Hi guys i've been vaping for 3 weeks and this is the 1st time I tried a cartomizer. So I watched pbusardo's recent video on how to prime cartomizers and did exactly what he did so now I'm kinda getting that plastic taste on my carto even though its saturated. Is this normal? Using a boge 2.0 xxl carto btw.

I get a chemical taste w/ every carto I've ever tried. Filled w/ condom method and from the top while turning, let em sit overnight sometimes and it's always the same. Tried at least 5 kinds including boge and couldn't get past it, finally resigned and looked for alternatives.

Boiler's right I guess, some ppl can just taste the polyfill for some reason. My advice is try another couple and if it's still there move on. I LOVE my new kanger protank btw and tell everyone to get one now lol but it really is awesome so maybe try one of those, a T3 or evod, vivi nova and whatever else u can afford to find what you rly like. Clearos are much cleaner tasting imo, don't know what u were using before but if u cant use cartos ul probably feel the same. The best throat hit and flavor tho comes from dripping - a 306 bridgeless is the best imo (w/ the exception of rba's i hear which I haven't gotten into yet).

in my short experience, i think that chemical/plastic taste is going to be inherent in all cartomizers simply because of the polyfill thats soaking up the juice. or even if there isnt a chemical taste, the flavor is still going to be muted. it just doesnt go away. so if your willing, ditch the cartos and use any mod that uses a wick. it will taste much better

I too just don't like cartomizers. I've tired, several different kinds, with tanks, without tanks, 2 holes, slots, DCT, single coil, ranges of ohms from 1.8ish to 2.8ish, in every voltage range my ego twist offers. I just can not get the same flavor out of them as I can out of a clearo, and there is always a background muted chemical/plastic hint to every vape. I try them again every so often, I just put a tank together last weekend, as I was thinking I might like a Phiniac tank for my citrus juices, but I just can't find the sweet spot for vaping them. That's not to say I won't keep trying now and again, just that my ADVs are in Kanger T3s and Vision mini Novas.

I've pretty much decided that it's much the same as juice flavors. Two people can vape the exact same thing, and get two totally different experiences. Such is life.

Congrats on 3 weeks!

I find flavor from cartos is VERY hit or miss. Some will be pretty good, others will be like vaping steam with almost no flavor to speak of.

I don't find clearos to be any better though. Every one I've ever tried has been just as inconsistent and muted as your run of the mill carto.

Because it's an XXL carto you'll have a hard time getting juice to the bottom/ battery end of carto. I also use the PBusardo vid to fill cartos. After filling via the PB vid place a condom over the batt end of the carto and "thermometer" shake it. Put a few more drops in and shake again. Do this 2-3 times and then attempt to vape.
Realize 1 ml= approx 20 drops.
Best of Luck.

I've only experienced the taste you mention when I failed to blow out a new Boge carto. Even when nothing shows on the tissue it must dry fast and is too clear to see because there is some lubricant or something in there that I've only tasted when I forgot to blow it out first. After blowing out, I then condom fill from the mouth side. Then I place the thread side condom on after that and sit it thread side down until there are no more bubbles showing through the condom on the mouth side. Works for me.

creeped out by cartos in the beginning, but it seems to be my go to unit. when they are primed correctly, i have no complaints. vg doesn't wick well i notice, and tend to dry hits. i stick to mostly pg in my juice to avoid this. also higher nic content can give a pretty intense taste. i will say i never had one give out on me at work. i change them often to avoid disappointment. too much at stake to worry about a few dollars.

im having bad luck with boge cartos im using Blu batteries with johnson creek ejuice so i continue the cartos i drip till they are wet on top let it set for for a min put it on my Blu battery i hear a gargle sound very lil vape some so i unscrew it blow i get about 2 to 4 drop out of male end out of the lil holes then i start to vape again about 4 hours and get a funky taste dunno if burnt or plastic but im getting ...... about this it every time thing i get about 30 to 40 good vapes is that normal

Buy a syringe and 18ga sharp or 20ga blunt needles. Push it in outside of the polyfill and inject until it comes out the bottom hole. Blow through it a couple times and you're fully saturated with only one or two drops of spillage. It's quick, easy, and cheap. I think all the time required with the drip or condom methods is ridiculous when you can run down to Tractor supply and walk out with a couple 3mil syringes and a 5pack of 18ga sharps for under $5.

Regarding flavor and throat hit, I find cartos to be on par with my genesis style tank and better than clearos.

on the gurgle, yes either over-filled slightly or didn't wait long enough for filler to absorb all you put in... they hold one mil so depending on the size of the bottle hole, that can be anywhere from 18 to 25 drops. 30 to 40 (never counted) draws sounds about right before a top off of about 15 drops is needed. but this too is user dependent, some draw more than others. if you didn't top off, yes you'll get a bad taste if its starting to singe the filler because its become too dry. until you learn by the draw and look of the filler surface at the mouth, as soon as you detect any change in taste... top off. this is nothing really and can be done in the sleep after a while compared to what has to be watched with a tank carto or clearos.
