hi all,

I hope I'm doing this right! I apologise in advance if I'm using the wrong terms for stuff :D basically, I just started vaping a few days ago with a 30W Eleaf with a kanger tech tank which were given to me by a friend who had got a new one. He said I needed a new coil, which I went and got, but the tank seemed to be leaking pretty badly and if I turned it up past 4/5V it had a really awful burnt taste. I went back to the shop today and replaced the tank with an Aspire nautilus X which has been much better (and prettier) but my question is whether the tank should be feeling so hot? I had been using it for a good few minutes, and tried turning it up from 4V to 5V for the first time, so thought it may be normal, but as the battery bit is a little old I'm getting paranoid that's it's going to blow up in my face or something! Haha. Any advice would be much appreciated :) thank you

Well, it won't blow up, but something like the Nauti X tank really doesn't need that much power to work well. It really is not a case of more power is better. Typical tanks like the Nauti X have higher ohm coils (resistance). They don't need as much as lower, subohm coils and tanks (low resistance), in which case you might even want a bit more power than the Eleaf can deliver.

The most important factor is whether or not you like the vape. If it's good, that's the setting to use (unless it's something really off the charts, which you're not). Also, with a new coil, let it sit with juice in the tank for a bit, and take a few puffs on the tank without any power (without pressing the fire button). That helps make sure the cotton in the coil is getting wet. Then, start out at a lower power setting and increase it slowly. If the cotton is not properly saturated, it can give you a terrible tasting dry hit.
