Hey and welcome,
I never thought I'd quit, got my pv thinking I would just use it at work and I actually started using it right out the box lol! So far so good, oh and btw I was a bit freaked out 2 because I'm not a gadget person but it is actually pretty easy once you get the hang of it! One hour at a time, one day at a time, don't beat yourself up about having an analog, look at how many you haven't smoked by using your pv instead :)
Good Luck, lots of support here!

Welcome Mama Bear. So glad you are giving vaping a chance. Before long you will notice your sense of smell and your taste buds come to life. There are only good things to come for you and your daughter. How fun to have someone to take the journey with! I now have both my mom and my daughter vaping along with 2 good friends. It is fun to share ideas and flavors.

I smoked for 35+ years. I have been vaping since March 2009 and totally smoke free in April 2009. When I first started vaping, I was solo. This forum kept me going and I have learned so much here and have recieved tons of support. There are many wonderful people here and you are now one of them!

That's terrific:laugh: I hope I can have a similiar success story soon. I have several medical problems related to smoking, so I am going to stay on this band wagon. I let one of my brothers try my e-cig and he said that he thought he could quit smoking analogs with the help of the e-cig. Two more brothers left to convince.

Thanks for the welcome! How can I get the picture at the bottom of my post that tells how long I've been vaping and how much money I've saved?

Welcome! the eGo is great piece of kit and should do you well. Don't worry if it takes you a while to 'get into it' - just take things at your OWN pace and don't worry about how fast or slow you give up smokes (if you even want to give up and not just cut down); whatever works for YOU is the way to go :)

Thanks for the encouragement:p I'm such a heavy smoker, that even cutting down analogs would be great.

Definition from urbandictionary.com

"A corruption of the word "Owned." This originated in an online game called Warcraft, where a map designer misspelled "owned." When the computer beat a player, it was supposed to say, so-and-so "has been owned." Instead, it said, so-and-so "has been pwned." It basically means "to own" or to be dominated by an opponent or situation, especially by some god-like or computer-like force."

I pwn my PV's to teh max!

You are so cute:D

Hi Mamabear and welcome!

When I decided to get an e-cig I had already made up my mind in advance that it WOULD work and one way or the other I would MAKE it work and that I WOULD quit the regular cigarettes. I guess it was a little bit of advance "mind set."

It worked. Went from three packs a day to zero in a week. And it was pain free. Just make up your mind that your going to do it and that you'll deal with the little frustrations involved as they come along.

Your daughter is proud of you and we're proud of you too. Keep us posted.

Ron

Thanks Texas. I believe e-cigs are going to work for me:)

o.k. I'm getting really excited about this ...I have 3 brothers & 3 kids that smoke analogs and I'm going to try to get them to try e-cigs

I am doing the same thing. I have been giving e-cigs to my friends. I really hope that they will give it a whirl. You can get disposables at MadVapes. I have been doing that plus I bought SafeCigs in the beginning so I have a bunch of them.
Congratulations. You will do well. I am so happy for you and your daughter!

Good on ya! yesterday was my first day with my pv, love it. I have been smoking for 18 years at a 1.5 - 2 packs a day and have tried quitting on numerous occasions. after not having a cigarette for 12 hours I tried one of the two remaining in the pack on my desk, I got half way through it and put it out. I'm friken sold. Hope you find the same luck.

Thanks for the welcome! How can I get the picture at the bottom of my post that tells how long I've been vaping and how much money I've saved?

Hey mom, to get the picture thinggy (its called a 'ticker') just click on the picture in my 'signature' (that is the area below your post). It will take you to a site that will let you customize your own and then it will give you a code. Copy that code and then go to your User CP - you'll see that to the toppish leftish and then on the right you can 'edit your signature'....post the code there and you're good to go! If you need help with it I can assist you this weekend. <3
