menthol Lights at a pack a day. I figured I'd be sucking on the e-cig more often since I could smoke indoors (I didn't smoke in my house), so I went a little cautious and started with 11's as to not over do it on the nicotine. I threw in a few 18's to try them, and I'm glad I started with mostly 11's. The 18's had a bit too much of a throat hit for me, and I much preferred the 11's. Now I'm down to 8's (except for my Wow Peppermint, it loses it's bite at 8 for me), and I hope to be down to 4's soon.. but I don't think I'm ready yet.

Everyone is different with the nic levels.

Absolutely! I was an Ultra light smoker, at a pack and a half a day. I figured I'd start with 11s with some 18s for cravings. 18s gave me heart palpitations, and because I had such a sensitivity to nic, as well as a proclivity towards chain vaping, I had a constant nic headache. I ended up at 4 and 0, using my 11s and 18s only when I have to stave off an extreme nicotine fit. Even now, when I overdo like I did yesterday, 4 will give me a nic headache.

Welcome to V4L! All great suggestions esp. about having lots of batteries. I started at 18 mg nic at first (was an ultra light smoker too ) and that was great, now I'm at 11 or 8mg during the day, but really like 4mg at night so i can sleep better.
Have fun with it and remember to clean your batteries once in awhile, that really help the performance. :)

Welcome professor!

Please be sure to check out these three "stickies" at the top of the V4L Forum page: "Welcome Mat," "Quick Easy Fix Tutorial," and "Sign up for Mailing List" (so you get sales/coupon codes e-mailed to you. V4L has sales ALL the time!)

Also, in case you didn't know, you need to be very careful not to overfill a carto or get juice in an automatic battery (juice will kill it); that's why many prefer to use manual batteries (they're sealed) or at least have one manual on hand for the first few puffs off a freshly refilled carto.

Happy vaping!:thumb::vapor:

Welcome!! So glad you found this area and still glad I did a few weeks ago. The people here (users as well as staff of V4l) are really knowledgeable but you already know that ;)

I started out with a smaller package - the pcc kit for 45 and a short battery (well, they are both short) Oh, how I regret not getting a XL -jealous of your purchase- The sampler packs (three that I ordered) was the best thing to try out as many options as possible for the price. Now I buy juice and am much less intimidated to order juice ive not tried yet because the reviews at the bottom of the product page (where you choose your strength) is usually dead on.

Welcome, Prof :) Everyone has given incredible advice and it's all very sound! I had a very "scattershot" first order - lots of flavors and nicotine levels and found 0-4 working for me (the higher levels were far too strong) -at least in the beginning, that is! I was a 2-1/2 pad smoker of an ultralight and needed to up my nicotine somewhat. Now it's from 0-11 and working fine depending upon my cravings. So take note of your responses in case you need to change nicotine levels :)

I recommend all the peppermint varieties (even though I am not fond of the flavor in other situations) as being a refreshing "all day" kind of vape. The peppermint wowboy is incredible! I also recommend the coffee shop sampler and the fruit samplers as interesting change-ups :) I'm also a big fan of cinnamon and clove. To be frank, I haven't met a truly bad flavor yet because V4L really takes pride in its product :)

Oh, and was it Genuinefraud who asked about the lemonade? I've tried it and it's very mild...by that I mean it doesn't "bite my tongue" the way real lemonade does. I have a bottle and blend it with other flavors to give them a little "kick" :)

Anyway, please let us know how you like your products :) We love to share reactions!

Welcome! Don't be surprised if you end up upping your nic level. I was a ultra light smoker and started with 11 and ended going up to 18 and have some in 24 for the bad nic moments. I also recommend getting some of the sampler pacs. Also, the 1st couple weeks, the pass through was really a life saver! Your going to love v4l. Great company with great service.

good advice. my only add ?

wowboy is great, you will like it. vanilla is great, you will like it. i found things i really liked and bought LOTS of the flavors i liked. not really a good thing when new products are on the horizon.

they came out with VG wOw flavors and juice...this stuff is ridiculous. all i want now is VG.

VG wOw Coffee and VG wOw Cowboy are both amazing. VG wOw Vanilla is twice as good as regular vanilla IMO

Welcome to the family! I have a couple of tips to add. Go to Home Depot or a craft place and find a nice tool box, empty container of some kind to keep your vaping stuff. Juice should be kept cool, not cold and in a dark place. It's also a safty issue if you have kids or pets.
Another tip, grab a tobacco pouch, a diabetic bag (empty), camera bag ect. Something small for when you go for a drive. Small enough to tuck under a seat or put in a briefcase or purse. I keep my case or PCC in one also because I like to carry a bottle of juice, a car charger and whatever! Last but not least..When you go out and vape carry your V4L cards! People will notice and ask you what you are doing!
Welcome again.

Yay! Thanks again everyone. That's a great idea to find a nice box or container in which to keep my vaping stuff; I definitely wouldn't want my two darling little beagles to get into it! Also, I just went into the closet in my home office and dug out a couple of old camera cases; they even have a few tiny compartments in them which will be very useful. Awesome tip, Mary Kay!

I'm *really* hoping that I get my kit in the mail tomorrow. I have only one cart of the sub-par stuff left that I'm vaping now but more importantly I'm super stoked to try the V4L products! DawnsFolly, I'll definitely be stalking the mail carrier tomorrow!!

V4L cards?!? I'll search that now!

:)

I also meant to add that I started with 11mg and some 18mg..the 18mg was too strong for me. I vape lower levels and even 0 nic at times. Lots of people prefer to vape lower at night so they can get to sleep. 11 never bothered my sleep..I always stay up til 3am!
Everyone here is different. some need 36mg and other like 4 mg. You will find your own level. Don't be afraid to experiment! Another thing is if you get some juice that is too high for you like 24 mg..then get a bottle of 0nic and cut it in half.
Glad the camera bag idea helped. Oh when using an auto..lay it down between vaping sessions..don't store it with the carto on upright.
