I got the rsst today. Currently rocking a 0.6 ohm coil. Well according to the anyvape. Itll show the res but wont fire. When i check it with the multimeter its a 1 ohm coil. Not sure which is right but they are both consistent with themselves

I wont lie my first coil worked for about 1 min before i realized a problem. After several attempts at saving it i ditched it and started over. I dont know what happened to the second one but the wick couldnt handle the pulse heat and began glowing red. After a min or so, i ditched it cause it didnt feel right seeing that. Finally the third attempt and its lasted about 5 mins, so, so far so good.

When you had the rba did you use ss mesh wick? If so what method did you use to build it? As mentioned, i used the pulse method with ss mesh. Any method you would recommend?

So many unknowns... gotta do some info digging.

My 1st one I used a pre-oxidized wick I jus wrapped it and it worked well, everything after that I oxidized myself. A few were good and the rest were non stop hot spots and adjusting. I got it down right b4 I sold the AGA ...the same time I decided I DO NOT like SS mesh which was 400 btw. Next project is U-wick with silica or cotton. Mesh can kiss my a#% Flavor wasnt "all that" anyway

Im dealing with a burnt taste. Im thinking it might have something to do with my wick not wicking good enough, but i honestly have no idea.

I bought 500 mesh and looks like i should have ordered more. When i place that order im going to get some 400 too.

One things for sure, i feel it when i take a hit now. This thing punches hard. Although i guess thats to be expected going from a non regulated battery with a 3 ohm coil to the same battery and a sub 1 ohm coil. Crazy thing is this is the battery i used all day and it was getting pretty weak by the time i made it home. Normally, it would have gotten swapped for a fresh battery but honestly my lungs couldnt handle a full battery with this coil.

A little annoying and theres so much i dont know about building coils but im happy so far.

My personal opinion is still the same it's not really worth the effort the payoff is jus as good as a pre built. As far as sub ohm yes it's does hit hard but definitely not sumthin I'm interested in. i enjoy my coils jus fine 1.5 and up. That being said I still enjoy building, the satisfaction of vaping a coil u jus built is the best part of RBAs.

Try oxidized ur wick more for that metallic or burnt taste ur getting an prime it well. Make sure the wick isn't too tight in the wick hole. And I'm sure u kno ur gonna have to tilt often mesh isn't exactly a good "wicker" to begin with.... Mesh is just off my list for good.

Also come Saturday or Monday I'll officially be part of the ProVari cult... Caught a mini silver w/blue led 2.5 for a good a#& price thanks to KraKsX

I picked me up a torch today and oxidized the wick, instead of doing the pulse method. I didnt have much mesh left but it seems to work better than the others. I do tilt every time i take a hit, but even without doing it, i can see it vapes longer before drying out. It lasts longer than my draw... so cant complain.

This coil is a .8. After i order some more mesh im going to shoot for a higher ohm, somewhere between 1 and 1.5. Mainly because the hit has a little more punch than i like.

Would you, by chance, have a link to info regarding guidelines. Something that explains things like use this gauge, with this many wraps, to get this ohm coil... And other related information. Ive searched a few times but the results are all over the place.

Regardless thanks for the tips and suggestions.

I was all over the place too I don't have a guide or anything to link u to. I jus read non stop on the forums then pbusardo put out his aga-t video and I wen from there. I'm sure u kno higher Guage wire higher ohms, with that said I would avoid 34g it's super thin and ultra annoying breaks easy, for
1.5 or so ohm try 32 or 30g and maybe 5-6 wraps should put u in that area.

Wut ur Goin thru now is why I got rid of the aga. only now since I'm rebuilding Evod/nova heads with ease do i regret selling it cus at the time I wasn't aware of the u-wick option which I kno I can do. Mesh is why I pushed it out the door. Oxidizing/hotspots nonsense is definitely not worth the payoff in my opinion. But b4 give up try sum 400 or even a bit lower I do believe the count has some to do with wicking ability. Wen i was researching 400 was the popular choice an it wicked well I can say wen i had workin coils I never got burnt taste or dry hits.. Metallic taste but that was an oxidation issue.

Also remember I didn't have a mech then, I had to build for my evic at the time which made that experience even more a pain I needed higher ohms regardless. Sorry I can't be more helpful man that dam mesh just turned me off

Forgot to say congrats on the provari.

I scanned the classies for them this morning. Im just window shopping though. I never thought id be okay spending that kind of money on a device but after looking at high end mechanicals, the provari is kind of cheap. Especially if you find a good deal in the classies.

A black mini with blue led... maybe one day.

Again congrats.

I agree, its a nice device indeed but its NOT worth what it retails for in my opinion I dont care what any fanboy says. but i like it and the mini its super tiny I under estimated the size, But its solid so it feels real nice in your hand.

That color looks good (provari). I was thinking a light silver. Very nice.

As for the x8 tank, this is the first time im seeing it and gotta say it looks pretty good. Ive been thinking of getting me a nice ss carto tank, preferably one with a fill hole. Pushing the carto, although im getting pretty good at it, is a pain and no matter how careful you are its messy. Too bad gotvapes is out of those. The agr tank looks interesting (and in stock). Might look into that one since it has metal caps, a fill hole, comes with two tubes and is less than 20.

The coil i mentioned before is working great for me. The oxidation and amount of wick material is what i associate it too. Heres a couple shots of it.

This is a shot of both devices in 18650 mode. My only complaint is its wider than my k100. Hopefully when the sigelei 20 comes in, itll fit it better. The finish should match better at very least. FYI, juice in tank is Fuzion Vapors Endless Summer (strawberry lemonade)... Yum!

This shot, well it is what it is

I can only guess its a sub 1 ohm coil. The anyvape reads it consistently at .5 but the multimeter reads it consistently at .9. I need to compare other attys with the anyvape and mm and see what they read vs each other.

I did mod the rsst slightly. I enlarged the air hole to 1/16". You probably would be happy with the factory hole since you didnt like the airy draw of the protank, but Im pleased with the modification and performance.

On a side note, i did some ecig 'spring' cleaning last night. I went through everything i had and cleaned, cleaned, cleaned. I realized just how much stuff ive accumulated since i got into this. My cleaning list consisted of 3 evod tanks, 1 iclear30, 1 iclear16, 1 vivi nova, 3 808 clearomizer (yeah those were old and nasty), 1 t2 and then a ton of used attys for all the above. I threw in some punched cartos and empty bottles to boot. I finished this all off by combining everything in to this plastic storage bin ive had for years. It was filled with unused junk and thought it could serve a better purpose.

Feels good to be all clean and organized. I have to figure out a way to add dividers in the drawers and itll do me just fine. I do wish it would hold my 30 ml bottles (upright). Otherwise ive got room to grow.

Heres a shot.

Yea I figured it was an oxidation issue. any (hot spot) problems I had was due to that.

Spring cleaning, I converted my brother and his wife so a lot of my stuff went to them, literally went to his house with bags, gave a 12hour class and left, they havent smoked since lol

Also I meant did you try the raven Carto from gotvapes? not the X8 which i got from Fasttech btw for 7 bucks...slow shipping but great prices and customer service im actually waiting for a few things from them ..and i may pick up a SVD $40 or Vamo V3..$30 cant beat that even if it is ugly as ..... lol
