Hey everyone.

So Im new to the forum and to e-cigs in general. Yesterday I bought an Blu Starter kit. Today Im taking it back to the store lol, to exchange it because both batteries are malfunctioning. Awesome right. See I made the mistake of spending that 60.00 dollars on the Blu when I should have more then likely bought something else.

I cant get my money back from walgreens, they stated that I could get in store credit because they do not refund money to the purchaser for nicotine products... whats funny is if I wanted to try something different I couldn't use the in store credit to buy nicotine products... to make a long story short. Don't buy from Walgreens haha!

Anyway. Im new to this. Im stressing out because I havent smoked a analog sense I started but I'm nic-fitting like crazy and doing everything I can to not go to the store right now and buy a pack of smokes.

The story is I am having some lung problems. The doctor said if its reversible. I need to quit smoking. I have tried to quit but I really need to have an aid. I tried the patches they made me sick. Vapor seems to be the safest way for me to quit so that's what where I'm at. I needed to quit anyway. Im tired of having to plan my day around if I can have a smoke break or not. Its controlling my life and my wallet!!

I could really use some help! I dont know where to start. As soon as I can I want to switch to something more customizable and something with a bigger battery. Im a pack a day smoker and honestly all the terminology and batteries and e-juice etc etc is so confusing and hard to understand. I dont know whats up from down and down from up. I came to this forum because it looked like many of you have not only started where I did but because you seem to know a lot about all this and I could really use someone knowledgeable and honest. I'm a salesmen so I Know how retailers are and the object is to get them into a Rolls Royce when all they really need is a Honda to start. Not all people are that way but you know what I mean.

So any advice at all would be amazing! I could really use it. I want to quit smoking eventually all together but for right now I need a healthy option.

Thanks in advance!

You bought an ego starter kit at Walgreens? I'm confused cause I didn't think they sold ego's. ego's are a good starting point for many Vapers. Ego twists are also real popular and inexpensive. You can dial up the power when you want a bit of a stronger hit. If you need something stronger at say 5v, a very reasonably priced mod is a Bolt. As far as what ohms carts or clearos to get for your device, an easy way to know is this....if you have a 2 ohm cartomizer, take 2 ohms and multiply by 2, meaning it would be good vaping at 4v. A 2.5 ohm cart would Vape good at 5v, etc. that's not an exact science but sort of an easy guide to ohms vs. voltage required for newbs. Sorry to hear your ego didn't work. They usually are decent to start with. Check out the verified vendors in this forum so you know you are buying from someone reputable. Most all vendors in here would have taken the kit back with no questions asked.

Sorry the blu's were so bad for you, I also started with BLU. I'm not entirely sure what the status is with your refund, but if you can do nothing else you might just grab a new set of blu and try again. Make sure they are fully charged first, and use both at the same time. IE puff one a couple times, and then puff the other a couple times. They are a little weak, it's like having a 4 banger when you are used to a V8. And don't be afraid to swap the cartridge if it's not producing enough vapor to satisfy you. If you just got a refund and are looking for something else, I have found the ego-t kits very approachable and affordable.

Welcome Greg almost a month ago I was here in the same boat as you. All the different types of setups and juices blowed my mind. My best advice to you is read, read, read, and read some more. Some people have to start with a look a like. I had one for one day and I was sold but three days in I realized I did not need the cig look alike so I bought a Volcano Inferno Starter kit. I was lucky as friend gave me the cig look alike so I was not out any $$ on that. I have got my Inferno and never looked back. Everyday just keeps getting better. Juice is another story within its self. You gotta find out what tastes good to you, what nic level you need (I am early morning (12mg) all day (6mg) and at night 0mg. Stress times I need a drop or two of 18MG  There is PG and VG in juice and people prefer different rations for different reasons. I love flavor with minimal throat hit so I choose 100%VG plus PG dries my mouth out soooo bad. Once you get the lingo down it wont take long to dial yourself in to what your preferences are. Good luck, and it only gets better from here since you found the ECF.....

