hi guys-

im having a bad experience with these new Smok 2 ohm pre-punched cartos.

I was using Boge SR (3 ohm) pre-punched cartos with no problem.

I was told that i can get better flavor out of a lower resistance carto, so i bought these Smok ones.

Same juice i've been vaping on for weeks now, but when i vape i get a really bad metal taste in my mouth. Is this normal?

I primed the carto with like 30+ drops of juice prior to use, as i normally do, and i have burnt a carto, by not priming it once before. so i know what that tastes like. thats definitely not the problem.

Any thoughts or suggestions?

its starting to upset my stomach even.

thanks guys

Hmm . . . Well, it appears that are quite familiar in prepping a carto. Perhaps, a bad carto or batch? I use Smok 3.2Ω pre-punched and have not had a problem.

Is this happening right away or subsequent to vaping for a bit? What voltage or wattage are you running for the 2.0Ω carto.

For me, depending on the e juice, which I using, I will make the pre-punched holes a bit bigger on the Smoks, to insure adequate transfer of e juice from the tank into the carto.

Can't think of much more to offer.

I've been changing it up to see if it is the voltage that is the problem. but i am staying within the range of 3.2 -4.0v

When i first put it in, it seemed to smoke and taste excelent! (about 8pm last night) but now today i get the taste.

This is the second smok carto i put in, i first put in a 1.7 ohm, and punched the holes a little bigger since they were so small compared to the Boge ones i've been using. but the big hole killed my throat hit completely. so i traded it out for the 2.0 ohm that i am having the problems with. throat hit is there, just really bad taste...

The Smoktech 2.0 ohm XL is my main carto. I've been using them for over a year and punch them myself. The 2.0 was designed for regulated 3.7V. I don't run them much over that or for more than aboout 6.5 watts, especially with VV/VW which hits them with pulsed 6.0V. If I want a warmer vape at 3.7V I use the Smoktech 1.7 ohm. As for Smoktech cartos being better than Boge or the other way around... no. They are both good cartos. There are differences in filler materials, prepunched holes, etc. and one carto may work better than the other for folks.

Have you put that potentially bad 2.0Ω carto aside and tried another 2.0Ω?
