I started my journey into vaping a short while ago by picking up a cheap 510 cigalike kit for 10 bucks on a clearance deal. Of course, the battery life on this thing is horrible. I bought a second battery, but it is just as bad. I have decided to upgrade (after only 3 days of full-time vaping) to an eGo C or twist. So my questions are these:

What would would you recommend and why?
Are the ones on ebay (cheap knock-offs, probably) even worth it?
and If not, where would you recommend I buy from.

I just need a battery and charger, I already have clearos, etc. Price is EXTEMELY important (I would rather pay 20 dollars and have it last a month, than 100 dollars and last a year.)

I just started too, and I bought a Vision Spinner 1300 mAh battery. It goes strong for 3 days before I gotta charge again and I chain vape this thing. Paid $25 for my second one.

Take my recommendation with a grain of salt since I just started a week ago, but so far it's working great for me and my friends who have had theirs going on a month now.

Well, the eGo units are that price or less. So I'd get eGo or Riva from a reputable vendor (see front page and reviews).

If you can get a twist or spinner so you have VV all the better.

If you don't have vv....go for 1.8 - 2.3 ohm coils. Carto packs are a good way to start. So are CE3's IMHO. And get some juice...don't use pre-filled stuff (the pre-filled stuff has old juice).

Save up the $$$ from not smoking and read up on other units/mods if you like, change up later. The replaceable battery ones will save $$$ since they are $5.00ish per battery. But you need an external charger for the batteries.

Good luck and welcome to ECF and vaping.

I bought a all in one kit from Crazy Vapors in Augusta GA. 1battery a clearly and a charger for 25.99. Its a knock off but it is a 1100 mah battery VV 3 settihgs. You can find much cheaper from fasttech.com. they are in China so delivery takes up to 2 weeks. You will want 2 batteries. I went one week with only one. Had to get a secound one quick.

I was in the same boat as you and welcome to the forum. Honestly this forum is going to be your best resource as well as the search function (I don't mean this in an a negative way)! There is tons of info especially on the type of equipment that is great for beginners. Here is what I ended up with which can be found pretty much at any reputable dealer: Joyetech eGo 1000mah battery and a eGo Twist 1000mah battery and Vivi Nova rebuildable atomizer tank, and a couple 1.5ohm Cisco 306 atomizers with drip shield. This is a relatively inexpensive setup and is bounds and leaps better than what you are used to, trust me. As far as going on eBay avoid eBay like the plague. Why? Because of the potential scam artists and knock-offs. Use trusted vendors and legit hardware for peace of mind and for customer service beyond any eBay retailer. But really it all depends on pocket cash and what you want to achieve from your experiences. Do you want to simply cure that nicotine craving or try more advanced pieces to get the most out of your vaping experience. I honestly like to start at the bottom and work my way up as I research and learn. Your best bet is a starter kit and again most of your reputable vendor sites will have an assortment of kits. Avid Vaper has a Joye 1000mah battery starter kit for $44.99 which comes with a 1000mah 3.7v battery, charger, 2 Cisco spec atomizers and you can specify what ohm rating you want to use and a cone. Or the Vamo which is probably my next purchase before I get into a Silver Bullet, ProVari, ZMax at http://www.vaporphoenix.com/VAMO-eCig-Variable-Voltage-Variable-Wattage_p_106.html. There are other brand and more advanced kits and mods depending on how much money you want to spend. You can also submit support tickets or call these vendors and ask for recommendations and they are typically a big help when you are ordering. That's probably the best starting point. Then if you want you can get into dripping or APV or mod setups which will enhance your smoking experience. Such things allow you to adjust voltage, wattage, use lower resistance atomizers, you can purchase better tank systems, and whatever your wallet will allow. Again welcome and search search search :).

Just to throw this out there........as you can see from my posts, cash is hard to come by at the moment, one reason I decided to switch to e-cigs. I am having trouble laying out the extra cash needed to completely switch. My batteries keep dying and i am looking to upgrade, but I don't have the money. Not to break any rules, or TOS, but if anyone has some old equipment laying around, gathering dust, I can use anything you feel like parting with.............

