Hello,

I'm new around here, I already tried to quit smoking with vaping. I had a two BDC Clearomizers from Aspire which I didn't like the feeling of.. so that didn't work.

I am now returning to vaping with the new K1 Glassomizer and BVC Coils. I am hoping that I will enjoy it better.

I have been watching many videos and tutorials on how to make a good use of my vape but I still have a few questions for you experts or for those who have the same vape:

1. How do you ''prime'' your coils (if you do)? - I don't want any burnt or bad taste this time around..

2. I plan on using 12 mg liquid - Should I take many drags (like a cig) in each vape session to stope the craving?

3. What is the best way to vape with these tanks (as in breathing technique) to get enough nicotine? My old BDC used to kill my throat because of how harsh and dry it was.. Maybe I was doing something wrong too..

Thanks alot

Welcome! :)

The K1 is a nice little tank. It should be more reliable than the old BDC tanks. You will prime them with a few drops straight in the top when you install them, and maybe drop a drip or two onto the juice holes.

I started on 18mg and needed to puff more times than a cigarette. In the end I just did my normal puffs (12, 15?) and vaped more often. I smoked 15 and vaped more like 20 or 25 sessions.

Your question is too subjective to answer the way you have phrased it. You should hit your vape until the cravings are gone. The object is to train yourself to reach for your rig instead of a cig when you get the urge to smoke. Priming the coils can be done by putting a drop or two of juice down the chimney of the coil and a drop on the wick ends where is shows on the side. Once you have the coil installed and the tank filled, take a couple of drags on the mouthpiece without pushing the button. Covering the air intake of the tank at this time is also useful. If you were a 1/2 PAD smoker, 12mg juice might be a little stiff for you. Don't get in a hurry to lower it, though, so long as it is keeping you off smoking. Simply hitting the vape less will do the same. The throat pain-- we call that throat hit-- is caused by 1) nicotine and 2) PG in the juice. Lessening it would mean cutting either or both. Going to a lower nic juice, or one that has a lower PG to VG ration will ease it. There's going to be a trial and error period over that; you just have to work your way through it.

Thanks for the answer!

Ok, I tend to puff 11-13 cigs a day..

So if I follow your logic I should vape 11-13 times and take 12-15 puffs each time?

No two people are the same. I vaped more often than I smoked... I kind of chose this method, I guess. You might want to take more puffs per vape if you want to feel 'done'.

As I said, no hard and fast rules really.

@suprtrkr , "reach for your rig instead of a cig"
I see a bumper sticker in the works :)

I have recently quit smoking too. I have found that an RDA is the best when it comes to needing that through hit. I have tried tanks and the only one that I enjoyed was the kanger tech sub ohm mini.

Welcome!

When I started vaping, I tended to equate vaping like using a patch. Keep the nic level constant so the craving for a cig doesn't really hit.

At first, we tend to vape more often than we smoked. As we learn how to vape, the delivery of nic becomes more efficient and the amount of time spent vaping seems to level out. Or not ;)

Most will lower their nic content as they get systems that deliver more vapor.

Here is a good thread that helps explain: Inhalation technique with an e-cigarette | E-Cigarette Forum

Feel free to browse in that section of ECF. There is a lot of information in the 'Library' :)

1: prime.
when you put in a fresh coil, you can just let it sit in the tank for 5 or 10 minutes to make sure liquid has time to soak into the wick.

2:
mg and watts go together.
for a starting point try mg = 100/watts.
so if your setup works best at 10 watts, then 10 or 12 mg should be about the right ballpark.

3: use mouth to lung when starting out.
if harsh turn down the power.
