New to vaping and I think I have made a mistake...

In defense to little sister cigarette shaped e-ciggs, some companies do have merit. You left out the vendor in which you purchased.

Vapor4Life is who i went with. I just cancelled my order for an extra Vapor Titan battery and a USB charger for the EVO that they had on sale AND ordered some juice to fill the Megacart it came with. I will still have the Original Vapor Titan manual that came with my already shipped start up kit as a back up/travel piece too.

Congratulations everyone on completely breaking me down after my first post! (and by breaking me down i mean pointing me in the right direction)

My $.02...the Blu disposable was the first e cig I tried and I hated it. I knew I wanted to stop smoking and get into vaping (though I didn't know what it was called at that point) and so I did a google/youtube binge until I came upon V2 cigs. I was blown away at that point by how much better they were than the one I'd had...throat hit and taste were so much better. Then I started researching batteries and e liquid etc...and bought two eGo C twists and some clearomizers that blow the KR808 out of the water (for me). I love the V2 in the car (so people don't think I'm smoking a .... or a pipe bomb or a screwdriver while I'm driving) but at home, the geeky hobby aspect of the "pour your own" appeals to me. I can't say I'll be custom building anything soon, but I love the Twist and am hooked on the Vivi Nova clearomizer.

And I don't even know what a Megacart is (have to look it up) but filling the KR808 carts is surprisingly easy. I filled six last night for the very first time and felt pretty good about it :) So glad that you were steered in the right direction! I wish I'd registered here before I placed my first order, but just because of the expense of learning what I did so quickly after doing so.

I agree with the posters here who have told you that even though you feel overwhelmed at the moment, you'll soon get it and be fearless if you hang in there. Just the fact that you found ECF is significant, and will be an immense help. I also found it extremely beneficial to watch YouTube videos on the subject. Sometimes it's easier to understand things if you can see them rather then just read about them. You'll get a much better start from the kit you bought and will notice a huge difference from your gas station eCig, but I guarantee you will most likely want to upgrade to a larger battery with a tank or clearomizer. I'm fairly new to vaping, started in August and stopped smoking analogs from day 1, and I'm now using a Vision Spinner 1300mah with a clearomizer. The battery lasts me all day. I bought 2 so I always have a charged back up, and I have extra clearomizers in case I need them and also in case I want to change juice flavors. Hope this helps a bit.

Hi! I have Twists, novas, tanks, etc., but for stealth vaping I often use the Green Smart Living cig-a-like batteries I got at the liquor store. Not a lot of power, but it has a 510 thread and looks kind of cool with a black carto. Also, since coming to the forum and learning how the gear works, I can fill the cartos it came with with my own juice. Luckily, I'm a squirrel and hardly ever throw anything away, because I found that when the cartos it came with "died" they were just dry, not burned out.

The gas station and convenience store e-cigs are not even close to vaping. I think we've all tried them and then wondered what we were thinking after we bought them!!! My hassle free setup after 4 months now of being smoke free is a Vision Spinner 1300mAh battery with a Vision Vivi Nova tank. Easy to fill...easy to clean...holds a ton of juice...get something like this early and you will save a lot of $$$$ on purchasing lower end equipment that you will hate. Everyone will have their own preferences on what gives them the most flavor and clouds of smoke......this is my choice for now and I have a box of useless e-cigs sitting on my desk!!

Hey, from what I've heard on the grape vine around here over the last year, Vapor 4 Life is actually one of the better companies. For people who are light, half a pack or less a day, some are happy with them(cigarette shaped e-ciggs). It can difficult if you're a heavier smoker as their batteries are not bad, but simply do not have the power necessary to last. I notice even V4L even has their own variable wattage devices now too after seeing their site! They've changed a lot over time. The e-cigg industry is moving lightening fast with their technology. It's a lot of fun to be apart of this industry and watch it grow. It's really just in the beginning even now. The variable wattage V4L has is pretty expensive and it's probably due to a year long warranty attached. Anyways, whatever you do have coming from V4L I want to say you should be in good hands. I have never ordered from them, just heard great things about them.

OMG I can feel another brain freeze happening here. First take a slow breath and sit back. There is so much information on different PV's and delivery system for the juice, You just can't asorbe it all at once. WELCOME TO ECF. This is where you want to start on your new journey to being smoke free. I have to warn you that brain overload will happen at least a couple of times a day.(least it did for me). Take your time, ask questions, and do some research. I'll second the eGo style battery and a 'vivi nova' type clearomizer type delivery system. There is no one on this forum that can tell you exactelly what you need to do. Hate to say it but it's a life learning experience. What works for me won't work for someone else. I can tell you not to give up. From experience I can tell you that when you have questions and need support and answers, THIS IS THE PLACE TO BE!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! We're here for everyone's support and help. Good luck on the new journey youv'e started. I wish you the best!!!!!!:toast:

