Hello everybody. This is my first post and I'm new here. I started vaping last year around September to quit smoking, and was successful in doing so. At the time I was living in upstate New York and had 2 really good places that sold stuff. I had a Smok M80 plus and a Triton Aspire tank. I started out around 30 watts and since then moved up to 45-55 watts. I had no problems in NY. Coils were good, juice was good. Then I moved back to my home state of Ohio and things went down hill. My new job kept me on the road and the only place to get vape supplies was about 20 mins from my house. Long story short no matter what I did my hits tasted like a metallic bleachy flavor. I cleaned the tank regularly, replaced coils often, primed em, everything. No matter what I did it always tasted horrible and sometimes burnt. The last straw for me happened out on the road and after cleaning the tank the night before, loading in a new coil and priming it, it still tasted horrible and made me cough uncontrollably, so I literally threw the damn thing in the woods.

I'm looking for some advice on the best tasting setup (I usually use fruit loops or banana nut flavored juice) that won't fail me. Also does anyone know of a good site to order vaping supplies because there aren't many options around me.

Thank you.

The last 5 places online I ordered from, and I have ordered from them
many times are:
1. Mount Baker Vapor
2. My Vapor Store
3. EC Blend
4. Vapor4Life
5. FastTech

The last one is in China and don't order from them if you're in a hurry, but
the prices are excellent and it's a good place to keep your stock up with.
Good luck.

Did you try running it at lower power with a new coil and then working up?

I'm just a flavour chaser and a tootle puffer and run my Triton 2 around 13 watts.

Also is the climate the same in your new place? I might just be me but I feel that can affect flavour and how you feel about it.

For example in Spain I really enjoyed both Space Jam's Eclipse and Halcyon Haze's Northern Lights - got off the plane in Britain, loaded up a tank of each...and found them disgusting - so much so that I started DIYing unflavoured juice.

Whatever, I do hope you get a solution and an answer that helps.

Can you tell us what kind of budget you have for vape gear? In some ways that is a stupid question because if you go back to smoking you will spend gobs more on that than you would a high quality setup.

I mean I'm willing to go 100 to 200 dollars no more than that. The setup I had before was like 130 or something. I'm just looking for a good solid build and a steady supply of good stuff that won't taste horrible. Like the setup I had before was weird. I would clean the tank, put a new coil or atomizer or whatever you call them in, fill the tank, prime it, let it sit for about 10-15 mins, and it would taste fine for about a day, the next day it was almost tastless and kind of metallic tasting. So a few more days go by, and I decide change the coil but it still tastes horrible. After that happened so many times I got fed up and tossed it.

And I gather you don't want to mess with rebuildables?

Hi and welcome. The choices are endless but, judging by the gear you had, I am assuming you want direct lung and medium power. I build my coils, but I understand people like the Uwell Crown tank. Just about any mod will do, unless you want TC, so pick one that appeals to you.

You might also be a candidate for a Vaporesso Target. That's a 75 watt machine, and the included tank uses ceramic coils, which are very clean tasting and have exceptional life. I recommend you look at it.

I'm guessing that when you moved you started using different e-liquid. I have had "newly" mixed liquid that tasted soapy until it steeped.

Or perhaps you are getting a different coil (nickle ni, titanium ti, kanthal, stainless ss). That can certainly change the taste.

Seems that something changed when you switched suppliers.

Your gear may not have been totally at fault, at least where flavor is concerned. I've recently moved up to an RDTA and have been enjoying the increased flavor, but for the last week, my favorite liquids have all taken on a sour/bitter taste which, I understand, is not uncommon. The phenomenon is apparently temporary, and advice seems to run in the direction of mouthwash, rehydration, strong mints, etc. to clear the palate. After five days, the flavor of my liquids has pretty much returned to normal today.

I wish I could confirm or deny this but I cant. The boxes are the same. Black boxes with orange writing that says aspire triton replacement atomizer. There's really no technical info

I suspect the juice or coils are not genuine coils- (clones)
I'm not saying that's a definate issue in saying it's possible....
But form a Vape store? I think it's more the juice change-
It may be same flavor profile but don't mean it's the same.
I love ryze ejuice - the coils stay clean and love their juice- along with many others online!
Good luck -
