I have been smoking for somewhere between 18 to 20 years (I really can not remember the exact age I started) and I did not intend to quit. A couple of weeks ago my husband bought a joye 510 starter kit from cignot. I took a couple of hits off of his 510 and thought this device is really cool.

I spent a few days reading up on electronic cigarettes and decided that I would give this a whirl. I was thinking that I could use the pv at home and smoke my cigarettes outside. I had been increasingly sensitive to cigarette smoke in our home so I thought that this would be the perfect solution. Cracking the window in the wintertime is really not an ideal situation. :p

For three evenings at home I borrowed the pv that my husband had bought. I smoked cigarettes everywhere else (work, car, etc.). Something very strange happened one morning. I had my first cigarette of the day driving to work and it was just not as pleasurable as the pv was. I was a little shocked but went on with my day, running outside for my cigarette breaks. That night, I went back to using the 510 and the same thing the next morning, the cigarette was not as pleasurable. I thought at that moment, enough is enough. I need to order my own pv.

My 510 arrived in the mail on Friday (thank you Cignot for your extremely fast service!) and I have not touched a cigarette all weekend nor did I have the desire.

I do have a couple of comments about choosing the right device. I did look at a lot of different websites and posts before deciding to get the 510 from cignot. Is this model the right model for me? I can not really say yes or no but I can say that quality vs. price this is the right choice for starting out. I have had a few user errors (flooding the atty, putting the cart in the wrong way) but because I had read a great deal about pvs before using one, I knew how to quickly trouble shoot.

For me picking the model was easy. Now comes the hard part, the juice! Do I get pg or vg or a mix? What flavors do I like? I love chocolate but would I like to vape chocolate? Who do I order from? Hopefully I have a flavorful journey ahead of me. I can not wait for our order from vapor bombs to arrive!

I ended up quitting in much the same way as you did. I was looking for an alternative that I could use during the day so I would not smell like an ashtray when dealing with customers. Once I got my 510 though (also from Cignot) I was pretty much an ex-smoker. I have had a few cigarettes since I got my 510 and they just did not taste right, nor did they provide what I wanted.
For my, the 510 (with the larger batteries) was the perfect choice. I can be on the road all day and only have to take a couple of batteries and a USB charger to plug into my truck lighter.
I have settled on coffee flavored liquid. I love coffee, and it seems that most of the producers have gotten the flavor right. Although I will be trying some cinnamon liquid once I have a few extra dollars to spend on my new hobby.

Congrats to both of you. I too enjoy the taste of my PV over the taste of analogs. After vaping, it amazing to think how did these cigarettes have such a hold on me when they taste so bad? Whats even worse, I still from time to time grab a cigarette if family who smokes comes around. Don't know why but I still cheat. After a few puffs, I usually put it out becuase it tastes so crappy to me. But why do I still continue to try them out even though I know I don't like them any longer? Guess its like a tootsie pop... the world may never know!!! :D

As you can see, there are many that didn't plan on quitting cigarettes but ended up doing just that when they found out that the PV can give you everything but the health problems. That and the variations on the flavor can give you something else to enjoy. When you are looking for what flavors you like the best, get a bunch of samplers from different vendors to get a broad spectrum of flavors. We all like different juices and you will find that your favorite flavor isn't popular with some members. Most of us like to change flavors around quite a bit but have our favorite go to flavors. We might be able to steer you in a direction if you let us know if you like the sweeter flavors or the more tobacco type juices.

Congrats! I too quite the analogs in much the same way. However I am a gadget guy and love to work on things. PV's satisfy the need to modify and work with my hands as much as any hobby has. That coupled with the fact that PV's satisfy the hole smoking addiction has me hooked BIG TIME!!

My plan is to quit all together by reducing the amount of nicotine each time I run out of e-juice. However I may keep all my PV stuff just for the "neat-o" factor!

I am so glad I found out about e-cig's and this forum!

Congrats!! That's EXACTLY what I did, I 'accidentally' quit, even though I had NO intentions or INTEREST in doing so..the PV's are just TOO good!

As for your liquids, I would suggest Tasty Vapor..they're probably the hands-down favorite of ECF. His liquids taste EXACTLY like how they're advertised. If you like chocolate, I'd suggest trying their Tasty Finger..it's AMAZING!!

Good luck and read, read, READ!

Suggestion:
Get an ego from cignot and also some mix of pg and vg juice to try and several 510 attys. Either LR 510 attys or Reg Joyes..

Youll be set..