I can only speak for my experience thus far. Read and read some more is great advise. For me I like the eGo type pass through. They plug right into a usb port for easy charging and vaping as you charge. Less hassle with equipment to buy and good price points on almost any site you buy from. This forum has some great vendors listed on it, that sell everything you need. I have found for a newbie clearomizer's work well too. Easy to fill and easy to maintain. Might I suggest the Kanger T2. Other people have different opinions and they are all right for them. The vaping experience is about you and your experience. I have found the trick is to not let it break the bank trying to find what you need. Read, read read. Topkicker and all the others who have posted have given you a good running start. Good luck and have a nice vape.

Congrats on returning the BluCigs!! It was good during the peak of its time, but now that there're much better models out there, don't waste your time.

My Start Kit Recommendation:
o Battery - 510 Ego Twist
o Tank - 3.5mL DCT tank (SmokTech or Boge)
o Cartomizer - SmokTech 510 cartomizer, single coil, two hole laser pre-punched, 3.0 ohm resistance
o Outlet & USB chargers

*Not necessity*
o 3.5ml eGo DCT cone *looks good and hides the threading on the cartomizer. Helps stabilize the tank a bit*
o PCC (personal carrying case)

I recommend SureVapes.com. They carry all this stuff and it's free shipping. Cheers! :)

you need to quit?, this is the place. your life depends on it? sounds like a no brainer. don't even think about picking up a cig. time for the big boy pants. don't negotiate with your coffin. get your starter kit and just do it. no magic bullet here. you will suffer tobacco withdrawal, as much as everyone on here paints a rosy picture. it's a miserable month. it sucks, and the more it sucks, the more likely it will stick this time. i certainly don't want to repeat the last 4 weeks ever again. once you get past the first 4 weeks you will be drinking broken glass milkshakes for breakfast. it's worth it. get your brain on the same page with everything else in your life. now is the time to be selfish and self centered. let vaping become the new obsession in your life. be strong you can do it.

broken glass milkshakes? LOL! I dunno. I guess I was lucky. I smoked for 30 years and I actually enjoyed vaping from the start. I guess everyone is different. ha!

Welcome to the forum. See if you can find a vape shop near you to get started and try some different flavors. If you have to order online you may have to smoke a few more days until your stuff arrives. Just try and keep smoking to a minimum. Get some Joye eGo Twists or Kanger spinners, Vision Vivi Nova Minis or Kanger T3 clearos, a charger and maybe a small case to keep it all in. As for juice just buy a few small bottles to see if you like the flavors and not waste a lot of money if you don't like them. And above all else, keep comimg here. Everyone here will be there to support and encourage you to stay away from smoking.

Hi seems from your post that you'd like advise.

By the way Rooroo bears gave you good advise, I think mine is better because I don't like cartomizers. I think they taste dirty. You are vaping polyester with a cartomizer and I wonder about the risk to health. Also the cartomizers he's recommended are more complex. The Kanger t3 is brain dead to use and change the coil. I know that I've purchased the Kanger t3 twice from Vaping me and they've been great. I know that myfreedomsmokes carries authentic Joyetech, Surevapes may also have authentic Joyetech but since I haven't purchased 1 from them I can't recommend them. The one I bought at Myfreedomsmokes was definitely authentic. I know the difference.

Return the crap ecig you bought to walgreens and take the store credit, eventually you'll find something to use the money on. Consider yourself lucky that you made a bad decision and you can get out of it with out losing money [Just CashFlow]. I started in vaping 4 years ago and I wasted $100s of dollars on lousy equipment that was not returnable.

Than do the following.

