New to vaping and ECF!

Hello everyone!

I am a complete noob to vaping (on day 7). I have been using a cheapo "freebie" ecigs brand starter kit. paid s&h, then got an email saying i was auto-enrolled, blah blah blah, so I got one more set of cartridges to last me until I found the right brand, and cancelled membership.

I definitely want to use one that you refill with the e-liquid as opposed to ordering pre-filled cartridges, as I was a heavy smoker, and at the moment am a pretty heavy vaper (that still sounds funny to me, lol).

What ecig do you use? Do you recommend it? What are your favorite flavors, and where do you order them from?

Welcome to the forum! I have been convinced to go with something like the Joyce eGo Twist. The variable voltage (vv's) are better than what I'm using now, which is a v2 cig-a-like. My batteries don't last long between charges, and the carts don't last long either.

There are other choices as well. Volcano Lavatube, Vivi Nova Tank, Provari, (if you have a bigger budget than I do). Over all, there are multitudes of choices, but if you can, start out with a vv, and you'll be happier in the long run.

Thanks for the input guys!!! I will be researching all of these suggestions. While I was browsing the site, a banner was up for Vapor King (Vapor4Life). Does anyone have any experience with this one? I love the multitude of choices for flavors as well as batteries and cartomizers. And the price ranges are great in comparison to others I have checked out.

The first question I have to ask is "What do you feel comfortable with, and what's your budget"?

If you want to stay with a cigarette form factor then the Smokeless Image Volt is about the best you can get.
Their 78mm batteries are rated at 320mah (mah gives the storage capicity and relates to vape time), they are sealed so a few drops of juice won't kill them, and they are regulated at 3.6v to provide enough power for a good vape. Their cartomizers are bottom coil and refillable and are good quality. Customer service is excellent. If you feel comfortable with something larger, then there are tons of options.
I'll wait to hear back on budget and comfort level for more complex systems before suggesting those systems.

In that case you can't go wrong with Smokeless Image Volt. There simply isn't a better cigarette sized system out there. While I have larger devices, I still like the cigarette form factor and use my Volt every day.

I'd pay the extra $1 to upgrade to the 78mm battery, get some extra cartos and juice.
I'd go for this starter kit... http://smokelessimage.com/starter-kits/voltpro.html There are also 15% off coupon codes you can use. Just enter VOLTMAN in the coupon section when you buy.

If you go with them post a picture on their forum here and they'll send you a free battery. http://www.e-cigarette-forum.com/forum/smokeless-image/269722-get-your-freebie-faces-volt-smokeless-image.html

I think she gave you the code for the discount,,,,,,,just put that in the box for coupons :)

You will love the volt,,,,,,,,,,best part,,,,,when and IF you're ready for a longer lasting battery, you can simply upgrade to the Smokeless Image X2 and all your cartomizers and clearos will still work :) I am waiting impatiently for my X2 that is arriving today,,,,,,,but I've been using the 78mms for 3 months,,,,,,

one thing to keep in mind,,,,,,,you will probably want some back up batteries of whatever size for when those die,,,,,,you can fully charge them about 300 times,,,,,,,,,but if you vape a lot like me, they will probably die in about 3 months,,,,,,

at that point, you can decide if you want a larger battery or just some more 78mms.

another good thing to have is the car charger for about 10 bucks,,,,,if your power in the house goes out, you can always charge your batteries in the car :) I live in hurricane country and have to consider those types of things in advance.

I think they are planning a sale for the 11th of November or thereabouts,,,,,,,you could always pick up a couple extra back up batts during the sale, once you get past the initial expense of the starter kit, etc.

other extras that are nice to have,,,,,,a case, a PCC (personal charging case,,,,you charge the case and then take it with you to charge the batteries when away from a power source), a car charger, extra cartos, maybe a nano (small clearo), extra juice, and they have the cutest lanyards to hang your ecig around your neck,,,,it's so darned easy to misplace those things,,,,,,can't tell you how many times DD and I have wandered around the house looking, had one slide under the couch cushions, or roll off the bed LOL

If you type VOLTMAN in the coupon box you will get 15% off your order.

Good luck!

Check out their forum here on ECF http://www.e-cigarette-forum.com/forum/smokeless-image/, they can answer any question you have. They have a huge follwoing around here.

What seperates them from the others is that they use more advanced technology than most for their batteries. While most other 808 batteries look the same, few are sealed or regulated and most hold a smaller charge.

The easiest way to check if they are sealed or not is to look at the terminal. If there's a hole in the center then it's not sealed. That's important because any fluid or debris getting into that hole can destroy the battery.
