Hello, and welcome! Give us some more info about yourself and your smoking habits and preferences.

Well Ive been smoking for about 9 years now. I need something reliable and that I don't have to clean often. Right now I smoke Newport 100's. Im just tired of spending $30+ a week on it and I'm tired of waking up feeling like I have a cold.

Sorry i'm new to this and am having a hard time figuring out this forum thing.

A quality set of eGo batteries and good cartomizers are what finally kicked the smoking habit for me. I recommend vision tanks because they don't flood or leak but are maintainable. Once you get used to the e-cig drag which is generally "loose" you could switch to a protank or another bottom coil unit. They give a BIG vape but they can flood or leak if you pull on them too hard.

Welcome to the forum! I recommend getting an ego starter kit. Myvaporstore.com has a really nice ego twist kit that comes with 2 batts, 2 clearos for your juice, & a charger. I smoked Newport's so I recommend getting your juice at either 24mg or 18mg if you smoked a carton a week. What juice you like will be the hardest part. It's best to order small bottles from several vendors if you can. I started off with a juice called Newpark menthol from myvapesales.com. It was the closest thing I could find so keep in mind that no ecig will taste exactly like a cig. Luckily it seems that most of us menthol smokers don't vape menthol for too long.

Also...make sure you go to the new members section and read some of the stickys there. There is a lot of terminology you will need to become familiar with & just a lot of great info as well that will make getting started much easier!

Hi GarbieBarbie, congrats on you decision to quit smoking and welcome to the forum, I also suggest an ego C twist kit, you should have at least 2 batteries and 2 or more clearomizers (juice delivery system), a good starting point might be the Evod or Viva Nova. I personally don't like the kits that look like a cigarette, I tried one and it sure didn't work for me, although some people are happy with them. If you have a vape store in your area it might be a good idea to visit one and have a look at what's available. Also here is a link to a video by PBusardo...a beginners guide to E-cigs, that you might find helpful.

I want something that I will be able to customize or personalize how I want it.

Ok. You are getting different things recommended - some are cig size and some are more cigar size.
This picture will give you an idea of the kind of sizes:
SI comparison.jpg

The two smaller ones on the left will give you 2 - 2.5 hours actual vaping time before you need to recharge. The larger three on the right will gove from around 6-13 hours of actual vaping time before you need to recharge.

This site has some good ones and also sells different wraps and extras so you can customize:

The picture I posted is from their site. They have cig size in starter kits, larger ones and variable voltage ones (to be able to change the temperature and make it warmer). I'm not affiliated with them but I have some of their ecigs and they are good.

When people recommend Egos they are recommending ones the size of the three big batteries on the right in the picture.

I'm looking more towards the ones that will give me more vape time before recharging. I work 10 hour shifts, and won't have time to charge the smaller ones. Also don't want to have to worry about refilling it on the 2 10 minute breaks i have.

The above post is correct. It's one of the best kits you'll find for the money. Also check out the forum suppliers tab at the top of the page. Aside from a couple that Bursado mentions & vouches for in his reviews I only order for the ones listed here. That way I know they're ok to do business with! There are wayyyy too many scams out there trying to take advantage of us vapers!

You can pick up an iTaste MVP on fasttech.com for 45$ & a handful of ego batteries as backups for about 25$. Usually a two week shipping time as the company is in China. But you can't beat the prices. I wish I would have gone this route just starting. Battery life on the MVP is around 30 hrs moderate vape.

I'm in Canada and really haven't ordered from any American sites, however in my travels on the forum, I have seen this kit recommended over and over again. I am posting the link:

http://www.myvaporstore.com/Vision_Spinner_Joye_Ego_C_Twist_Combo_p/vvs-c.htm

That's not a bad kit. What I recommend is getting the Vision Spinners - which are a bot better than the twists. You will see they have a number of mah, e.g. 650mah. 100mah = approx. 1 hour of vaping time.
So a 650 mah is about 6 hours of vaping time.
A 900 mah about 9 hours and so on.

For attachments I suggest trying a Kanger MT3 and an Evod, since you can get two different ones. They are both good, and you can buy replaceable heads for them.

Don't forget you will need some ejuice - Mount Baker Vaper is a good juice vendor. Best E Cigarette | Buy Electronic Cigarettes | E Cig Juice - MT Baker Vapor
Coupon code ecf for 10% off.
When you buy new juice buy small bottles - a lot of small bottles means you are not stuck with a flavor you bought a lot of if you don't like it.
