New to Vaping and ?

Hi All,

I am still quite new to the vaping scene, but still close to 3 months without having a single cancer stick :) its the best thing ever :thumb:

Anyways, I have like a lot of new vapours (well the sensible ones lol ) been doing a lot of reading up, and trying to learn as much as possible about vaping, and learning about all the many, many acronyms lol :p and gear.

I started on the single cartomizer (the things that look like a normal analogue cig) but that gave me a very so so hit and does not last long, so I moved up in the world to an Aspire BDC Clearomiser with a eGo style m1100mAh battery, much-much better hit and battery lasts a lot longer.

My next move will be to a custom battery Mod (staying with the Aspire BDC cos I luv em ) and yes I have tested others lol.

Ok so I am just after a few idias for a batt mod, I have been looking at the sigelei zmax v5 and the Smoktech v2 I am leaning towards the v5 so any suggestions would be appreciated? :)

Just one thing to add to any new vapours like me that may read this post, DONT GIVE UP ON IT, it may look daunting with so much stuff, and so many new things and its not as easy as just popping to the local store (when you try to go pro, notice I said store of our US friends) and buying a pac of cigs, we are lucky to have a local eCig store close to us so I do sorta have that opportunity, but anyways the only advice I will give a newbie like me, is stick with it and try many different things, I am 100% sure if you do you will find what works best for you.

Yes there is some start-up costs, and you may try something and don't like it and think hum that was a waste for money, but look at it this way, think of all the money you have saved not smoking those nasty cigs, and once you find what you like the money you will save with vaping will pay for your kit 3x over if not more.

And I must add probably the most important thing "Think of your health:D" even after only three months I feel a lot better, and smell better lol

Another good device is the iTaste VTR. I own it and it can fire coils down to about 0.8 ohms and is absolutely amazing. I had a vamo v5 for a week before (and I think) the chip inside of it somehow fried. The VTR is very solid and only takes an 18650 battery. It's a box mod and kinda heavy (I think its 13 ounces with a battery and tank on it).

Welcome to ECF :)
since I work at a vape shop, I get the opportunity to try all sorts of hardware... ( need to know what Im selling ;) ) and I found that the SVD is one of the better mid ranged (price wise) units on the market. it stainless steel top cap makes for longer lasting 510 threads, menu options are easier than the one button design found on other mods, the screen is easy to read, and its pretty tuff, its taken a few drops and still works fine....

Sorry my apologise I missed a bit out, the complete name is the smoktech zmax v2 battery mod, think there is a v3 now also, maybe that makes more sense, sill learning lol

I have a Smoktech Zmax Mini, which I'm fairly sure has the same guts as the full size just takes 18350 batteries instead of 18650s. I like it, however there are a few issues.

The menus and navigating them is an exercise in futility. The device only has one button so a series of presses on that one button navigate 8 different menu options, with two or three options inside each of the original 8 menu options. It is hands down the worst set up I've ever seen for such a thing. It's near impossible to use without looking at it, so forget about using it while driving. It makes me crazy.

The device does provide a very nice vape, and goes up to 15 watts, although with Aspire BDC gear you probably won't want to go that high. I use the Aspire Nova S BDC and Mini Nova BDC all the time, both work very well on the device.

It is not EGO threaded, so you can only use 510 toppers.

I paid $40 US for mine, that was no batteries, no clearos, just the device. In all honesty for the money I'd get a Innokin Itaste MVP2. It's a significantly better device in my eyes for the same price. If you don't like the idea of a box mod an SVD might be a better choice as stated above, but I don't have any experience with them. I have lots of experience with the MVP though, and I can tell you it's the best bang for your buck if you don't mind the box form factor.

I bought the Zmax Mini because, well, it's mini, and I like to save my 18650s for my flashlights. (And I like shiny things)

hi i have ego w what you guys think about it ?

Hi Samy. An eGo is an eGo. All the extra letters/words are some sort of description of the atomizer system.

Go4smoke sell an eGo - W kit for example. It's OK. There are other kits with all sorts of atomizers attached to it.

Mostly, it's smoke and mirrors to make buyers think it's something special or different.

Ya that was why i was looking at the the sigelei zmax telescope v5 (Flat Top) it has a similar look and size to the Smoktech Zmax, but from what i read a better display, as its more of a digital one and not the limited display that the Smoktech Zmax has, (still lots of menus mind) but looks easier to read, also as its a telescope i can make it smaller by using a 18350 battery :) so thats the way i am leaning at the mo unless anyone can recommend something better :)