I gave this advise to Kelli in a different thread Here and she was very happy. You are going to see a ton of conflicting views after me. Just Take a leap of faith and order the items below. The only choice is whether to step up to the Itaste MVP or to stay with the ego twist. I strongly recommend, if you don't mind the box shape to purchase the Itaste Mvp. Actually it's long and slim and I've been told that it's more elegant than the fat longer big tube mods. On the other hand it's less cigarettelike than the ego twist. But it's your choice.

The following is a get out of jail card free. This is not the final rig that you'll end up with unless you choose the Itaste MVP, but it's one that will satisfy you for a while.
I'm very specific with the links and products.Their are a lot of knockoffs and inferior equipment and juices in the market. Just order from these links and you should be very happy. I have no commercial affiliation with any of these vendors.

Get 2 VV Ego Twist or 1 if funds are tight $26.00 per Unit Click Here
Charger Click Here
Kanger T3 Bottom Coil Clearomizer buy 4 Each will last about 2 weeks Click Here Use Coupon Code REDDIT on Vapingme to get a 12% discount.
They are back in stock buy the replacement Head for the Kanger Buy around 5 - Click Here
E-Liquid- Heathers Heavenly Vapes- Click Here for Sample Pack

This is a great starting rig.

Now you might want to jump to the next step up for Hardware.
Instead of the Ego Twists buy an Itaste Mvp
I discovered this unit recently and have bought one and recommended to a bunch of people who liked it alot.
The lowest price to buy on web is Here use coupon code fightback1 at checkout and it's $55.00
amazingly simple to use the battery is integrated into the unit and not changeable so, no battery decisions, lasts 2 1/2 days on the built in battery and charges with a regular cel phone micro usb charger or the charging cable that comes with it. So no charger decisions

It has 3 buttons a Power button for vaping and an up and down button to change the voltage, no confusing menus.

Hey everyone.

So any advice at all would be amazing! I could really use it. I want to quit smoking eventually all together but for right now I need a healthy option.

Thanks in advance!

Firstly I want to thank everyone for all the amazing advice. I have noted everything that has been mentioned! And Im reading up on it. I to worry about what else Im inhaling with the vapor. I guess a leap of faith is needed every once in awhile. But I do appreciate everyone's advice and well wishes.

Yes this Blu is horrible but at the moment unless Blu takes it back and gives me my money back I will be stuck with it for awhile ( I just bought a new house ). At least a month. I need a heavy throat hit and let me tell you the blue just does not cut it. I do like vaping but with the blu I feel like its attached to my lips because I just dont get what I need from it for it to be effective.

My end goal of course is to quit smoking all together I may vape with 0 Nicotine though for social situations which is when I smoke the most I think. Unfotunatly there is no brick and mortar store here in Oregon... I think they were banned... but I cant remember for sure. Anyway. Keep the advice coming I find it all very helpful and its nice to talk with people who have been doing this for awhile. Thanks again!

In a van ............down by the river
2 batteries
2 clearos
Juice

That's a great start.

I highly recommend authentic Joyetech for batteries, the Twist is a good start.
The Kanger T3 is a great clearo, and I've tried them all.
Juice is very subjective, so I won't make a recommendation there.
You're best bet is a sampler pack.

With 2 batteries, you always have a fully charged one.
With 2 clearos, you can have 2 different flavors, because you'll most likely get tired of one or the other.

After that, then you can try carto tanks and other stuff, if need be.

Whatever you do, just don't smoke.

I'm glad you didn't let the Blu discourage you from vaping. Unfortunately alot of people try a Blu and think vaping is a joke. Also, some think its more expensive than smoking when it isn't. Once you get your kit it is way cheaper. Later you can make your own juice and even make your own coils for super cheap also. It's just a shame some people get misled about vaping from lousy expensive products.

I started out with Blu, and switched brands in record time...complete waste of money. It's a learning experience. Here I am, 6 months later, and I'm just NOW discovering what I like the most, and what I will be sticking with, permanently. I wasted a lot of money on the way, I wish I had discovered this place earlier :(
