Hello fellow members of ECF!

I am a brand new member to this forums so I would like to start with I'm super excited to be part of this community and I cannot wait to be able to contribute!

I'm having problems doing research because everyone on this forums uses abbreviations and I have no idea what any of them are right now or what any of you guys are even talking about lol.

But that aside as I stepped foot into this area (vaping) I recently bought a eGo-C Twist from my local store. I've done some research and I'm almost positive it is a knock-off which did kind of upset me but the store does not take and returns. So I had this eGo for two day and I am having a bad experience with it. When I first hit it I got a nice strong hit. A lot of vapor and flavor. The next day for some reason I barely get any vapor. It's not pulling well at all and it even taste horrible now. Burning flavor to it. I went to the store that I got it from and bough another atomizer (pretty sure some cheap knock off crap.) Didnt help anything.

I guess what I'm trying to ask here is can anyone recommend me to a nice vape that I can buy that will last long. Has good setting. I heard you like customize some of them? Are those good ones? I want big hits that feel like a cigarette and work well. I dont want some cheap vape. I'm not really sure how it all works in vaping, but I have been smoking cigarettes for 10 years and I am trying very hard to kick the habit and this is frustrating me very much.

Any help at all would be grateful! Thank you guys so much in advance!

What type of atomizer/clearomizer did you get with it? The twist can be a great starter, but you'll get sick of it pretty fast and want something a little more serious.

What type of e-juice did you get?

I smoked analogs for over 10 years.. the day I got my evod's I haven't touched one since. It's easily do-able, just gotta commit. I'm at 50 some days now and never going back.

You mention the battery is a twist, so im assuming you mean its variable voltage, not to oversimplify but what voltage do you have it set at?

Also are you using a cartomizer/cartotank style, clearomizer, or some other type and what brand/type if you know? Is the resistance of the cartos/heads (coils) listed anywhere ie, what their ohm rating is?

It's mostly likely not the batteries. The only problem you may have with a battery is an airy hit from the battery needing charging but I find the eGos are usually good until dead.

What unit are you using to hold your atomizer?

Are you familiar with how to clean atomizers?

Knockoffs shouldn't be an issue either. I have two knockoff eGos and besides the slight variation in size. They perform the same although 2 of them have loose buttons which make a slight clicking sound.

My only suggestion at this point is to dial down the twist to its lowest setting and see if that helps. Then dial it up right before the vape is burnt tasting. You may be frying the wick inside of your coil if turned to high.

I'm not sure what kind of atomizer I use. (An atomizer is the thing with the wick in it right?) I have the voltage set to the lowest and when I first got it, it was hitting pretty nice, but not so much anymore. I looked on youtube on how to clean them and I believe mine didnt unscrew like the one youtube did. I'm not sure what exactly a cartomizer/carto tank is. The volatage has been set at 3.4 and when I got higher it taste like burn. I got my e-liquid from the local store and the only brand it says on it is eliquidplanet.com

I do have some money and if you guys recommend it, I would like to invest in a nice vape that shouldn't crap out on me. Thanks so much again guys! If i can nail this vaping thing down I know I'll get into it and contribute and be on this website alot!

my atomizer looks like this E-turbo Clear Atomizer Tank, Vision Stardust Clearomizer CE4

Thats a disposable ce4(stardust) not exactly the Ferrari of clearomizers, more like the Ford Fiesta, but will do the job.

There should be some options to get it working better again, but keep in mind theyre generally considered disposable and cost ~$2-4 to replace at the most.

Have you been vaping a darker (coffee as you metioned) liquid for that day or so? If so you may have already gunked up the coil, it probably needs a thorough cleaning and you can attempt to dry burn it, but its not quite as easy on that style of disposable.

The tank you have looks like a cheap version of a Kanger T2. I would recommend a Kanger Protank I or II, at 3.4 volts you can use a 1.8ohm resistor for a good vape hit. Make sure you get the collar to cover the threads, and support the tank. If you are in a high risk environment, (like me as a mechanic) a glass tank might not be a good idea, a Kanger MT3 is a metal and pyrex alternative, they have a tendency to leak a little, but it holds about 3 ml and makes for a nice hit. I haven't had any problems with my EGO, but switched to a Smoktech WOO kit, for a better, stronger hit.

so genesis atomizers are buildable? what are the advantages? Ill get a picture of my ego up in like ten minutes. You dont recommend me go online and order a different vape now?

Careful now, "Out of the frying pan, and into the fire" genesis atomizers are a SERIOUS step up in complexity and probably not the best jump to make from an ego and ce4.

As mentioned above, it really depends on your goals when determining which kit is best for you.

If you can tolerate the size, id highly recommend investigating some of the various well regarded and affordable variable voltage/variable wattage devices available and pair those with a better quality clearomizer.

Some devices to consider Innokin SVD, Vamo v3, Innokin MVP, iTaste VW 3.0 etc, and for clearomizers the Kanger Protank 2 (mentioned above) Davide Clearo, or even som Kanger EVODS, or possibly a Vivi-nova.

Many of the above mentioned devices can be found at very reasonable prices on Fasttech.com if you can wait a few weeks for shipping, and sometimes at domestic vendors running sales.

I have only been vaping for about 6 months. I started on those atomizer tanks as well spent tons of money on them and then found out about dct cartomizer tanks, love them! Please make sure if you go that route you get one with a lock ring. I would also suggest a 2 ohm coil with two holes pre punched with the cotton center. Be sure to prime before firing. There are plenty of you tube on how to prime. I usually run 4-5 volts on that coil and will get 1-2 weeks on the carto. Good luck and don't give up.

You could buy a different setup, but if you don't understand the principles behind why your vape is not tasting good, you will probably end up in a similar situation.

My advice would be to get this one vaping properly, understand why it stopped working, how to fix it - this will give you a great foundation for when you move on to 'better' delivery devices.

First thing I would do would be to empty the clearo, rinse it out in hot water, fill it up with vodka or a high proof clear alcohol and shake it like crazy. Let it sit an hour or two - rinse it well, shake it out then try again.
Make sure the clearo is full of liquid (twirl it around as you vape to keep those wicks saturated) and start on the lowest setting. Turn it up a bit of a time until you get the vape you like.

I guarantee you can get almost as good a flavorful vape from an ego twist as you can from a $200 dollar APV if you know the basics.

LOL- i hit the 2 week mark before i ditched the evod's and went with a zmax with RSST. All depends what people are into and like tinkering with things. I just wasn't completely amused by the factory coils and hits.. The genesis can be picky... but i'm almost at the 2 month mark and have a Noble 1 hybrid and i'm really enjoying it. 100% different than the RSST on the Zmax.

Those are definitely hit or miss. I would suggest trying another type. I have one that lasted me a day and now I get airy draws from it. Another that is working like a champ. And just received a 3rd to see if I really like them or not.

I'm also experimenting with viva Novas.

The key with being new is to just get a solid battery setup which you have. Then keep experimenting with atomizers, clearomizers, and tanks until you find something that suits your needs. Same goes with juice.

Also, not everyone will have the same feelings toward a particular setup but getting reviews will allow you to see what should be avoided from the get go.....aka things that are known to have issues.
