Hello all! I am extremely new to electronic cigarettes (and this site). My boyfriend and I decided about 3 weeks ago to start using e-cigs, he went to a local vape shop (carolina e-cigs in huntersville, nc) and bought the V2 starter kit, and i haven't smoked an "analog" cigarette in a little over 2 weeks, and it feels great. I am able to smell and taste sooo much better now, and i didnt even realize that those things were even affected by smoking. I originally started vaping to stop smoking and then i had the intention that i would come off of everything completely, BUT i LOVE vaping! This has become a hobby and I really want to upgrade! So being new i need some help. Where do I go from here? Im a little skeptical of variable volts (they kind-of frighten me), but i feel like to get the best vape that is the road i may need to take

Any info would be great!!!

Variable voltage shouldn't scare you :) It just lets you turn a little dial on the bottom of the battery to give the device a little more power to the coil that vaporizes the liquid. Very simple actually. If I can use one, you can use one. Just start at the low end and turn it up a little bit at a time until you get the desired warmth and flavor and vapor. If you lose the flavor, dial it down. See? Simple!

The eGo Twist is really the most cost effective device. Pair it with a Vision Vivi Nova - mini or 3.5 - tank. That is the only thing I can recommend because that is the only thing I have used. I actually use the 3.5 Nova so I really don't know what the mini is like as far as ease of filling. I know the larger one I have no problem with. Whatever device you do decide to go with, make sure it is the genuine model. If it is selling a lot cheaper on one website than another, ten to one it is a knockoff and might not work as well as the genuine.

GotVapes.com sells the genuine ones. I'm sure there will be others coming to give you their ideas. Research and then decide what you think works best for you.

hello! glad your enjoying your new hobby! I started the same way, wanting to use this as a stepping stone to quitting but the gadgets took over and im ok with that, lol
Vari volt, unless stepping up to what they call a mod using rechargeable batteries is harmless.
something like the EGO twist or KGO V V (ego/kgo are companies) are simply turning up or down the power coming out of the battery, think of it like a flashlight with 3 bulbs, turn it down you use one bulb less power and less effective, turn it up and more effective,

the devices that vaporize the liquid are just little wire coils in the basic form, giving them a little more power sometimes makes the vaping better. since they come in different power rating with a vari volt device you can fine tune your experience better thats all.

I would start with an EGO twist or KGO/KGOvv battery, they have a standard thread design called 501, there are literally tones of devices made for this threading. get at least two per person, charger etc.

Next you have to decide do I want to stay with cartridges like v2 or move on to a tank like system.
the carts are reliable, easily filled and work for a while if cared for.

after that they have whats called clearomizers which are little tanks with no filling they work better and hold more, but require a little more attention and care. there is also direct dripping which is drip a few drops in the tube take a few puffs then do it again.
then there are big tanks, fill em up, screw them on and have at it for a long time. they work well, hold alot but cant be layed down or they might leak.

3 vendors I use, until more people start carrying a EGO twist kit I would avoid most of the EGO KGO kits cause they include cartridge systems that arent that great. your kind of paying for acc's you will quickly outgrow.
i would suggest a couple battereis and charger then deciding what type of tip you want to try, then check on youtube for more information on that device and how to fill/use it.

then the best part when leaving the world of prefilled carts like V2 sells ---- there are TONS of juice venders selling literally 100's of flavors that blow the V2 stuff away!

I actually havent tried the pre-filled carts, but i dont really know if the flavor would be as good with it sitting in there forever. I bought some liquid from madvapes and some empty cartomizers and a clearomizer. I would like a tank system because i feel like i am always refilling.

What she said. Twist plus Vivi Nova. It's a combination that works. The Mini Vivi Nova works just as good as the larger one. It doesn't hold as much juice, but it looks more proportional on the Twist.

what pappy said the twist w the nova, boom done, no offense to anyone but the clearos suck, if you already like the results from the clearo the tank is the best way to go. the rest is gravy and playing, and maybe a mod later (want a provari for xmas lol)
HAHA! actually i was just watching a grimmgreen video on the provari it looks a little complicated and big. but im sure the more i get into all of this the more i will want bigger and more complex stuff like that.

*waves from another noob*

your starter kit is much better than mine.. didn't take me long to upgrade either.

I went with smokeless image's volt and 2x for the upgrade.. mostly because of the simplicity. I'm not wild about their cartomizers (the black tastes like rubber to me) so I grabbed a few nano's and have some clearomizers on the way. Volt + Nano makes me very happy.

I had gotten hubby an E Cab because the *training e smokes* were not impressing him at all. He doesn't like the manual button at all - so now that's the back up to the volts.

Its funny the first time I heard of it i googled it and went who the h*ll would want that thing, as I have progressed I understand now - with all the knockoffs, ripoffs. and cheap junk everywhere you turn if your going to spend the money make it money well spent.

I want it for the house, the feature set is pretty cool, along with ultimate batt life, then there's the fact its American made with a two year warranty and durable as hell. If more US companies step up in the vaping market it will force the chinese to make better products.
Will keep my twists for the pocketability at work but this thing looks cool.