My wifey is getting upset about spending money, because I switched to "Save money"

As a general rule, never buy off Ebay because there are way to many knock off products which arent safe and never work right. I love the egos and I use mini vivi nova tanks. Check out totally wicked and get a passthrough battery. This allows you to vape while it is charging (in your car, at the computer, etc). Always get a back up battery as well, just in case you lose it or it breaks. Joytech has their own website and you know you are getting the real thing. Totally wicked is also a product made by joytech. Happy Vaping!!! PM me if you have any other questions or need suggestions on where to buy the best juice.

They are on sale now too. Booya

I started vaping about 6 weeks ago and I started with a standard kit from apollo. Then I wanted something I didnt have to refill and charge all the time so I upgraded to a ego 1200mah variable voltage and I love it now im getting my first mod they just do so much more and I think eventually u will want this too. I just ordered an "innokin itaste SVD" it comes with 2 I clear 30 clearomizers for $80 and the batteries are changeable and only cost about $10 a pair and are rechargeable. . But for cheap I would definitely go with the "vamo" go here > http:// http://www.fasttech.com/products/1411/10004581/1351803-vamos-stainless-steel-e-cigarette-battery-compartm less than $30 and you can even find batteries charger there for cheap. They even have a vamo kit for around $50. Trust me you WILL end up wanting a mod that has variable voltage/wattage ohms meter and different battery setup capabilities. Wish someone had showed me this

New to this as well, but a $15 NJOY rechargeble starter kit and an $8 bottle of juice should last you months. That's my current/only set up and I'm still trying to figure out what I may be missing...Switched from a PAD to exlusively vaping this set up a week ago. Good luck.

What you're probably missing is more juice...plan on 2,3 or 4 ml per day for light, med, heavy-ish vaping. There's variables too, so it's hard to tell.

But if I could get an $8.00 bottle of juice to last for months...even with my DIY and even if I dripped....I'd be REAL happy.

So get some juice, IMHO so you have some extra. Try to stay a bottle ahead. Backup devices are strongly encouraged too. So if a battery fails (and it will) or a charger fails, you have spare stuff.

:)

You might want to have a look at this:
http://www.myvaporstore.com/Vision_Spinner_Joye_Ego_C_Twist_Combo_p/vvs-c.htm

While it might appear "steep", it does give you backups - two batteries, two top ends (I'd suggest the 1300 Spinners, a T3 and a clearo so you can try both bottom and top coil devices.)

With the addition of replacement coils and juice, you'll be set for a long time.

The Vamo is no doubt a good device, but you need to add batteries and charger for it, plus the top ends, coils, juice, etc.

Tell your wife it's about the cost of a carton of cigs? And once you're set, it's only juice and coils.

Maybe I am missing it here, or you misspoke. I would rather pay 100 and last a year than 20 for a month. 20 X 12 = 240
I bought some Pro tanks from an Ebay vender once and had good luck, but I checked feedback first.
Personally I now buy only from an ECF known vender or juice from one local B&M that I have had extensive visits with.
(B&M more expensive but being a small business owner myself I like to support the locals when I can)
I have had outstanding service from MVS Electronic Cigarette | E Cigarette | myvaporstore

No, I didn't make a mistake. I do not have the cash right now to drop a lot of money on a setup at one time. I want to continue vaping, but I will need to save up money to get a high quality upgrade. I could afford 20 dollars a week, but dropping 100 dollars is not feasible right now.

I actually decided to go with ce4-1100mah-rechargeable-double-stem-e-cigarette. For only 19.63 shipped, I thought it was a good deal. I know it has the Euro plug adapter, but I have several us plug adapter from old cell phones laying around, plus usb ports everywhere I go. 1 in use, and one charging. I also picked a 6 pack of ce4+ clearos as well.

For the money that is a great choice.
1100mah will last quite a while.
