Hello,

I purchased a ego c twist starter kit with 18 % moon mountain e juice (PG). Smoked a pack to a pack and a half daily for approximately 15 years. I smoked one cigarette the day I got the kit and switched to vaping full time after that. The first two days went really good, but I have noticed today that I am short of breath and a have a general tightness in my chest. I have had this before while smoking, but has never been this bad. Just wondering if it may be the juice, nicotine, level, cigarette withdrawal or what? Any ideas?

Thank You!

As your lungs begin to clear out from not having a constant intake of smoke, you begin to notice the extent of the out-or-breath-ness more. At least that's what happened to me. I was vaping DIY 10mg nictotine 70/30 (vg/pg) blend. But pg, the same thing that gives throat hit, if in too high a concentration in your vapour (not your liquid, but the two are correlated), can irritate the respiratory system in some people. A friend of mine, who actually got me into vaping, had this issue. He vapes 100% vg liquids and is okay now.

to ecf chdever. I personally think the 18mg nic juice sounds right for a pack and half a day smoker. If you were getting to much nic I think you be sick on your stomach and very bad headaches. I have read where people experienced indigestion. Maybe something as simple as you need to drink more fluids. Sorry I am not much help but I'm sure someone will come along that can really help. That's what is so great about ecf. Everyone is here to help.

Ok so keep in mind that 18mg of nicotine is of nicotine concentrate. The nicotine effect will be 5 x the effect especially if your are lung hitting vs mouth to lung,

Additionally, no matter how "like" smoking vaping has become, it is still a new experience to your body. So maybe slow down a little take a smaller draw.

I am not doctor and cannot diagnose you but I feel like your body is adjusting from the harsh reality of smoking tobacco, to the difference in vaping.

Best of luck

VAPE ON!!!!

I'm not trying to jump to conclusions but because no one else mentioned it, this could be a small allergic reaction as well. You may be allergic to either pg or vg. Don't get me wrong here, do what the others say to do FIRST. If it doesn't go away or at least lessen within, I'd say 2 weeks, look into pure vg and pure pg. I hope I was of some kind of help!
Also, welcome to ECF!

I would agree with this and I would jump to conclusions since allergies to PG specifically are likely to cause those symptoms. For most people though, it is just the body getting used to the PG, and shouldn't last longer than a week. Nicotine level is a possibility but I'm not sure it's likely.

Our bodies tend to adapt to new substances and environments... for example, someone can be allergic to cats, even though they show no symptoms of cat allergies with their own cats but when they're around someone elses feline, they can start sneezing like crazy.

Probably a bad analogy... but I wouldn't worry too much and give it a few more days. If the tight chest feeling doesn't go away, maybe try lowering the mixture of PG in the juice, or at least find out what % of PG you're vaping.

I smoked for 20 years and was up to three packs. Pneumonia has almost killed me twice. I tried every thing else to quit.So I also bought an ego twist starter kit and some 24mg juice. The guy that sold it to me gave me some great advice. " Use only this for one week then try smoking a cigarette" I must say I went on a ride. For me too much nicotine felt like not enough. Chain vaping.10 to 15 ml of 24mg nicotine a day is too much, headaches ,insomnia.tension and nervousness The nic doesn't hit your bloodstream the same as cigs. My body adjusted and I lowered the nic to 12mg in the first month. I coughed up alot of stuff that month too. That first month was tough. Now 7 months later it is easy. I'm down to 3mg nicotine and I haven't felt that tightness in my chest for months now

Hello. I am only new to sign up and the post here. I have lurked the board since Feb this year. I started vaping then and searched for better alternatives than Liquid Lizard. Thank you all for keeping busy with all the new products. I also have to thank the Lizard as it was a start. I loved my Salems. Amazing how I have changed. Anyway, started at 1.8 and now down to .8. I would of failed with only the Lizard. Thanks, for revealing Vision Spinners, mods and all the kewl flavors.

You make a difference just being here for those that only watch as non-members.

Best,

I work at a little headshop and for the past 6 months we've been selling all kinds of things just for liquid vapes. we haven't really got into the dripping mods yet, but weve picked up in sales a lot and have started carrying more products but I have yet to come up with a good way to let customers sample our flavors. we have used just the basic ego disposable tanks for a while now but with as many flavors as we have it takes up a good bit of space and as cheap as those tanks are, they just sit there and leak and make a mess really. i cant figure out a good cheap and easy way to have a setup for each flavor. any advice would greatly help

hey chdever,i had that issue happen b4,it will take a bit to get use to inhaling vapor because you are breathing in steam or water vapor,so you should adjust to the change. i too was a pack a day smoker.i started with 18mg the first few days an then picked up another bottle of 12mg an that made that feeling go away.you may want to try that an see if it makes a difference for you.im not familiar with that brand of liquid you refer to though...i make my own liquids, but i use to go threw a local shop in the begining..hopefully that helps ya a bit..congrats on the switch to vapor!

A shop I was in had their sample juices in good tanks and had drip tip condoms on for the customers to try the juices. I think a lot of shops use these drip tip condoms as they are cheap disposable and seem to offer enough protection. Good luck.

Chain vaping 10-15 ml a day is way too much--I had smoked 3 packs or analogs for 36 years, and just switched to vape. I did get the 24 mg nic menthol, and I find that I don't have to chain-vape. So far, I've gone through 1-2 mls (this is my 2nd day of vaping). I take a toke one or twice every 20-30 minutes, and that satisfies me.

as your lungs begin to heal they tend to push all that extra muck you have been putting in them over the years out. i would try to get to as low of a nicotine level you feel comfortable with and try to use a 50/50 blend (pg/vg) until you get some more experience under your belt.

ps, enjoy life without cigarettes!