There is no doubt a learning curve. There is a woman on youtube, who I like, and I bought exactly the kit she recommended (which I paid about $70.00 for and you can now get for about $38.00 - cringe). It had two 650mAh standard eGos and the old atty/cartridge system. It was super easy to use. When I got comfortable with that, I started adding clearos; I then got a 1000mAh battery for more power and a vivi mini nova. And then, my drip tips started melting, my clearos etching and the nova tube melted. I had no idea that some e-liquids are incompatible with polycarbonate & acrylic (that's why you see me repeatedly post about that issue on new member threads). Due to the juice problem, I had to switch to carto tanks, which a very kind member walked me through how to put together. I then got Twists. At first I didn't see the benefits, mostly because I couldn't taste very many juices, but when I started to, I fell in love with the Twist. I've also gotten some other types of clearos, tanks, etc., but that was just out of curiosity.

The point of this long post, is that I don't feel any of the steps were wasted. If I had come on here first and a Twist and vivi nova had been recommended to me, I think I would have been smoking cigarettes while reading the forum trying to figure out how to use them. And if I only had a vivi nova, I would have wasted a lot of juice when I filled up a tank, only to discover I didn't like it. People offer suggestions (very good ones, btw), because they don't want you to spend the money we did while learning. But sometimes starting small can be just as effective, if not more so, than starting with "The Best." I still use everything I bought, since I find some more useful in different situations. Getting off of tobacco is the main thing to think about, and any money not spent on tobacco is a savings.

The only, and I mean ONLY, disposable I have heard of that gives good performance is the new NJoy King (which is kind of odd, considering how bad the original NJoy's were). You will definitely get better performance from a quality rechargeable. Since you did not mention the brand you ordered, I cannot speak to it directly (or even, from second-hand experience) but I hope that it was from a reputable company with a reasonable return policy if you think it just isn't cutting it.
MacSabbath's point about learning proper technique is very important. Long, fairly slow drags into the mouth, then inhaling is how most vapers get the best results. Drawing to fast or too slow can dramatically reduce the vapor, throat hit, and flavor. You just have to experiment a bit to get it right.
Even if you graduate to a larger system like an eGo pretty quickly, don't think of it as a waste of money...getting you off of the analogs is priceless! And, the mini's can be very handy for out-and-about vaping (just don't forget to always have backup batteries and cartomizers).

i knew it right away, hit & run holiday may be one of my altime fav albums!
g/l with vaping, it is really more of a hobby that grows on you. only tough the first week or so as you have to retrain your behaviours and aviod smokers you are firendly with. i quit 7/7 (when levi was born) and the first 3 months i avoided the smokers patio at work like the plauge, now its nbd. i could repete a lot of whats been said, b/c its all spot on. if you need any assistance or have questions you are absolutely in the right place.
for the record, i mostly listen/groove to edm and own a promo company coordinating dance events and managing djs

Welcome to ECF. Welcome to not smoking. Welcome to yet another learning experience.

So, I have enough history (not as much as some, but enough) to know that 808's were at one time considered one of the best super-mini e-cigs (cig-a-likes). You're getting lots of good advice above. It inevitably includes "buy an eGo or some such" fat-battery. And you probably will in time.

There are plenty of people that have quit smoking using 808 cig-a-likes. They (cig-a-likes) are all a pain in that you have to have several batteries and charge them often due to their small size. But 808's put out some "oomph". The form-factor is great, particularly for new-vapers quitting cigs. You can't use LR stuff on them (supposedly. It's kind of shooting-yourself-in-the-foot thing anyway since it drains em even faster and they don't have the amps for it). You MAY try 2.0 ohm cartomizers or atomizers. Around 2.3 is considered "standard".

So you're left with a choice. You'll probably want more batteries and some blank cartos to fill. Do you spend the $$ on more super-mini stuff, or get a VV eGo size system? Totally up to you.

I'd try these for a bit. See what the charge cycle is like. Get into the e-cig thing for a while. Get spare stuff.

One thing about types. There are eGo batteries in 808 style and 510 style connections. It's just different threading. However, the 510 stuff is, IMO, more standard now-a-days. So if you do "make another switch" consider 510 threading. Unless you want to use both devices..then get an 808 threaded eGo.

Cartos are disposable. Get a bunch. Don't break the bank until you figure it out a bit...but don't spend so little that you run out, if you can spare the $$ right now.

Get some juice and a syringe from a vendor. Shop around and see reviews. Have fun! Read, learn, be back. ;)

Remember this is a process. Few if any of us got it "right" the 1s time...even if it was a good setup we changed later. The cost savings from cutting out the smokes will help you save up for new equipment over time. Look for juice sales too (particularly "simple" flavors).

Good Luck!

If you're unfamiliar with carto tanks and want more info, Pm me and I'll walk you through it. They have become my absolute favorite thing!
