Hi, I just started using a cape a (itaste MVP), my niece got me on it lol. And I do like it, I am 58yrs old & been smoking since I was 9, II have tried every method you can think of to quit, but nothing worked. But with the cape I have done awesome, even my husband says I don't snore or gurgle in my sleep.
My question though is, I see so many ppl doing and they have a huge cloud of smoke come out, and mine doesn't. Can anyone tell me what I am doing wrong?
thank you

Your doing nothing wrong. Its just the type of equipment they use. High wattage, big airflow, high VG juice, low ohm coils and so on. If your goal is to stop smoking the clouds are not a necessity. Getting the nic level right and making you comfortable is all that matters.

This is great advice. For quitting smoking you don't have to blow huge clouds. I vape at 8 to 12w and higher Nic 18 mg :) more like smoking to me :)

hi TJPam and welcome to the forum. Congrats on your vape journey! I'm 56 and not interested in the clouds, nor do I need a sports car. Anyone can make big clouds if they want, just get the gear, it's not some special vape magic. My comfort is in flavor and the fact I'm not smoking a cig.

Sounds like you're pretty new to vape so I'll post this link for you to reference if needed.

A list of symptoms when quitting tobacco and changing to an ecigarette | E-Cigarette Forum

You'll need to get 5 posts in to access other areas of the forum. A reply in this thread or another new members thread will count towards the 5. Then after you have 5 posts in , AND, at half past the hour the forum resets/updates and then you'll have full member access.

Don't be shy about any questions you might have as there are many helpful vapers here willing to offer good advice.

Good luck in your continued vape journey!

Congradz on quitting smoking!

If you want to blow big clouds just to do it, it mostly comes down to what kind of vaporizer you have. Say you get a istick 50w and a kanger subtank mini with 0.5 ohm coil heads for it. Get some higher vg juice like maybe 30pg and 70 vg ( I recommend staying around 6mg nic and not going any higher in nic level.) You could run this at like 30 watts or so and it should produce some bigger clouds. It's not really necessary but I to love making big clouds of vapor for fun.

What really matters is if your just happy with your current vape. As long as your not smoking those nasty cigarettes you've already won.

Hi @TJPam and welcome aboard!

+1 on not needing big clouds to get off cigs. Bigger clouds also usually (not always) means that you should lower you nic percentage in your e-juice, since more vapor is getting into your system on each puff.

Hope this helps and Happy Vaping!

I also want to point out, and this is my opinion ONLY, based on my own experience (such as it is) that it might be impossible to "blow big clouds," depending on the status of your lungs. Pam, you've been smoking for a lot of years. I'm 57 and started when I was 13, then went to full time (two packs a day) when I was 16. I physically can NOT handle a vape at higher than 12 watts, regardless of the nic level. I have some juice that has 1.5mg nic, and 12 watts is the max I can do without it feeling like I just inhaled a piece of metal screening. Maybe in time my lungs will heal and I'll be able to handle a hotter vape, but right now it just ain't gonna happen. Besides, I'm happy being a tootle puffer, just staying off cigarettes. THAT is the most important part.

Anyway, like @dc99 said, you're doing nothing wrong. You're doing everything RIGHT, in fact, if you've managed to quit smoking. I'm STILL amazed that I was able to quit. I never thought it would be possible. Every day I wake up NOT coughing, and able to take a deep breath without a painful hitch and a cough, is like a miracle to me. You GO, girl!

Welcome @TJPam :) You've found a lovely home here.

I do like fluffier clouds once in a while, but if I'm out and about, I don't want to draw huge attention, so I "tootle puff" (there's a whole thread here: Are YOU a Tootle Puffer?? | E-Cigarette Forum) This thread was started by a more experienced vaper who's been around the block once or twice - when the equipment wasn't really intended for cloud chasing - it was intended to help a smoker quit smoking death sticks.

As I've progressed, I am finding that there is some amusement in chucking, but I'm still pretty conservative in my attempts. I've upped my VG, and even in my daily gear, I do get more "cloud satisfaction" without pushing any safety boundaries.

So, what I'm discovering is that there are multitudes of ways to enjoy vaping. Besides not having smoked a cigarette in almost 18 months (and not hacking up a lung every morning or wheezing or having colds mutate into bronchitis on a regular basis) I've found an amusing and educational hobby (something I've lacked in my life for quite some time....)

Plus, I've met some incredible people here in the forums. Best wishes to you - hang out here, and cigarettes soon will be a distant memory :)
