The NiteCore I2 is a good charger. I have one and it will monitor your batteries charge I believe in 3 different states and shut off when finished. It does this separately for each of the two battery slots. What you don't want is a non-intelligent charger that won't necessarily shut off and can overcharge your battery leading to a fire. NiteCore I2 isn't one of those and you are fine with that.

The whole battery thing confuses me and I usually ask before purchasing. I know you want an IMR battery and not sure if those are IMR or not...that's the part that confuses me a lot. Those also look like protected batteries which don't work in a lot of mods as the chips inside them take care of that for you. You want to explain which device you are using and I'm sure other my battery knowledgeable people will be on the way to help out.

EDIT: I just now noticed in your title you mentioned what you were using Vamo V5. I'll go find the batteries I'm using for those...just a sec.

Edit 2:
I think this the current brand I am using for my Vamo V3 which should also work in the V5 just fine.
Panasonic CGR18650CH Rechargeable 2250mAh 3.7V 18650 Lithium Batteries
Again my want to wait until expert shows up.

which is the best type to buy? can someone link me to batteries/charger on amazon? so far ive got these two; http://www.amazon.com/NiteCore-IntelliCharger-i2-Charger-charging/dp/B009JMDD9U/ref=pd_bxgy_e_img_y Amazon.com: Two Panasonic NCR18650B 3.7V 3400mAh Rechargeable Li-ion Batteries QTY 2: Electronics no clue if thats right. any help would be great. thanks!:)
The charger is excellent but I would suggest high drain batteries to supply enough power , try these . http://www.amazon.com/Sony-Us18650v...91725335&sr=8-2&keywords=sony+18650+batteries

I know this is a lot and I'm not even familiar with it as 6 month vapor. As said I usually just ask before making a purchase if they are safe. Someone will stop by soon enough and tell you. If you want I believe baditude is kind of known as the resident battery expert. You could start with these. I get glossy eyed but still it's better safe than sorry. I think for the most part as long as you aren't doing sub ohm and are using a regulated mod and using an intelligent charger you should be safe.

As for the types that you can use in the I2 I think it's all but one type...let me try and find google it.
    http://www.nitecore.com/productDetail.aspx?id=52
    Compatible with:
    Li-ion: 26650, 22650, 18650, 17670, 18490, 17500, 17335, 16340(RCR123), 14500
    Ni-MH / Ni-Cd: AA, AAA, C

The Intellicharger i2 is a universal, automatic smart-charger compatible with almost all types of rechargeable batteries thus eliminating the need to own several chargers. The i2 is able to automatically identify Li-ion, Ni-MH and Ni-Cd rechargeable batteries and apply an appropriate charging mode (Constant Charge Current (CC), Constant Charge Voltage (CV) and Trickle Charge). Each of the i2’s two micro processor-controlled charging slots is capable of monitoring and charging batteries independently. Additionally, yellow and blue power/charging status indicator lights could visibly indicate battery status and charging process. i2: The all-new highly advanced smart charger. It’s as simple as insert, detect, and charge.

Some where in my user's manual which I think I threw away ;) I thought there was one type of battery that said you shouldn't use. But any of those listed above are safe to charge.

The Nitecore charger is a good one BUT the batts Amazon.com: Two Panasonic NCR18650B 3.7V 3400mAh Rechargeable Li-ion Batteries QTY 2: Electronics are not the proper batts for an APV/ Vamo as mentioned by retic1959/ Post #3.

From Bad about the batts you are considering.
"No. Not these. These are not a high drain battery. They only have a 6.8 amp limit. You will never see the full potential of your mod with these batteries."
More mah does not necessarily make them better.
Here's a list of proper batts. I use the Panasonic CGR18650CH 22550 in my Vamos:

Those are good and so are the sony batteries I mentioned in post 3 , the sony batteries have a higher amp rate and would be fine for a mech as well , but yes those panasonic batteries are fine for the vamo .
