The title pretty much says it all. But I will expand a little. I have been analog free for about 12 weeks and started with V2 cigs. I have no problems with the equipment but I am trying to get my nicotine habit down to the lowest cost per week as possible.

I have tried 2 of the companies tobacco flavors and several other juices from eliquid planet. I have come to the conclusion that I can pretty much vape just about anything and be ok with it. I guess I am leaning towards a sweet, tobacco flavor.

I have used what I believe to be 555 and Desert Joe, and RY4 if that helps.

I have read quite a bit on the forum and would like a few suggestions on DIY. Here is my plan please let me know if I am wrong with the thought process.

I am going to order my nic base in PG 36mg strength from Freedom smokes. I will order additional PG and VG because I would like to play a little with ratio 80/20, 70/30. I figure I can get 18 MG and 12MG with that base.

The part that I am stuck with is this. I am looking for input on flavors. I read the thread about totally wicked patriot range and was going to by a 5x5 pack in the following flavors. Americano Red, Ruyan, Kamel and State Express.

I figure I should be able find something vapable out of that selection.

Does this sound right?

Please give me advise before I make a critical error.

Thanks.

Paul.

If you like tobacco and they are concentrates or extracts, it sounds like a decent plan. It takes awhile to find your all day vape flavor that you say yummm to yourself everytime you vape it. Since you say you can vape just about anything, it sounds to me like you still haven't found your yummm flavor yet. But since tobaccos are harder to DIY, it sounds like a good plan to get those extracts to try. Honestly, DIY makes it alot easier for you to make the exact flavor you are looking for by just experimenting with different flavors, so you can't go wrong on buying the flavors you mentioned because everyone likes different stuff. I like to order the 48 mg nic pg base from My Freedom Smokes, and I do like 60/40. I like getting flavors from The Perfumer's Apprentice. Another good site for buying DIY stuff when you are just getting started is OneStopDiyShop, mainly because they have every supply there needed and you can save on postage for your first time order. After the initial startup stuff is ordered, you can shop at other sites later for better deals on nic, etc. I know I ordered my son his first DIY supplies from there and they had a special of like 5 flavor extracts for $6 and once I got the nic and PG and VG for him, it was something like $35 to just get him started. Not bad and a heck of alot cheaper than buying premixed juices. Good Luck!

Welcome to ECF, and best of luck with mixing your own juices! I've been doing that awhile myself & it's a lot of fun. I also started with 36mg nic in both PG & VG, along with some pure USP grade PG & VG and about 25 different flavor concentrates (most of which I didn't need... they just sounded interesting at the time). Anyway I think you're on the right track there, but by all means I'd recommend checking out the DIY section & learning all you can. The more you learn here, free, the less you'll have to spend learning from mistakes in the marketplace.

Have a ball, & Happy Vaping! :vapor:

Thank you for your input. I thought about buying 48 mg nic base. I think I just feel more comfortable with 36 from a safety stand point.

Thats the reason I'm trying to nail down a decent tobacco base. I don't want to buy a bunch of flavors, spend all that money and not have a decent end product. Which vendors do you find the best for flavors?

Thanks

I'm partial toward the FlavorArt tobaccos. My favorites are Desert Ship, 7 Leaves, and Latakia. My base mix, which can be vaped as is, or used with additional flavors is 2% tobacco and 2% Cotton Candy.

Rule62,

Thanks so much for that advice. That's what I am looking for. I'm pretty sure this is going to turn in to a hobby but to start I am looking learn from others.

If you're trying to save money, go with 100mg nicotine. Biggest bottle you can get your hands on, as well. Just know your math, don't let it soak your skin too much, and it's a non issue. I found if I buy vg base for my nic, that's one less math problem/measuring step as I vape 25-30 mg anyway. Here's a good link to proportions on here, bud: http://www.e-cigarette-forum.com/forum/diy-e-liquid/166103-amount-pg-100mg-nic-juice.html
