Have you tried changing your atomizer? To most newbies to vaping, including myself, they don't seem to last near as long as they should. And don't throw away the old ones because they can be rebuilt a lot cheaper (and better) than buying new ones.

What's my atomizer? The thing with the wick? I had someone else taste my ecig with the same system I have now and she could taste it. I'm thinking it may be the dreaded vapors tounge. But I'll happily change whatever I need to see if it helps.

Give this a try.

Get some fresh coffee grounds, and take a few good, deep sniffs. (Don't get the coffee grounds in your nose though) You may want to sniff the coffee grounds for 2-3 minutes.

It's a common trick used by perfumers, wine tasters, and chocolatiers who are constantly relying on their sense of smell and taste for a living. It sort of resets the olfactory senses.

It may be the atomizer you are using is dead. The wick thingy on the bottom has coil in it that will eventually get so covered in dried e-juice it will not generate any flavor. This happened to my girlfriend the other day and once I replaced the head in her iClear 16 everything was fine. You can also dry burn the coil (hit the button when no juice is in it) for a very short period of time to try and get some of the gunk off. You will see it burn off, but this does not always work. Better to buy a new cartridge/atomizer. Pretty sure the cartridges you are talking about still have a limited life. If it is "vapers tongue", then the only thing you can do (and this will fix it) is drink a lot, a lot, a lot of water. I had this same phenomenon happen to me after about the same amount of time. I would take a drink of water every time I would take a hit, to get my tongue damp. This seemed to help my tongue absorb some flavor. The biggest thing with vaper's tongue, DO NOT cheat and have a cigarette. Your tongue will get coated in tar all over again and the pores in your tongue will get blocked. This will start the whole process over, just bare through it and drink water right before you take a drag on your evod. This only lasted for about 2 days when it happened to me by the way. Just so you have a time frame. If it is lasting longer than 3 or 4 days, I think your atomizer is just gunked up and needs to be replaced. Just saw your post, the atomizer is the thing with the wick. The coil the wick goes through will only last about 1 to 3 weeks depending on use. You will need to replace the head when vapor production and taste diminish.

yes, you need to change the atomizer;

you can put the old one to soak in hot water.

you could also dry burn the coil but I wouldnt try that unless you had a spare atomizer already that you can use.

dry burning a coil for the first time might burn out the coil;

theres lots of youtube videos about dryburning your coils

So I just goty new ego in with a brand new atomizer and still can't taste. BOO I was really hoping that would do the trick. Been drinking water out the wazoo (and ...... out the wazoo as well) and also did the coffee. I can't smell the coffee. So I think it's a bit if vapors tounge and probably my sinuses. Will jus have to wait it out.

I've read that gargling salt water helps; never had cause to try it though.

So have you been vaping on the same atomizr for 3 weeks?
And I wonder what voltage or power you have been vaping at, and the nic level.

We'll I've switched out my atomizer (didn't know that's what it was until today) once in the 3 weeks. I tried 'icy fire' juice and it was okay but I couldn't get the taste out after switching juices. So I cleaned and switched it do it would dry. So no, I guess I haven't been on the same atomizer for 3 weeks. The #s were 1.8 ohm and 2.2 ohm. Not sure about the voltage, but I'm vaping 12-18 mg nic, depending on juice. Not due what ohm this new ego is since I didn't have to put it together and no one explained it to me. I just bought off eBay as back up.

As your ego battery getts older it is not going to hold charge as well, and you will be vaping at lower and lower voltage all the time.

That is why people get regulated voltage tubes ('mods') that contain the rechargeable batteries and eletronics keeps the voltage at a constant (or average contant) level for a consistent vape.

I never leave atomizers to dry; they are either wet or dry from dryburning; if I find a source of PG I am going to keep my ready atomizers in a bottle of PG, so that way I won't even have to prime them with eliquid, just pop them in and vape.

Hello all! I'm only about 3 weeks in with vaping and starting on Sunday, I can no longer taste ANY juice. This was going so well that I wasn't craving a regular cigarette. Now my satisfaction is gone bc I can't taste it. I broke down today and had a regular ciggy . What's the deal? Is it my set up? I have a Evod batter with a cartridge with the wick on the bottom. That's about all I know about the type of cig but I see all these jacked up, crazy looking systems that are really expensive so I'm wondering if just getting basic setup is affecting my flavor. Please note my first week of vaping was excellent with great flavors! I also switch flavors regularly so I don't think I'm getting used to my vapor. Please help! Thanks,

Lolli

The same thing happened to me a week ago after vaping just one flavor. I tried switching flavors even to a stronger anise but it still have the bland taste.
I drank some coffee and my taste came right back

I know it sounds crazy, but when I get this issue, I eat spicy food for a day. It works to reset my taste buds or something, because the next day, vapors tongue is gone.

Yea, and +1 like Deb361 said.

I can usually overcome it by drinking a glass of orange juice (or something else acidic) and hold a mouthful, swish my tounge around in it. one good way to help prevent it is to always drink water when you vape it helps to rinse of the taste buds.

Hope this helps. And a big Welcome to the forum

Too hot? I am definitely vaping higher mg than I smoked. I smoked camel Turkish silver, and I think that's twelve. My stupid husband (jk love him!) stocked up on all 18mg bottles when he went. I have 1 bottle of 15 and 1 of 12. The 12 is berries and cream and it's the first one I tried that I couldn't taste, thought it was a bunk batch and haven't tried it since. The 15, I could taste the first day and vapors tounge hit so I figured it was me and not the bottles

I had the same thing happen to me when I started vaping. Some flavors had no taste and some tasted weird. Like suicide bunny's mothers milk went from tasting delicious to tasting just like play doh to me. Seriously. What worked for me was to brush my teeth and tongue every night before bed. After a few days of this the flavor returned and I've never had vapor mouth since.

Both me and my wife had the same thing happen. I also never realized that a lot had to do with the wicking system. I find that the cartomizers have some of the best taste for the interchangable type tanks. I know rebuildables are not for everyone but wow i had no idea how good vaping could taste until I bought my kayfun. It helps to have a good shop locally that can personally help you trouble shoot things.
