New to Vaping and Love it!!

Hi everyone!
I have been a smoker on and off since I was 17. I'm almost 48. I had quit once for 11 years but "had just one" and went right back to my 1.5 packs per day. I tried quitting again last Spring, I could tell my health was suffering and I started to hate everything stinking like stale smoke. I tried quitting using the gum, I even tried the snus, but I just went nuts with the cravings and couldn't think clearly, so I started up smoking once more. I just didn't let myself smoke indoors anymore. And I knew I wanted to try to quit again before Winter so I wasn't standing out in the cold.

A friend told me her mother quit after 30 years by using the e-cig. I had only once seen someone vaping in public - it sounded interesting - so I decided to read up on it and to give it a try. I read a lot on this forum! :) and then I ordered start up supplies from Vapor4Life.

Well, my kit came in the mail 12 days ago and I loved it from the first puff! I had maybe 4 real cigarettes that first day - not my usual 30 or so! - and on the second day I lit one cigarette mid morning and thought "GROSS!" It tasted and smelled absolutely horrible. I had 3 packs left from a carton of my regular brand and I gave them away. My last "analog" was 11 days ago and I can't BELIEVE how much BETTER I feel in just 11 days! I can breathe better, I don't wake up coughing every morning. I have TONS more ENERGY! Plus vaping is FUN! I got more V4L supplies in new flavors, and I'm so happy about this discovery! I never dreamed putting cigarettes away would be this easy.

My husband is still smoking, but he says he is willing to try vaping, so I got him some supplies of his own. I hope it works! I worry for his health and now that I don't smoke anymore, his smoking really stinks!

Thanks for having this forum - it's been a huge, life changing help! :2cool:

Greetings from Canada! Welcome to ECF!

Please to patient with your husband. We all quit at our own pace. It may or may not be as easy for him as it was for you. You were a very reluctant smoker, I was in the same boat. It still took a while for me to find the combination that was right for me. If he can vape and cut down smoking then that is a Great accomplishment. What worked for you may not be the perfect solution for him. Be Patient.

Relax, Enjoy!

It's true what others are saying about your hubby and vaping. I quit smoking last September with my first vape on an e-cig (yeah...I'm one of those. And I had been smoking over 43 years at 2 or more packs a day! Don't hate me.) Hubby was interested when he saw what happened with me and how easy it was for me to quit (no one who knew me believed I'd EVER quit smoking...including me) so I got him set up with the same kit I got. He liked it okay, and used it...but continued to smoke, too. This went on for another 6+ months, with him *mostly* smoking rather than vaping. It took a lot for me to not make remarks about the smell...especially in our bedroom and bathroom. But when I got him a 900 mAh X2 last June ...suddenly things changed. He finished his last pack of cigs within a day or so, and has been vaping since! We found him some juice he REALLY likes (flue cured from MVS) and now he's all over vaping and collecting PVs and having a grand ol' time. It just takes a bit longer for some...and finding the right equipment!

Hi! Thank you for the encouragement and support. You are right about the difference between hubby and me. I smoked but it was a love-hate thing, I wanted to be done with it so many times but just couldn't get past my addiction. My husband loves to smoke, has always smoked since he was a kid, and hasn't wanted to quit in quite the same way I did. He did try to quit with me last Spring with the nicotine gum - he lasted a couple days then, like I did, and I think he lost his desire to stop smoking because of how hard it was. He's tried vaping, a puff here and there - maybe having the right equipment and juice will be the thing. I suspect he'll come around to it and I know I have to try not to nag, preach or complain. :p

What is a "900 mAh X2" ???

I know that a 900mAh battery should last at least 9hrs of vaping. Not sure what the X2 means.
